really enjoying the concept of vintage furby lore as a microcosm of a particular time in history.

like i'm just here minding my own business, reading this fun little blog about this very posh socialite furby and his lore,

and then BOOM, we have some topical 9/11-themed furby content???

anyway i was maybe 6 to 8 years old when i was frequenting these sites. i turned 4 in 2001 so i don't remember 9/11 actually happening, but... these are the earliest memories i have of that general political climate (other than the release of american idiot) and i think that's incredible.

Today is my boyfriend's birthday, and he asked me months before to have his present be a custom Furby. I finished hours before and here is the result.

This is Persephurby. She is the furby goddess of Spring and death. Her looks are slightly based around "Lore Olympus" Persephone, but with some unique changes and additional features.

I was a bit worried since some of the original features weren't implemented due to some complications with how I applied them, but in the end, he loves his gift. That's more than enough for me to be happy.
