Fanfic Venting

I’m currently working on the next few chapters, and find myself taking Rhaenyra down a path we haven’t seen in the show, and DEFINITELY not in the books.

I do wonder if I’m going into ooc territory. But she’s facing things she didn’t have to/straight up avoided in canon. She’s not as alone as she was/felt in the show. I think what defines her and the actions she proceeds to take is her loneliness in the world. Her actions will get even worse when her sons die, as I’m sure we will see in season 2 and so forth.

Rhaenyra, at her core, does care for the people in her circle (in the show, she’s def a spoiled shit in the books). What if she connected with people outside of her circle? Smallfolk, people in other towns and such.

If she was in a position where she saw the true suffering of people outside the luxury of the Red Keep…how would she handle that?

These are questions I’m asking myself right now, but feel free to share your thoughts.
