geu-ra-mi had objectively the best and funniest response to bullying tbh. smacked the shit out of an ableist bitch in her class who was making fun of another girl, and when someone was like "ooooh why are you so mad are you defending your GIRLFRIEND? are you a LESBIAN??" she just "yeah bitch i sure as shit am! and i'm gonna swing this chair at the next person who makes fun of my girlfriend!" and then she DID. legend behavior.

Y’all I’m currently watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo (I just finished episode six earlier today) and istg I love Young-Woo and Su-Yeon’s friendships so much, like Spring Sunshine Su-Yeon is so sweet

Also Jun-Ho is so sweet the I love the silent judgement whenever someone says something about Young-Woo I just wish he was more confrontational (like he death glared at that one “you are a winner!” girl but I wish he’d speak up for Young-Woo more than just apologizing to her)

Also also I definitively feel like Su-Yeon and Min-Woo are gonna have a sort of rivals to lovers arc but I’d still be fine if they just became actual friends instead of whatever they’ve got going on right now

Okay another brilliant aspect of Extraordinary Attorney Woo is Geu Ra Mi.

My favorite FAVORITE thing about her is how indelicate she is. I've seen some discourse criticizing her insensitivity to the person she's "supposed to be best friends with" and I am here to say I get it, but it's so wrong.

Part of loving autistic people is learning that they, too, can deal with some frustration. There's an amount that they need protection, but what makes them feel normal and loved and respected is being treated like normal, loved, respected people.

Normal friendships don't involve one person constantly protecting the other from any harm or discomfort. They call each other out and subject each other to ridiculous shenanigans and part of the bargain is recognizing that sometimes one of you is gonna drag the other along on some ridiculous adventure that you would never accept on your own but you do it because that's what friendship is.

Geu Ra Mi makes Young Woo go to karaoke but is fine with her sitting there with her headphones on. She talks to her like a normal person but keeps reasonable expectations for her comprehension and application so she doesn't get frustrated with her. She gets grumpy with her when she wakes her up because of a clock ticking, but then goes on a search to help her destroy the offending clock and doesn't make her feel bad about it.

Loving and accepting an autistic person is recognizing that they are still just people, and that they have every right to experience the same joys and frustrations that come with the human existence. Maybe you make accommodations sometimes, or adjust your expectations, but you still get to be you around them, and they get to decide if that's okay with them just like everyone else.

Geu Ra Mi is the best kind of friend that Young Woo could have and I will love her forever.
