Interesting. This recent trend of artists making war games is very much to my liking - in this case by Rifle Infantry, and here is a link to the rules themselves, including two WIP army lists.

Which faction are you interested in vis a vis firelock 198x?
My ask in 4 years and its not only not from a porn-bot but additionally about my current hyperfixation! I am someone who likes to test out stupid shit and I have commitment issues. So I will play any and all factions. I have made 200pts list for everything except the Atom Barons since I only recently found out that the codex was posted. I love the Federals most for their style, yet have a small ick about them because of their Tusker-GM being game defining.
TL;DR: yes

Heya Fox Girl. What ttrogs do you like?
Thanks for asking! I'm currently running Shadow of the Demon Lord, which is a fantasy-horror game that I ended up filing some serial numbers off of for a Bloodborne-y style campaign. The class and magic system are both wonderful and modular, while player characters stay mortal level-to-level even if they do have plenty of options.
Outside of that, I'm working on my own (industrial) fantasy heartbreaker GLOGhack! It's focused on making the players feel like land pirates in an age of exploration.
I admire ICON and Lancer, though I've never played them. They're tabletop wargames but I rather like Black Death Rising and Firelock 198X as well. Both have imaginative flavor to them, and the former is narrative-based and helped me recontextualize what I like about the combat portion of grid-based ttrpg: positioning and clever use of abilities, first and foremost.

Cold War Fantasy Wargame shenanigans incoming
Tumblr media
Rifle Infantry has released revised vehicles for Firelock 198X, and it includes a "Saucer Tank".
I am ready to burst. Is it with joy? Can't promise. But I am burstin'.
