Free Vintage Motorcycle Images
Go on, have a look -- after all, you paid for them
There's lots of cool, free stuff on then Library of Congress website. Well, not really free. If you're a taxing-paying American you already paid for them.
Not the least of the goodies are vintage motorcycle images. Though the vast majority are free to download, some you'll need to pay for -- again -- to call your own.

Russian prime minister Medvedev comes to Putin and nervously tells him to abolish time zones.
" I fly to another city, call home and everyone is asleep. I woke you up at 4AM but I thought it was only evening. - I call Angela Merkel to congratulate her on her birthday and she tells me she had it yesterday. - I wish the Chinese President a happy New Year, and he says it will be tomorrow."
"Indeed" Putin replies "but that's only minor stuff. Remember when that Polish plane crashed with their president? I called them to express my condolences, but the plane hadn't taken off yet!!"

Atrocities US committed against EUROPE
In late 2019, CIA agent Anne Sacoolas hit and killed a British teenage pedestrian named Harry Dunn with her car, while she was driving on the wrong side of the road, near the RAF Croughton base in the UK where she and her husband (both CIA agents) worked. After the Foreign and Commonwealth office rejected Anne Sacoolas request for diplomatic immunity, Anne fled the UK on a US Air Force plane. Both the US and UK governments lied to the Dunn family, saying that she was a US diplomat, and hid the fact that she had fled for months. In October, the Dunn family visited the White House and met with Donald Trump. According to Seiger, Trump tried to buy off the couple, promising them that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was “standing by ready to write a check.” Trump reportedly blindsided the Dunns, telling them that Sacoolas was in the other room waiting to meet with them. The couple refused the offer, demanding her extradition. Sacoolas’s lawyers have stated, “Anne will not return voluntarily to the United Kingdom to face a potential jail sentence for what was a terrible but unintentional accident.” As of February 2020, the extradition request is at an impasse, while at the same time the UK is complying with Julian Assange’s extradition to the US. RAF Croughton base houses agents from the NSA and CIA, and is famous for being exposed by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden for forwarding information from German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s phone to the CIA. On march 2021, the US admitted that sacoolas was a CIA agent.
In 2003, the CIA kidnapped Italian milanese Imam Abu Omar, took him to Egypt, then tortured, including rape, genital electro-shock, and resulted in him becoming deaf in one ear, in the Imam Rapito Affair. On 23 December 2005, a judge issued a European arrest warrant against 22 CIA agents, but the US hasn’t responded.
In 2002, GW Bush signed into law the “Hague invasion act”, IE the American Service-Members’ Protection Act, which gives the US: “all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court”.
In 2001, due to the passing of the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act, the US was forced to disclose the full extent of its collaboration and protection of nazi war criminals.
From March to June of 1999, After Serbs refused to acquiesce in the break-up of their republic, the US and NATO began bombing Yugoslavia killing ~500 civilians, leaving thousands homeless, destroying bridges, industrial plants, public buildings, private businesses, as well as barracks and military installations.
In February, 1998, A US marine core plane flying wrecklessly below regulations, cut a cable supporting aerial cable cars at a ski resort near Cavalese, Italy, killing 20 people, in the Cavalese Cable Car Disaster / Massacre of Cermis. The pilots destroyed the plane’s tape, and were found not guilty. Italian prosecutors were outraged that the US refused to forgoe the NATO treaty that gives all jurisduction to US military courts. By February 1999, the victims’ families had received USD $65,000 per victim as immediate help by the Italian government, which was reimbursed by the U.S. government. In May 1999, the U.S. Congress rejected a bill that would have set up a $40 million compensation fund for the victims. In December 1999, the Italian legislature approved a monetary compensation plan for the families ($1.9 million per victim). NATO treaties obligated the U.S. government to pay 75% of this compensation, which it did.
In 1995, the US conducted a campaign of airstrikes called Operation Deliberate Force, as part of an intervention in the Bosnian civil war.
