under the cut: undersiders as what plant i think they would main/be in pvz garden warfare 1 (+ dressup)
disclaimer i've literally never touched gw2 so if there's a better fit in that game i wouldn't know it.. just gw1 for now..
Decisions are made based more on gameplay than on physical appearance but I tried to take both into account.. however as a sunflower main maybe I'm biased on some account so fellow garden warfare heads feel free to suggest better fits for them
Reading over all these I'm now realizing I kept mixing up what I think they would main vs what plant they would specifically be, which is a little confusing...
TAYLOR
A Peashooter variant feels a very obvious choice for her, since she's pretty much always on the frontlines. Its hyper ability would allow her to jump to higher up places to retain the "watching from afar with bugs" thing
I chose Law Pea more for the justice bit in its stickerbook description (where there is injustice you will find it etc etc) and less for the law bit (though she does have a code of law it's incomprehensible to anyone but herself). It felt more fitting for her because well she does try to work for what she feels is the greater good.
For dressup we're pretty limited here, both because there's not many bug themed accessories and also because I just don't have that many accessories :( I gave her the "heart and arrow + Mom" tattoo, and the visors. Fuuuck now i'm realizing i could have given her actual glasses... Wait no nevermind I'm not sure I have plain glasses. Well anyway those are her glasses.
LISA
She mains boss mode which I feel doesn't require very much explanation
For those unfamiliar: In boss mode you play as Crazy Dave (or Dr. Zomboss), generally out of the heat of the battle but still able to participate with your various abilities. It's mostly a support role, but you can still attack (cherry bomb drops), heal and revive (sunflower + revive drops), and help your team track the locations of the enemy (coconut spotting machine). You aren't invulnerable as the opposing team can shoot down your ship.
For dressup purposes she's the Shadow Flower because of the mask :3 I gave her a razor grin and some purple crystals. Adding a hat felt like too much but maybe I would have gone with the chaffeur hat.
I'm now realizing Shadow Flower would just be a good plant choice for her in general.
Sunflower life bonds are normally reserved for other sunflowers but she can have one with Taylor I think. Well ok not a true life bond because that requires the ability for mutual healing but it's more accurate this way because honestly chasing down someone across the entire map who will easily die if you aren't constantly healing them is just kind of the sunflower experience
BRIAN
Again, peashooter feels like a given, though unfortunately there's no equivalent ability for his darkness emission...
Plasma Pea because the colors are closest to black out of the peashooters. The Plasma Pea can charge up shots to increase their damage and radius of impact.
I didn't have any skull-based accessories so I just went with what felt cool and what he might use in an actual game of GW1... so basically just the intimidation factor
While we're here though if I was doing zombies he'd 100% be some sort of Foot Soldier. The Zombie Stink Cloud is 1:1 for his darkness ability. I guess since Peashooter and Foot Soldier are kind of parallels in terms of game play this works out well. (Seriously though every Peashooter main I know also mains Foot Soldier. Please I know you are good at video games just stop sniping me from across the map for 10 seconds 😭)
RACHEL
A chomper is a kind of dogy to be honest <---my logic when I was 10
Went back and forth between normal Chomper, Count Chompula, and Fire Chomper. Settled on fire chomper because I was thinking of that scene where she talks about her power burning away heartworm in her dogs, and also because orange. However I think normal Chomper would fit her just as well.
For dressup I was going more for what I envisioned her dogs looking like while reading worm. Additional chompers are there to represent her many doggies. Tentacle is there to be scary and monster esque. Metal brace jaw is there because honestly I think it looks really cool, plus I already had it equipped anyway
AISHA
Originally I was going to go with Chomper because ourple, and I still think it would fit her. However Future Cactus is also ourple. And also I think Future Cactus is so cool
My reasoning was that her stealth would translate well into cacti gameplay since with cacti you mostly need to just find a really good vantage point where no one else can see you, allowing you to snipe people well. But I'm now realizing the Future Cactus is like... a lot more visible bc of its chargeup. Oh well
Aw wait I just realized she matches with her brother cause they both have chargeups.. thats adorable i think

