Hey do you ever think about how the entirety of The Strange Case is told in the past tense. So when the books says “I let my brother go to the devil in his own way, he [Utterson] used to say quaintly” to us this is the beginning of the book, but to Gabe he has already been through everything. Do you ever think that he stopped saying this little phrase of his because of Jekyll. That he USED to be kind and trusting of everyone, and non judgmental of peoples faults, but Jekylls crimes and betrayal changed him somehow? That’s after the events of the book the greif and trauma changed him and he actually is no longer the lovely perfect comfort man we know and love but someone much colder, jaded, and isolated??? Anyway I’m doing great thanks for asking

found a bunch of old half finished outlines about some slasher stories but the problem is, see, i was more invested in making interesting slashers and thus have.... no supporting cast or, you know, interesting final characters. also they all appear to be lined up so that the slashers win which is fun to write but i doubt what most people are looking for in their slasher stories oops

So like, we’re all agreeing that oiling him up is going to be the first thing we do right?
Edit: he got oiled

Gabriel vs Aziraphale
Crowley said, "If Gabriel and Beelzebub can do it, we can too."
And it's funny that he should say that, when he's the one who brings up the earth being destroyed by heaven or hell first. I feel like that point in his argument shot him in the foot just a little.
Aziraphale is Earth's guardian, and he collects knowledge, specifically knowledge of the future. Gabriel and Beelzebub could run off together bc they didn't care about anything but themselves and each other. Aziraphale never had that luxury. He knows too much, and he cares too much.
This hit home especially hard when I watched Gabriel's trial last night. "You're sending me down to hell? All right. If I must. I'm ready to accept my fate. An eternity alongside my beloved partner, never to deal with you douchebags ever again. Whoops, I almost said that last part out loud."
Aziraphale had considerably less chill about it when he thought he would Fall for lying to Gabriel in A Companion to Owls. And I HC that the reason for this distinction isn't bc Aziraphale was scared of becoming a demon, but he was scared of losing his position as a guardian of humanity. Their magic act to save Job's children only succeeded bc the two of them were on opposite sides working together. If they were both demons it wouldn't have worked.
The ineffables are chronically incompetent, but when they do pull off a success it's bc they're working together from opposite sides, perfectly balanced. When Aziraphale is upset and scared of Falling, I don't think it's his identity as an angel, so much, that he doesn't want to lose. I think it's his identity as a guardian.
We don't know yet if Gabriel and Beelzebub will get their happily ever after, but if they do it will because Aziraphale gave up his.

Do you ever think about how Amelie didn’t want kids and was forced into having one by her husband, yet raised Félix lovingly despite colts abuse, supports him and his goals and ambitions, cares about his safety, has a positive presence in his life to the point where he trusts her with everything, meanwhile emilie and gabriel both ‘wanted a child’ yet they couldn’t handle having one, couldn’t deal with child that disagreed with them or that had feelings or goals, couldn’t take care of him, didn’t care about what he wanted and forced him into doing what they wanted essentially breaking him down to an object of their own selfish desires because they wanted a pet, a puppet to control, and not a real living being, despite their insistence that they wanted a child because they see children as obedient subservient beings and not people. Or just me

I'm sorry but the absolute most bitchiest scene in the entire show has GOT to be this one
Michael mansplaining shoes, Aziraphale's exasperated Bastille eyeroll, Gabriels fed up attitude and the hand he gives to shut Michael up along with the bitchy "yes" he adds
Absolute perfection