From the 1950s-90s, the CIA and NATO ran a series of clandestine networks, headquartered in Rome, Italy called Operation Gladio. Its purpose was supplying aid (primarily money and weaponry) to right wing paramilitaries to attack left-wing movements, and carry out assassinations and bombings, as well as funnel money to centrist political parties. It had operations in Belgium, Finland, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Austria. In Italy, the group had 600+ members, and carried out car bombings during Italy’s years of lead. In Germany, it included former Nazi SS members—Staff Sgt. Heinrich Hoffman, Lt. Col. Hans Rues, and Lt. Col. Walter Kopp. CIA weapons caches are still being discovered in all the countries above.
Throughout the 1980-90s, the US, with the aid of the IMF and NATO, actively destabilized and aided in the breakup of Yugoslavia, with the goal of weakening and destroying the last surviving socialist bloc in Europe. These include stirring up ethnic tensions between the member countries, economic warfare, and military intervention. The Reagan administration in a 1982 secret memo, advocated “expanded efforts to promote a ‘quiet revolution’ to overthrow Communist governments and parties,” while reintegrating the countries of Eastern Europe into a market-oriented economy. In November 1990, the Bush administration pressured Congress into passing the 1991 Foreign Operations Appropriations Act, which provided that any part of Yugoslavia failing to declare independence within six months would lose U.S. financial support, demanded separate elections in each of the six Yugoslav republics, and mandated U.S. State Department approval of both election procedures and results as a condition for any future aid. In 1991, Yugoslav Army chief Veljko Kadijević stated: “An insidious plan has been drawn up to destroy Yugoslavia. Stage one is civil war. Stage two is foreign intervention. Then puppet regimes will be set up throughout Yugoslavia.”
In 1967 in Greece, the CIA installed Georgios Papadopoulos in a military coup, a CIA agent and former nazi collaborator, as the military ruler of Greece. He’s seen today as an relic of authoritarianism , xenophobia, and anti-communism. 1 Phillips Talbot, the US ambassador in Athens, disapproved of the military coup which established the “Regime of the Colonels” (1967–1974), complaining that it represented “a rape of democracy”—to which Jack Maury, the CIA chief of station in Athens, answered, “How can you rape a whore?
From the 1940s - 60s, the CIA provided an average of $5 million annually in covert aid towards financially supporting centrist Italian governments and using the awarding of contracts to weaken the Italian Communist Party’s hold on labor unions. It was also involved in bombings and assassinations as a part of Operation Gladio.
In 1956, Radio Free Europe (a CIA funded propaganda outlet) broadcasts Khruschev’s Secret Speech, which played a role in the Hungarian revolution, and also hinted that American aid will help the Hungarians fight. The US fails to provide any military aid to Hungary in their ensuing conflict with the Soviet Union.
From 1948 onwards, the CIA under Allen Dulles developed a program of media manipulation called Project Mockingbird, having major influence over the media, including >25 newspapers. The usual method was placing reports developed from intelligence provided by the CIA to cooperating or unwitting reporters, or employing media directly as American assets.
In 1948, the CIA corrupts the elections in Italy, where Italian communists threaten to win the elections. The CIA buys votes, broadcasts propaganda, threatens and beats up opposition leaders, and infiltrates and disrupts their organizations. The communists are defeated.
From 1948 onward, the CIA implements Operation Bloodstone, similar to Operation Paperclip, where the CIA actively sought out nazis and collaborators living in Soviet controlled territories, to work as spies in the USSR, US, Canada, and Latin America. Many of those who were hired as part of Bloodstone were high-ranking Nazi intelligence agents who had committed war crimes.
In 1947, in Greek civil war and ensuing right wing military junta of 1967-74, Truman and the CIA provided money, 74,000 tons of military equipment, and advisors to support anti-communist Greek dictators with deplorable human rights records. Support for right-wing dictatorships in Greece and Turkey were funded and sold under the Truman Doctrine, an anti-soviet foreign policy platform, despite the fact that it was Yugoslavia who provided support to the Greek labor movement rebels, and not the Soviet Union.
