[tweet thread text: I consider myself something of a tenant organizer. I’ve had many convos w/tenants of varied means. Seeing all the 📷 📷 takes on the @ananyaUCLA piece I’d like to share a couple thoughts: Not a single tenant has ever told me what they need is more market rate development.

I went to neoliberalism grad school, I understand the appeal of “market urbanism,” I know that many liberals see themselves as the vanguard, that THEY are the ones who have the answers and that anything else is obstructionism.

The more I’ve worked ~with tenants~ rather than speculators & pols, the more I understand how patronizing it is to look at a mass of people suffering poverty/eviction/filthy conditions/indignity & tell them “I know what you ~think~ you need, but I know better.”

Ultimately the tenant struggle is not for more varied, more benevolent landlords. Tenants want security from eviction, they want to know their rent won’t go up 500% in 5 years, they want to build a life for themselves & families.

None of that plays any part in capitalism. The best YIMBYs can offer is that some of tenants’ needs ~may~ be met as a byproduct of increased investment and speculation, but for how long and for who? We are not byproducts, we are community members, we are humans.

As a tenant organizer, I work to build solidarity & structures that support the needs and dreams of working class tenants, tenants of color, tenants on fixed incomes, unhoused tenants. You do this by first recognizing their humanity, not the supremacy of market ideology.

Lalu bisa dites langsung dengan sinar UV untuk mengetahui daya tahan panas dari kaca film. "Usahakan cari tahu dulu kaca film apa yang mau dibeli, dan usahakan beli di distributor resmi. Lalu bisa ditanya alat uji sinar UV, agar kita bisa tahu daya serap panasnya. Merek-merek yang ada di Indonesia seperti V-Kool, Masterpiece, First Klass, atau 3M bisa disebut beberapa merek kaca film ternama yang punya daya serap panas bagus. Tapi, tetap membeli di distributor resmi agar tidak tertipu barang palsu,' jelas Christopher lagi. Makko Group sendiri membawahi beberapa merek kaca film yang beredar di Indonesia.
