one of the most fun parts about watching generation loss is seeing a practical effect and wondering how they did it

Silly dumb stupid observation I just made (it’s 2 am) abt gl that I haven’t seen anyone point out yet and I have genloss brain rot.

⚠️Spoilers for Genloss TSE⚠️

So I’m pretty sure Charlie is supposed to be portrayed at “the villain” and Hetch is obviously supposed to be “the savior” n shit but if you look at it those roles are kinda swapped.

I know demon Charlie is the main villain in the first episode of tse, but in the second and more so the third episode Charlie helps Ranboo escape (for lack of a better word).

In the second episode, Charlie kinda helps Ranboo move to the next rooms. He helps them with the key to get to the carousel room and he helps complete the mouse trap game in a way (although he might have been the cause of the trap going missing but that’s besides the point). In the third episode, Charlie helps with holding the door closed when both him and Ran were chased for the first time in the third episode and Charlie reminds Ranboo to press the button after being obliterated by security to try to stop Showfall Media. And to make things worse, Charlie thought Ranboo escaped in the end.

And of course we all know why Hetch is the villain in this story.

week 4 - outfit/skin swap with a mcyt from a different fandom

Genloss is not mcyt But sneeg Is a mcyter/mcstreamer sometimes. so im counting it

I have this really warped lifesteal au that’s genloss based turned escape room levels with the heart system

If they die when going through the rooms (goes up to 4 floors) than their memory is wiped and forced to start at the first room again but with 1 less heart

To the players that made it to the roof become apart of the show completely mind controlled

Silly vision is a thing they all have so they can’t really tell if it’s more gruesome than they think it is. Some players do break through the silly vision so they can easily swap between reality and silly.

The show has many contestants and is super complicated and popular (has been going on for a while) so the protocols of keeping the contestants under aren’t prioritized. This fault starts several players faking it through and slowly getting as many players to regain their memories to plan a break out.

The confidence they have is warped. So they are fearful and scared since they don’t have their memories from being in lifesteal before this. At points, if certain players can break through the mask (arm band in this case maybe) they will be able to remember their memories and bloody roots thus allowing them to use their skills and break the fuck out of there.

It’s a hell repeat cycles with some punishment rooms that are essentially 2 ppl getting caught “breaking” rules which puts them in death games that 1 person HAS to die

To gain a heart there is external causes & favouritism from the “audience” that allows players to be “rewarded”

I’ve also tossed in mediation so some players change roles half way through so say Ashswag realizes wtf is going on and his memories return but doesn’t immediately try to break out so he asks to become a host of a huge room. With this he is able to help any player that makes it to that level and free them a bit from the system.

Some roles in this for breaking out of mind control and planning the escape would be the exploiters group (they got max favouritism)

Ashswag - game host in several rooms

Vitalasy - Candy man (mascot that appears in many rooms)

Spoke & Subz - snack room/break room helpers

Players with max favouritism get extreme leeway because audience favouritism translates to show favouritism

Takes place where Parrot and Zam get reset at the same time due to a death game gone wrong so the audience gets mad (they were the next favourites) and they both go through all the floors together (so it follows dual pov) and it shows how they meet “players” and live through it.

Guys i'm in too deep. I saw the chuckle sandwich would-you-rather bit again and the "would you rather eat your own arm or someone else's arm" one came up and charlie's answer almost made me cry because it reminded me of @caesurah-tblr 's fic with the genloss ending swap everyone go read it it's painful

you know what, these ideas have been plaguing me for long enough. here's some hcs of charlie: the hero and sneeg: the hero from these genloss swap ideas and what goes through their head in their final moments

this is rambling time, so apologies if it makes half sense

what if i told you that glhero!charlie's goggles block out the color green, rendering him colorblind and seeing in red hues both in reality and whenever he tried to visualize something. in his final moments, he is finally able to remember the color green. the color of traffic lights, emeralds, fruit, and nature. his life outside. he remembers a person sitting among green, lush grass. he remembers her eyes; green, too. and when the audience decides he's no longer useful, a toy they have gotten tired of, he tries to think of as much green as possible in a desperate attempt to capture that idea of individuality that has been stolen from him for so long. he holds on to that color, to those familiar eyes, to that person who's name is just on the tip on his tongue ("it's similar to the word green, right? gre—thats not right. c'mon charlie, think. you don't have much left, what was her name? you have to remember her, you have to.") as the metal digs into his ribcage. stubbornly, he refuses to give showfall the satisfaction of completely bleaching his mind. he dies with the color green, the color of grace's eyes, in his mind and no one can take that away from him.

you know what else? glhero!sneeg's in-ear tech constantly bombards him with white noise to stop him from acting out of line. when he wakes, that sound has finally stopped, but is replaced with hetch monologuing and, just to mess with him, an obnoxiously loud clock ticking in the room. he begs for the peace of a quiet death. he is able to move his arms so he plugs his ears and for the first time his brain is silent. thats when he realizes, wow, now he can hear what his voice sounds like. he has never truly recognized his own voice, it never felt like it was his own. for some reason, he can only find himself repeating the word "hannah" over and over again, the name coming to him easily like he used to say it out of habit. then, in his head, a memory of a familiar voice, louder than any previous ringing or static, calls a name he assumes that is his—his subconscious flooding with past moments with hannah faster than he can comprehend. as the walls close in he thinks about how no one will mutter his real name again. he thinks about other sounds he will never hear again as well. car horns, dogs barking, laughter, whispered promises... a baby's cry.

anyway, can you tell i slept well? /s

(edit: also, while ive mostly been on twitter, i feel like tumblr is more rambling-friendly, so i may do more waffling about headcannons because the brain rot is strong and i now have a place i can dump it somewhere lmao)