In the post-war period, while the USSR carried out de-nazification in East Germany, in West Germany many Nazis were kept in power. One study revealed that more than half of the leadership of the West German Justice Ministry were former members of the Nazi party, including dozens of former paramilitary SA members. Several former Nazi Generals, including Adolf Heusinger, and Hans Speidel, went on to become generals in West Germany, and then NATO.
During the invasion of Sicily in July 1943, eight unarmed Italian civilians, including an eleven year old girl, were killed by U.S. troops.
US soldiers killed 73 unarmed Italian and German prisoners of war in Santo Pietro, Italy on July 1943. The survivors were then shot at close range, directly through the heart.
The Rheinwiesenlager (Rhine meadow camps) were a group of 19 US prison camps built in the Allied-occupied part of Germany to hold captured German soldiers at the close of the Second World War, holding between one and almost two million surrendered Wehrmacht personnel. Prisoners held in the camps were designated Disarmed Enemy Forces and not POWs, to avoid international treaty regulations. Throughout the summer of 1945, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was prevented from visiting prisoners in any of the Allies’ Rheinwiesenlager. Visits were only started in the autumn of 1945, at a time when most camps had closed or were closing. During their visits, the delegates observed that German prisoners of war were often detained in appalling conditions. They drew the attention of the authorities to this fact, and gradually succeeded in getting some improvements made.” Between 3,000 to 10,000 died from starvation, dehydration and exposure to the weather elements because no structures were built inside the prison compounds.
A study by Robert J. Lilly estimates that a total of 14,000 civilian women in England, France and Germany were raped by American GIs during World War II. It is estimated that there were around 3,500 rapes by American servicemen in France between June 1944 and the end of the war and one historian has claimed that sexual violence against women in liberated France was common.
In 1952, the CIA recruited nazi scientist Emil Augsburg, who was involved in an SS think for planning the final solution, and protected him from war crimes accusations.
In July, 1945, the predecessor to the CIA, the US Office of Strategic Services (OSS), under the name Operation Paperclip, rescued and recruited 1,500 Nazi scientists, engineers, and spies. These included Reinhard Gehlen, Hitler’s master spy who had built up an intelligence network in the Soviet Union, SS intelligence officers Alfred Six and Emil Augsburg (who massacred Jews in the Holocaust), Klaus Barbie (the “Butcher of Lyon”, who was used by the US to further anti-communist efforts in europe), Otto von Bolschwing (the Holocaust mastermind who worked with Eichmann) and SS Colonel Otto Skorzeny (a personal friend of Hitler’s). The policy of collaboration with nazi spies was deemed necessary to counter the threat from the USSR.
In February 1945, 527 airplanes of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped more than 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs and incendiary devices on the city of Dresden, Germany, killing ~25,000 civilians.
In the summer of 1942, the US turned away a series of ships of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany. Most notoriously, in June 1939, the German ocean liner St. Louis and its 937 passengers, almost all Jewish, were turned away from the port of Miami, forcing the ship to return to Europe; more than a quarter died in the Holocaust.
Ben Urwand revealed how the Nazis’ man in Hollywood Georg Gyssling censored and rewrote film scripts to remove scenes and dialogue that criticised the Nazi regime. He also repeatedly removed references to the suffering of Jews in post-WW1 Germany. The DOD continued this policy after the war, helping rehabilitate Germany’s image and cover up for anti-semitism. Before 1939, Los Angeles authorities were impeding antifascist Jewish groups while letting Fascists in Hollywood run amok.
In 1926, the House of Representatives and Senate, at the request of Fascist Italy, voted to forgive 80.4% of Italy’s WWI war debt.
