Hello furbler! It’s nice to meet you guys. My husband and I have just started restoring and customizing retro 90 Furbies. I’m currently working on this one, his eye chips fell out in shipping so the before pic is the one the seller had up. When we opened him up the first thing we noticed was a strong cigarette smell so we got to cleaning. His insides were corroded and covered in some kind of gross oil residue I did the best I could but he’s still pretty bad. We managed to get his motor going only issue is No sound.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to get rid of this gross smell and fix his sound?

We have a soldering iron.

Update: got some help from the guys on Reddit, turns out it was his speaker, we are ordering a new one off Amazon! Thank you guys
