Sorry if someone’s done this already, but here’s Undel’s response to the auraboa feedback-
(Transcript under the cut)
“Thank you for your feedback and critique. We wanted to let you know that we’re taking this under consideration; however, it is late and past work hours for most of our staff. We will be addressing this swiftly, but it cannot happen immediately. Our apologies.
Visually the inspiration behind the feathered crest is the Quetzalcoatl feathered serpent of MesoAmerica. The crests of birds also provided inspiration alongside traditional depictions of Quetzalcoatl, and served as a framing feature for the head. These crests are a part of the dragon and not external garb. We thank you for the critique and hope that this helps to explain the design choices for the Auraboa.
Regarding the story and the article, we appreciate your critique and absolutely see how parallels might be drawn. We are sorry. The original draft for the story had many ideas that were explicitly stated cut out for the sake of word count. The fact that the hatchlings were changed, but able to freely move between worlds was omitted and left (poorly) implied. We will use this as an opportunity to better our lore and restore much of this original context to make sure we are telling the story and building the world we want and intended to tell.
Thank you as always for your critique. If you have additional feedback, Contact us is the best way to get it to us!”