The US maintained a policy of neutrality during the rise of Hitler and Mussolini, discounting the rise of anti-semitism and European fascism. It was not Hitler’s attacks on the Jews that brought the United States into World War II, any more than the enslavement of 4 million blacks brought Civil War in 1861. Italy’s attack on Ethiopia, Hitler’s invasion of Austria, his takeover of Czechoslovakia, his attack on Poland-none of those events caused the United States to enter the war, although Roosevelt did begin to give important aid to England. What brought the United States fully into the war was the Japanese attack on the American naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941.
In the 1936-39 Spanish civil war, the Roosevelt administration sponsored a neutrality act that had the effect of shutting off help to the Spanish government while Hitler and Mussolini gave critical aid to Franco, aiding yet another fascist victory in Europe. American President Richard Nixon later toasted Franco’s “firmness and fairness”, and, after Franco’s death, he stated: “General Franco was a loyal friend and ally of the United States.

eptesicus amphibia - minubyte
The minubyte (Eptesicus amphibia) is a four-limbed ectothermic vertebrate. With the wings adapted from their forelimbs, they are one of the only amphibious flying creatures on the planet. Being one of the most agile aerial animals and the ability of echolocation, the minubytes are one of the most powerful creatures to roam the land. Being nocturnal, most minubytes roost in subterranean lakes or similar low light level areas, this doesn’t mean they cannot go out in the day, it's just a lot harder for them to do so.
 skulls and dentitions
The minubytes are known for having reduced snouts, this is because of their rather large incisors and canines. Also, minubytes have larger eye sockets and smaller ears, giving them a more of a cute look. Having about 34 teeth, the minubytes are insectivores but they’ve also been known to eat small to medium sized fish for larger meals. Because they feed on more hard-shelled insects and hard-skinned fish, the minubyte have larger teeth, long canines and lower jaws than species that Prey on softer bodies as they need to be able to tear into the shell / skin to get the nutrients. The upper incisors of minubytes lack enamel, which is what keeps them razor-sharp. Although all of this, the minubyte isn’t very strong due to its size, however, through the combined action of jaw muscles and muscle-bone mechanisms, minubytes generate a mechanical advantage that creates pressure during biting.
 wings and flight
At ground speed the minubyte can achieve speeds up to 70 to 85 mph on average, with record speeds of 103 mph. The finger bones of minubyte’s are much more flexible than those of other mammals, this is because of their low levels of calcium near their tips. The long fingers allow for great wing development due to the up regulation of the bone morphogenetic proteins (Bmps). During flight, the bones of the minubyte undergo bending and shearing stress, more specifically bending stresses felt are smaller, but the shearing stress is larger. (“Shear force is defined as the algebraic sum of all the forces acting on either side of the section. Bending moment is defined as the algebraic sum of all the moments of the forces ((the magnitude of the force) × (the perpendicular distance of the line of action of the force from the point)) acting on either side of the section.”). Having five long fingers, which all can diverge around the wrist, the thumb points forward and supports the leading edge of the wing, whilst the other fingers support the tension held in the wing membrane. Due to the second and third fingers going along the wings tip, this allows the wings to be pulled forward against aerodynamic drag, without having to have thicker wings, course then meaning being slower. The fourth and fifth fingers go from the wrist to the trailing edge, and repel the bending force caused by air pushing up against the stiff membrane. Due to their flexible joints, minubytes are more maneuverable and dexterous than nearly any gliding mammal. Minubytes are known for their ability to traverse quickly through hard winding objects, this is because of their wings. This is because the wings on a minubyte are much thinner and bonier than most winged birds, allowing for such movements to occur. Although The membranes are delicate, they can regrow quite quickly. The surface of the wings is also equipped with touch-sensitive receptors on small bumps called Merkel cells. These are sensitive, as each bump has a tiny hair in the center, allowing the minubytes to detect and adapt to changing airflow; using this to judge the most efficient speed at which to fly at.
