Magic Saliva: This saliva can have different chemical reactions depending on what she consumes. Primarily, it reacts to the capsaicin in peppers, creating a magic flame that can either spray like a flamethrower hose or be spit out in explosive fireballs. Her flame is similar to a coal fire and has an upward potential temperature of 4,500 °F, however her child body can't handle it yet so most fires are closer to 600 °F. Her saliva also reacts to mint and wasabi, creating an ice and toxic breath respectively.
Steam Gullet: By holding in the magic fire produced by eating peppers, the fire could travel to her stomach and physically empower her, almost like the steam engine of a locomotive. Her speed, strength, and pain tolerance increase tenfold, though she suffers internal damage from the fire. As a result, she can only maintain it for so long before her body gives out. As she uses it, her tolerance increases. The first time was only a minute. The second time was about three minutes. Her maximum possible time in this state is 30 minutes, though that will require years of training. The stat increase also varies depending on how hot the pepper she ate is. Hotter peppers means greater strength, but more strain on the body.
Tempering: With this, her aura acts like a barrier around her body, which protects her from physical damage. The barrier grows in strength by absorbing kinetic energy and converting it into what amounts to increased strength and durability. Her barrier can be broken or pierced, however, causing it to not function. As such, continued exposure is required to make the barrier stand up to greater threats. As time goes on, without continuous exposure to kinetic energy, her tempering will slowly weaken. It's very much like a muscle that must be regularly trained. As a natural result of her Tempering, sustained damage can lead to an increase in how long she can use her Steam Gullet. While most people (even Rina) is unaware of this power until later, this is the primary reason why she can shrug off certain attacks in a comical fashion.
Weaknesses: Unless empowered by her Steam gullet, Rina is slower than a human of her size and age due to her heavy tail that drags on the ground, weighing her down. Her strong senses allow for sensory overload, including overly bright lights, loud noises, heavy smells, and being ticklish. She's not the brightest either (at least in terms of book smarts), though she has practical knowledge and survival skills. Rina also has a chip on her shoulder and can be very blunt without realizing it. Due to the loss of her brother and her perceived failure to save him, she constantly feels like she has to prove herself to others in order to prove something to herself.
==The Woodshed Family==
Crush Woodshed: A large and chubby older gator man who loves watching action movies with Rina. He’s often the softer and more forgiving parent compared to his wife, Shelly. Crush was known to have unbelievable strength in his glory days (hence his choice of name) but he’s mostly a homebody now. He’s also a terrible cook, which is why Shelly is always trying to keep him out of the kitchen.
Shelly Woodshed: A plump and culinarily-inclined gator woman who takes no back talk, even from monsters. She’s easily recognized by her polka dot dress, stained cooking apron, and fuzzy slippers. She is extremely protective of Rina and tries to keep her out of danger, and this translates to being strict when she deems necessary. She is not flinging Rina over her shoulder to drag her back home. She understands that this can create issues between her and Rina, however, and tries to make up for it by always having good food at the table.
Root Woodshed: The former protector of the bayou, Root was Rina’s older brother who lost his life when shielding Rina from a spray of bullets from poachers. He was always known to be a tough but fair individual and charismatic besides. Rina took pieces from Root’s red shirt and uses the cloth as both a hair tie and as a patch on her overall’s right knee.