I'm now realizing that in terms of gameplay probably one of the peashooters would have fit him better because well he does play shooter games. And peashooters are The main plant for guys who are so good at shooter games. But we have too many peashooters on this team so Sunflower it is
Originally was going with the Alien Flower because I thought its ornateness might fit him. But I don't have Alien Flower and it's more Aisha styled anyway (ourple and silly) so he gets the Power Flower.
Hey wait I used to main this thing too. Yay <---switched to Fire Flower though. But yeah as a sunflower I don't generally go out into the thick of things unless I have like 3 other guys with me, I mostly just stay behind at the garden and heal whoever needs it (garden ops or gardens and graveyards)
Honestly now I'm thinking I mostly chose this one for the appearance rather than gameplay. Actually wait the electricity theme fits with his tazer. Nevermind!!
The panda face tattoo is there because I thought it looked like his mask. Hat and masquerade mask are there because they're fancy.
Sunflower life bond with Aisha future cactus btw.
Anyway that's my list. If and when in the near future I get better accessories I will do more dressup and also maybe deduce what zombies they main

i can’t have a normal conversation w/ someone who only played the first pvz game because they’ll be like what’s your favourite zombie and i’ll go marine biologist! i love the sounds the gun makes and the splash + rate of fire is PERFECT for my close range style and not to mention the fact that all scientists have a shotgun and the energy warp is great for waiting out chili beans or chompers and then they look at me like i’m insane

It is so very fun to think about eternal duo being enemies before they became friends.
Like, it’s a great image. Totem of Death, Foolish Gamers, who brings deaths nd destruction where ever he goes whether it be for money, sport or revenge has a petty rivalry with Eret, blood relative of Herobrine and a reckless cryptic willing to kill just for shits and giggles.
It’s one of my favorite things.

New Kids on the Rock Plants vs. Zombies AU, GO
Neil is a Blover, Ryan's a Hypno-Shroom, and Kevin's a Repeater
The three of them alongside many others protect http-colon-slash-slash Hollywood East TV's front lawn!!! Said "Hollywood East TV" is actually a young homeowner named Holly Eastwood (their name gets misheard a lot) and their dog Rocky
Spencer is a PvZ2 Lightning Reed - for reasons you will see later - that Holly initially places in the front lawn too, but the new kids make sure he gets transferred to the roof before too long
Daxter Flaxter's the Crazy Dave equivalent (Crazy Dax?) who lives next door, giving Holly tips and selling them new plants. As for his own plants, he's pretty bored with them and could not care less if they get eaten or killed whilst protecting him.
The exception is Mitch, his money-producing Marigold that helps him fund all the plant materials he concocts. Daxter carries him around most of the time to make sure he's never out of sight; it's already rare for him to get a spot in the fray, but after a particularly close call with the new kids Mitch is now permanently confined to the Zen Garden
Out of Daxter's other plants, Max the Chomper takes the cake - he's much faster than other chompers and as a result has plenty of spare time to pick on the plants over the fence
Other neighbors along the street: Old Man Cooper all the way at the far who tends to the neighborhood's Tree of Wisdom, Wendy's mom who mostly uses lawnmowers and pool cleaners with only a few plants
Oh yeah and Wendy's a PvZ2 Ghost Pepper btw. You know, the one that's just pretending to be a ghost
Sometimes, Neil accidentally blows in random seed packets, leading to stuff like the Death Potato Mine Incident (in which the new kids plant a potato seed by Max as revenge only for it to blow him up. Neil may or may not be terrified of that guy now)
Kevin also ends up growing his own tree of wisdom with another seed packet, until it takes up too much of the lawn and the OG advises them to take it down
Being a clover by default, Neil already has worse luck than in canon, but the events of Unlucked would truly kick off with a stray lightning bolt getting fired at him from the roof (totally wack ;D!) and splitting one of his three leaves in two
Not too sure how the plot of The Vigilante would come about... I was thinking maybe that thanks to the power of cross-pollination Ryan finds out he has some secret hidden Doom-Shroom DNA, but mushrooms don't really work that way.... then again they ARE considered plants in this universe, so
And speaking of things being hidden... deep in the shadows, Zomboss has made a secret ally in the Misery Meister, helping to create Zombotany