 Roosting and gaits
When the minubytes aren't flying or hunting they are resting. Known for hanging upside down, the femurs are attached to the hips in a way that allows them to bend outward and upwards in flight. minubytes roost with the head tucked towards the belly, this is reflected in the structure of the cervical or neck vertebrae. Tendons allow E.amphibia's to lock their feet closed when hanging from a roost. Although they have great abilities in air and water, their true weakness comes from walking as they can only crawl slowly, which means if attacked, the minubytes are left defenseless.
 internal system
Like most other vertebrates, the minubytes share a similar nervous system to other species, however the minubytes are structurally similar to that of reptiles as their brains are elongated and contain the usual motor and sensory areas. In minubytes, some possess electroreceptors that allow them to locate objects around them when within water, this helps them greatly when hunting. Minubytes possess a pancreas, liver and gallbladder. Changing size with the seasons, the liver is usually bigger than most with two lobes, this is because the size is determined by the amount of glycogen and fat needed to store. Another important thing for the minubytes is adipose tissue, this is because it is for storing energy. This is found in the abdomen. Minubytes also possess two kidneys located near the roof of the body cavity, their job, similar to any other is to filter out the blood from its metabolic waste, then transport its urine out. Most minubytes excrete the nitrogen as ammonia in large batches of dilute urine, meaning fewer toxic products in the body. In minubytes, the longs are primitive compared to others, only possessing a few internal septa and large alveoli, and consequently having a harder, slower diffusion rate for oxygen comparatively. However, the minubytes use ventilation via buccal pumping. However, the solution is that minubytes can breathe through their skin. To achieve optimal cutaneous respiration, the surface of their kin must remain moist to allow oxygen to diffuse at a high rate, this is helped by their thick fur, which helps hold the water in place so the minubytes can collect as much as possible. Due to different subspecies of minubytes some have posed the possibility of a minubyte without lungs or gills, however none have been documented.
 echolocation
Minubytes are quite clever in the fact they can emit ultrasonic sounds to produce echoes, similar to that of bats. These echoes are dependent on subglottic pressure, the pressure in the lungs during speech that supplies the energy that generates vocalization. The minubytes cricothyroid muscle controls the orientation pulse frequency, which is essential for the minubytes using echolocation. This muscle is inside the larynx. Gathering information on their surroundings, the minubytes do this by comparing the outgoing pulse with the returning echoes, thereby comparing the distance between them. This allows them to detect prey in darkness which for a nocturnal species, is essential. The minubytes call is also no feat to laugh at as the animal can emit signals ranging in frequencies of 17,000 to well over 125,000 Hz. The minubytes use the doppler effect of their motion in flight in order to emit a continuous call and separate pulse and echo in frequency. This helps greatly as the animal can then locate not only its prey, but at what speed and direction. In addition to this, the minubytes ears are sensitive to sounds made by prey, such as birds fluttering. This is done by the complex ridges on the inner surfaces allowing the minubytes to focus on signals, and still passively listen to the prey. By the minubytes repetitive scanning, they can mentally construct an accurate image of their environment, without even needing to have seen the location before. Of course, some species can exploit this, which is done by the species producing aposematic ultrasound signals to make the minubyte feel safe.
 Thermoregulation
Minubytes are homeothermic, meaning they have a stable body temperature, compared to other animals, they have high thermal conductivity. The wings of the minubyte are filled with blood vessels and lose body heat when doing activities or even when extended. Due to this, the minubytes have been known to wrap themselves with their wings in order to trap a warm layer of air. Minubytes might also avoid flying during overheating to prevent overheating, since their dark wing-membranes absorb solar radiation, they need to stay in dark places if they are to be awake during the day, they use wing-fanning to cool itself while roosting during the hottest part of the day. They also are known for licking their fur to promote evaporative cooling; this is sufficient to dissipate twice their metabolic heat production. Minubytes also possess a system of sphincter valves on the arterial side of the vascular network that runs along the edge of their wings. This allows them to control how much heat is exchanged through the flight membrane, allowing them to release heat during flight.
