Opera on YouTube
I've shared links to complete opera performances before, but I love to share them, so I thought I'd make a few masterposts.
These list are by no means the only complete filmed performances of these operas on YouTube, but I decided that ten links for each opera was enough for now.
By the way, some of the subtitles are just a part of the video, while others require you to click CC to see them.

Monday February 6.
It's Harry's House, and we're just living in it.
*Spoilers for The 65th Annual Grammy Awards follow*
All hail the Queens, Kings, everyone in between...
It was the night Beyoncé proved herself to be unstoppable to everything, apart from traffic jams. After arriving late to the historic 65th Annual Grammy Awards, otherwise known as the #grammys, Queen Bey defied the LA gridlock to pick up four awards: best R&B song, best dance/electronic recording, best dance/electronic album, and best traditional R&B performance. The haul means has now won 32 Grammy awards, an all-time record on a magnificent night, and in doing so, overtook Hungarian-British conductor George Solti. His record of 31 Grammys had stood for more than 20 years, and is now no more. The King is dead! All hail the Queen!
It was a historic, magical night at the #grammys across the board, and one of the rare nights when seemingly every last one of our favorite people on the planet gathers in one room to celebrate each other. If we can't exactly be there ourselves, then let this glittering array of content be the next best thing.

Rules: Shuffle a playlist and write down the first ten songs without skipping.
I’ve been tagged by @lady-of-imladris, who somehow encourages my obsession with | math | on a daily basis. And I’m a sucker for tag games, so thank you 😊 ❤️
Oh boy, let me shuffle my Deezer favourites to accomplish this list. It has about 1,000 songs so it’s like pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Anything could happen!
1. Survivalism - by Nine Inch Nails
2. Seven - by Fever Ray
3. Tumbling Lights - by The Acid
4. Variations on the Original Theme, Op. 36 “Enigma” - Elgar - Pomp and Circumstance Marches - by Sir Georg Solti … 😭 that’s what I get for liking classical music - longest track names ever
5. Vater - by Soap&Skin
6. Riquiquí - by Arca
7. Vers l’avant - by J.T. Peterson
8. Cochleam - by French Coq
9. Il Barbiero di Siviglia: Aria. Largo al factotum (Figaro) - by Florian Sempey, orchestre national Bordeaux Aquitaine
10. I Follow Rivers - by Lykke Li
Yeah, that’s a bit eclectic 🤷♀️
Tagging, with no pressure: @niennawept @coraleethroughthelookingglass @myfavouritelunatic @helenvader

What's the longest song you've listened to?
okay so i think the longest piece of music ive ever listened to in one sitting is the opera Salome by Richard Strauss, lasting 1 hour and 39 mins. (performed by Georg Solti [cond.] w/ Weiner Philharmoniker)
salome is great music wise and the plot is quite unhinged if i do say so myself. also the final minutes of the ending is quite something.
other contenders include:
Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" (1h31m) (Leonard Bernstein [cond.] w/ New York Philharmonic)
J. S. Bach - The Art Of Fugue (1h22m) (Joanna MacGregor [pfte.])
Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony No. 7 "Leningrad" (1h12m) (Yevgeny Mravinsky [cond.] w/ Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra)
also as a side note, i have had Kaikhosru Sorabji's Sequentia Cyclica ex Dies Iræ (performed by Johnathan Powell) sitting in my Spotify playlist for the longest time. i have been meaning to listen to it for a while now.
the problem is that its 8 hours and 23 minutes long.
it would take up my whole day to listen to it.
