that  was  the  thing  with  katniss,  peeta  didn’t  ever  know  what  to  expect.  and  that  response  was  definitely  an  example  of  it  once  it’s  shot  at  him  like  one  of  her  arrows.  being  sensitive  came  with  it’s  terrible  cons  &  curse  of  taking  things  to  heart,  especially  when  it  came  to  what  katniss  said  to  him.  because  he  admired  her  so  much.   but  being  able  to  brush  it  off  with  something  comical  was  his  aid  in  masking  his  sensitivity,  so  he  didn’t  appear  as  vulnerable  as  he  felt.  besides,  he  really  can  find  amusement  in  it.  blues  staring  at  her,  there  was  a  fleeting  moment  where  a  flood  of  hurt  tried  to  fill  them  before  a  new  response  clicks  inside  his  head.  something  amused  and  teasing  fills  his  hues  now,  deciding  to  spark  a  game  of  bantering  as  he  drops  his  sincerity  and  exchanges  it  for  something  quick-witted  as  voice  sasses  her  back  for  that  reply,