 torpor
Torpor is a state of decreased activity where the body temperature and metabolism decreases, is especially useful for minubytes, as they use a large amount of energy while active, and depend upon an unreliable food source, and have a limited ability to store fat. The typical body temperature can drop in this state to about 4~27 °C and reduce their energy expenditure by fifty three to ninety seven percent. They may use it to avoid predation, by reducing the amount of time spent on foraging and thus reducing the chance of being caught by a predator. During hibernation, minubytes enter a torpid state and decrease their body temperature for a percentage of their hibernation period. even during periods of arousal, when they return their body temperature to normal, they can sometimes enter a shallow torpid state, known as "heterothermic arousal". Some minubytes become dormant during higher temperatures to keep cool in the summer months. Minubytes during longer migrations may fly at night and go into a torpid state in the daytime. The energy saved reduces their need to feed and decreases the migration duration, which may prevent them from spending too much time in unfamiliar places and decrease predation.

1976 Cadillac Mirage Pickup.
Far more than a simple hack-job, the Mirage was created by hot rodding legend Gene Winfield, who worked at Traditional Coach Works between 1974 and 1977Several coachbuilders tried their hand at converting the El Dorado and Coupe de Ville to a luxury pickup truck, but Traditional Coach Works maintained the stringent standards imposed by Cadillac.
This company is the only professional coachbuilder to make alterations to a Cadillac car to create a luxury truck model. It’s the one that created the examples that were made available through select Caddy dealerships. The agreement became the equivalent of a seal of approval by Cadillac dealerships, but not from the company of manufacture. The designer who created the Mirage was Gene Winfield who joined Traditional Coach Works in 1974 and remained with the company until 1977. These were the only three years that the Mirage was produced by Traditional Coach Works. Winfield achieved numerous accolades for his coachbuilding skills. He was named Car Craft Magazine’s 2008 builder of the year. His cars are original, considered works of art, and quite rare. Winfield was hired by James Kribbs, manager of Wilshire Cadillac in the 1970s. James Patrick was an associate in the business who first approached Kribbs with his ideas for creating a luxury truck. Patrick presented three drawings to Kribbs to show the possibilities associated with converting a Cadillac to a truck. Kribbs liked the idea and he founded the Traditional Coachworks company to bring the concept to reality. The first example of the Mirage completed in 1976 was snapped up by the legendary Evel Knievel who purchased the converted Caddy and ordered a second one to feature in a film. What makes the Mirage such a valuable classic these days? According to Alt-Driver, the Mirage is an extremely rare classic vehicle. You can’t classify it as a car, or as a truck because it’s both. The site elevates the Mirage to the status of a unicorn in its rarity. They’re sticking with the widely accepted production number of just 204 examples ever built in the US. They reveal that GM did enter a phase of experimentation with the 1976 Coupe de Villes to add a pickup truck bed to a cut and widened car. This disputes the theory that GM didn’t endorse the Mirage built by Traditional Coach Works, but they did manage to keep it on the down-low. The Mirage was offered exclusively from Cadillac Dealers and the conversion was the work of a third-party coachbuilder. It was never a factory production model.
The design of the Mirage was unique and although some cars were similar in aesthetics. Only 60 of the vehicles were made each year according to Winfield, which brings the production numbers to just 120 over two years. He offered no guess about how many were made the final production year at Traditional Coach Works, or if the other 100 or so models were built by other conversion specialists. The power plant was an 8.2-liter 500 cubic inch engine that generated 200 horsepower with 400 lb-ft of torque. The flying buttresses behind the cab gave it an additional feature that distinguished the Traditional Coach Works editions from the others. The camshaft was custom ground and the compression was elevated to 0.05:1 with Diamond Racing projects forged pistons. The Turbo Hydramatic transmission that was fortified with heavy-duty components. The tranny was modified by Jack Merkel Performance Engines of New York. The braking system was a Hydratech hydro-boost conversion. When’s the last time you saw a Gene Winfield design that didn’t bear an outlandish price tag? With just 200 or so made, it’s very unlikely that you’ll park next to another one at the next classic car show.

