Okay!!! I'm kind of proud of this! This is for the #bohosal. Each week we free embroidery on fabric. This is really stretching me and I like what I am learning. ❤️ I'm using @annamariahorner Folk Song Fabric. If you like this fabric let me know because I am aware of a whole bolt of it. But.... what you do is embroidery and embellish your fabric with embroidery stitches. 🤔 Okay so I want this to look organic and experimenting finding stitches give that bohemian free look. 💭 I learned how to do a bullion knot and so proud of it!!! They are like lines of French knots. That are in brown thread covering up the branches to the 🌺 flowers. Then I learned how to make a chain stitch around the pink flower. I worked on this while my husband and Netflix binged on a series. The series we are watching is Stranger Things. Have you seen it yet? Or have any recommendations for good series. 🤔 Anyways... back to my stitches, they are just delighting me along with this Anna Maria Horner Fabric. 📝 Take note that the orange flower 🌺 on the right was a new stitch I learned but I don't like that it is organic - it is just so closed up. So I did a different stitching technique on the orange flower to the left of it. Do you have any stitch suggestions for me? I want to really learn this. Thanks @wildboho for organizing this. #BohoSAL with @wildboho! I'm using Folk Song fabric by Anna Marie Horner for FreeSpirit Fabrics! Of course I'm using Aurifloss! I am just lovely this Sew Along and the opportunity to embellish gorgeous fabric with stitches! Oh my! What a dream - I feel like I'm designing with Anna Marie Horner! It took me awhile to decide what fabric to use to freestyle boho embroidery on. But when I saw this Anna Marie Horner piece, I knew I had found it! The BohoSAL is all year long and hosted by @wildboho Nichole Vogelsinger. She has a book called Boho Embroidery that I ordered from Amazon. The book just has lots of eye candy, techniques, etc... So each Sunday I will post current progress of the embroidery that I do on this piece. We shall see what it will evolve to become. Not only do I love Anna Marie Horner fabrics but to add embroidery to the fabric is just heavenly. I will use this as decor to hoop or maybe to embellish a bag to carry around. I'm not sure... Do you have any ideas? Have you embroidered without a pattern before? I like this style of embroidery where you don't have to keep looking down at a pattern and count stitches. This is new for me. Is this new to you? Or have you made things like this? Are you participating in the BohoSAL? Do you appreciate Anna Marie Horner's style too? This is my first video like this...
