Kanan strips himself of his gear, slips the separate pieces of his lightsaber underneath the pillow on his bunk-they must always be close at hand, always, even aboard the one place he has learned to consider safe. And when the glowbanks dim, setting his small quarters to midnight blue, he blinks until the darkness parts, and begins to shape a face in the air.

Hoops of hair that brush the tops of her shoulders, the elegant curve of her chin and nose in her profile, pinpricks of light for the marks of illumination between her brows.

This is how he remembers his master.