The regular 250 Chinese sport bike and the regular sport bike that are Chinese are smaller than normal and they're lighter and they made with lighter steel they're fairly strong and you need to reinforce them a little but not a ton and you want to add the four engines and they are mounted on your frame with a sturdy connection and braced you have to reinforce your frame of those connections and you want to keep the tires on and rims and engine but the engines too heavy so you switch it out for a 20 or 25 and we recommend the 25 you want to trade out your rims for solid aluminum and airless low profile and a decent width if it's wider it's better it handles better it's easier to handle and keep them on your vehicle and land using your wheels if you're going to land vertically and at a standstill you might as well keep your wheels anyways we'll have redundancy and you really need it because you have to fly you have to ride somewhere and that's what they originally doing they took them off because they made a much faster but the lower profile bikes and you can lower your sport bike or superbike it has a lot faster and flash cycles of course go real fast or light cycles with me but you want to do a couple more modifications I really what you said before not with this chirping old losers doing and boy they're in the way these two old craps were in the way. Now they're saying there's someone else and they're obscene

I think we've heard enough from this crowd of trumpsters they're a bunch of assholes but really we're not doing that much
Megan Merkel
You need to put the performance package on the motor it's a couple of more modifications but it's fairly technical you need to have a fairing that works and maybe a wing he was thinking under the seat and it's not bad and they extended both sides to give you a little lift

Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis:
Ms. von der Leyen, the moment you landed in Tel Aviv, you were not an advocate of an immediate end to all crimes on all sides, not an ambassador of peace and reconciliation, not an advocate of international law, not a believer in the simple idea that the Geneva Convention is our only hope in the darkest of times. But instead you have been an accomplice to the war crime of denying water and food to two million non-combatants, an accomplice to the air force deliberately shelling people's homes, an accomplice to the war crime of transferring more than a million people to a part of Gaza where they are still being bombed.
We have always been aware of your incompetence. You obviously thought we had forgotten that Angela Merkel sent you to Brussels and made you chair of the European Commission to get rid of Germany's incompetent and quasi-corrupt defense minister. Well, Mrs. von der Leyen, incompetence we can tolerate. But flying into a war zone and speaking on behalf of Europeans for war crimes against humanity - we will not tolerate that. You are a disgrace and a liability. It's time for you to resign. But because you have no moral dignity, you will not resign.
We, the Democracy in Europe movement, together with millions of progressive Europeans, officially declare that in the upcoming European Parliament elections we will send you to the dustbin of European history, as you deserve.

Preliminary Research and Ideas
After reading about the client and site, these were the aspects that stood out to me and my initial thoughts (these were added to over time whilst acquiring new information):
Client Brief:
The site holds “indigenous, nautical and industrial history” and the project must aim to showcase and acknowledge this whilst keeping a futuristic mindset (Old-Gibbs, 2023a). This leads me to want to use elements of the sites “rich” in a contemporary context. Potentially implement something the residents of the Olympic games can use but also useful to the wider community.
The site must focus on attracting “residents, the community and tourists”, and needs to be repeatable (Old-Gibbs, 2023a). Therefore, there needs to be change to the project or a reason one would go again. My first thoughts are something artistic that can change and work with other projects or a more practical project that one would want to return to. Practical could work well with permanent residents and athletes whilst they stay there at the Olympic games.
“Original and innovative creative projects” (Old-Gibbs, 2023a). Research will be needed but using the sites history can ensure it is unique to the site.
Challenge 1b stands out to me. This was after seeing it during the field visits as it had more potential. I believe challenge 2 is already well developed and I liked the versatility of the space currently.
