Paraphrasing from Ron's interview on the radio today..
Tye Kartye and Ryker Evans are excused from dev camp this year…a “little banged up” after a lot of hockey in that Calder Cup run.
Ville Ottavainen had long travels to Finland so no demand for a quick turnaround and long flight back.
Donato even called after signing with Chicago to thank the organization for everything. ;( ;(
Not necessarily “done” in free agency action but thought it important to step back and take a breath after two sets of playoffs, Drafts and Awards.
Happy with Dumoulin addition
Having conversations with Borgen & Dunn
Admits arbitration cases of Geekie and Sprong were a big factor in decision making
Awaiting eligibility decision on Wright & AHL next season
says he got a call from Andre Burakovsky recently. The forward said he’s “feeling great. Stronger and stronger every day”
"We've got three [goalies] and only two nets...So two will play and unless we do something between now and the start of the season, then one will have to go through waivers and go down to Coachella."
Happy start of free agency day to all who celebrate!!! If you’re looking for rules and clarity, the league makes this a bit complicated! So I’ll attach the CBA below, but here’s the gist in bullet points!
Restricted Free Agents:
- This is new this year
- These are any players who are out of contract at the end of the season AND have played in NWSL for at least 3 seasons
- Restricted free agents can now start talking to new teams for deals for next season HOWEVER if their current team matches the deals they receive from other teams, that club retains the player
Unrestricted Free Agents:
- This one is much easier, these are any players who are out of contract at the end of the season AND have played in the league for at least 5 seasons!
ohhhh this hits hard. rly feel for this guy he gave ALL of himself put his own body on the line over and over for his teammates who never stood up for him in return and only got pummeled on by the refs, league, media, hockeybros, hockeymen commentators, other coaches, just everyone. Did not give him a break at any turn.
And he got to the show in the hardest way possible with his family unable to pay for the elite leagues he should've been in w his skill level so he kept chipping away at it in the lower leagues and along came the soo and dubas drafting him into the OHL. i just... y'all this guy hits my feels and I'm so happy he gets a sharp mind like brind'amour to guide him onto his next level of professionalism. He deserves this opportunity so much
And canes fans, know that this guy never takes his on-ice fights off the ice. Every time a reporter tries to provoke him he says "oh that was nothing. That was on ice, i don't bring it off ice" he knows what he's doing, he plays on the edge of rage like so many elite players (natemac im looking at u) and i hope b'a sees the unbelievable potential in him and molds him bc this kid is starved for guidance. keefe did what he could but after so many years in both soo & toronto under his tutelage it was rightfully time for bunts to get cut loose and learn from other experienced hockey minds
set adrift little leafie! float into the hurricane
A reasonable conclusion is that if God created human beings with free agency, then eliminating depravity would likely have to be done through a process that involves evil and suffering.