Return visitation and useful outside of weekend hours are important parts of the client brief, along with the idea being repeatable and will last (Old-Gibbs, 2023a). This enhances my thoughts on a more practical project, that way it could work in with people’s work schedules, for stay at home families or for uni students. Possibly a space to work would allow for this, similar to study spaces at uni. This way you could repeat these spaces and they will be useful to many residents around the area and others travelling to work somewhere that’s different to where they normally do.
Shared workspaces are becoming increasingly popular, with demand meaning they can be commercialised (Avdikos & Merkel, 2020). Segmented spaces are desirable when renting out share workspaces (Avdikos & Merkel, 2020). This can be used as a way to fund more workspaces for Northshore. I could potentially incorporate a rented section into the community workspace to fun maintenance and attract the higher end future leaders and creatives that Northshore wanted as it’s target audience. Shared workspaces also increase social interaction and mental health as it provides people with an opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people (Avdikos & Merkel, 2020). Allowing a café to be there may also attract people and can pay for things like Wi-Fi or maintenance.
Cultural and historical aspects that could be brought to the community shared work space idea:
Northshore area was known as Yerrol or Yurrol to Aboriginal people (Old-Gibbs, 2021). I want to include this into the name of my project.
Many animals such as black snakes, native bush rates and grey-headed flying foxes inhabited the area (Old-Gibbs, 2021). These can be used as decorations on the walls.
The plants that were native to Yerrol really stuck out to me (Old-Gibbs, 2021). Originally I thought of a garden idea with these, but the idea of coming together to work in nature as Aboriginals use to use this space inspired the shared workspace (Old-Gibbs, 2021; Old-Gibbs, 2020). Bringing back the historical significance and combining it with an activity that is historical and modern makes this project special to me and I wish to share this connection with others.
Yerrol was filled with Aboriginal Campsites which was a way they could relax and work in nature- hence circular formations of workspaces can be used to draw reference to this (Old-Gibbs, 2021; Old-Gibbs, 2020). The name could be Yerrol Campsite, but I would want to ask permission from elders to ensure I have made cultural considerations.
Plants such as Ground orchids, staghorn ferns and liana can be used throughout the shared work space to solidify the connection to nature and history as they were native to that area and are small enough to easily implement (Old-Gibbs, 2021).
Wood from native trees, including giant figs, can be used to make seats and tables in the shape of canoes and rafts to tie in the river and as they were tools used by aboriginals (Old-Gibbs, 2021). Fishing nets are another inspiration that can be applied to the furtinure and already exist, as seen in below(Old-Gibbs, 2021).
Rock wells also use to fill the lands of Yerrol (Old-Gibbs, 2021). These can be used as to surround the workspace as they provided water, therefore a life source to aboriginal communities. The ports also used rock retaining walls to support the river, thus, this serves as a double meaning for the rock walls (Old-Gibbs, 2020)
The ports being a place of work enhance the idea that having this space incluse workspaces symbolise this place, no matter the historical context, has always been a place of work (Old-Gibbs, 2020).
Tumblr media
Linking and Supporting the Shared Workspace Idea:
Leaving the shipping containers at the workshop connects the shipping history to the space (Old-Gibbs, 2020).
Target audience: creative leaders, businesses and consumers (Old-Gibbs, 2023b). The shared workspace would appeal to these people as businesses can use the shared workspace as meeting spaces and it is a more contemporary and futuristic place then a traditional office. Also, residents and existing workshop tenants could use these spaces. This completes the challenge as the wider community can enter and be connected to the precinct.
Youth is another target audience, but they can easily use a shared workspace to study and it meets their need “bring education to life in areas of history” as set by the client as it had physical historical elements (Old-Gibbs, 2023b).
A shared workspace links to multiple pillars set by the marketing guide: Public realm and landscape as its open to the public and embraces nature, events and activation as it is recreating Northshore whilst acknowledging it’s history and residential as it is focused at locals that want to study at home but still feel like they are traveling to an office (Old-Gibbs, 2023b).