In the first image, Hypno-Shroom!Ryan is watered while Blover!Neil and Repeater!Kevin watch contentedly. All three of them are sitting in pots with communicator watches wrapped around the bases. Underneath is a smaller doodle of a cabbage-pult and repeater.
The second image shows Daxter Flaxter wearing a backwards pot in place of his cap. He twirls his keys with one hand and holds Marigold!Mitch in the other, saying, "Can't let my cash cow out of sight!"
In the third, Chomper!Max smirks at Mitch through the window of the zen garden, asking, "How's the weather in there? (heh heh heh)". Mitch glares back and replies "wouldn't you like to know, plebian"
The last is a three-panel comic featuring a partially obscured Holly Eastwood. Holly, feeding coffee beans to some sleeping mushrooms: "Bean for you, bean for you..." Then they stop upon seeing Ryan, who's not sleeping. "Wide awake?? Guess you're fine..." They slide the last coffee bean up to him, wondering to themself, "What if I... just leave this here". In the aftermath of the last panel, Ryan shows off a new leaf ponytail he pulled off the bean. The new kids and Holly go "YOOOOOOOO" in the corner.

This is a ref sheet of how I draw PvZ's iconic Sunflower. Keep in mind that all the PvZ characters I'm drawing, previous and upcoming are my first times actually drawing them. And I think I did well with her, just like with Peashooter.
The bio for the Sunflower (the main one) is this:
"While she prefers to stay behind enemy lines (unless if there's a plant in need of reviving there, despite her stress and fear that comes from that), that doesn't stop her from using her ranged attacks while keeping everybody in high spirits with her sunny personality and superior healing. As the backbone of the plant team, it's her job to keep her teammates alive, a job she loves doing."
As for the other Sunflowers, here are their bios.
1. While terribly mysterious to everyone, Mystic Flower is very wise, able to give guidence to the plants when needed. She also enjoys a bit of rubbing it in zombies' faces every once in a while, and she always does it in a very polite way. She is feared by her weapon filled with mysterious energy.
2. Due to her continulessly vent powerful electrical energy, all thanks to her over-tanning on the day she got those powers, Power Flower is mostly in distress when trying to control it and is very let down when she sees all the acidental damage caused by her. But when her spirits are high thanks to fighting zombies, she uses her powers to help the plants and ruin the zombies' day.
3. Fire Flower feels very gifted with the fire-based powers she had recieved thank to a date with Fire Pea, who, as of right now, is her boyfriend. Unlike the OG Sunflower, she perfers to go into enemy lines, but sometimes, can be reckless while doing so. She also loves it when zombies burn to the ground, indicating that she has a love for arson. Although. this gets out of hand a few times, but not to the point when Crazy Dave's house burns to the ground.
4. Shadow Flower is very nocturnal, making her an excellent night patrol leader. Although, she likes to work alone, only working with someone if needed. Since no one can tell what's under her mask, some say she's just a sunflower with her own identidy. But just like any other superhero, she fights crime and rights any wrongs, and is pround doing it.
5. Metal Petal, despite her being a bit cocky and reckless, adores fighting straight into the face of the zombies, literally and figeratively, even more so than Fire Flower. And what scares both plants AND zombies is the fact that she always comes back alive. While she may move slower than any other sunflower, she's the best at dangerous solo ops and defending teams of plant escorts. She's also one of the very few plants that can counter a Foot Soldier's ZPG in the face.
6. Little was known about the Sun Pharaoh until her sunflower-shaped pyramid was discovered in the early eighteenth century. According to the local hieroglyphs, she enjoyed long walks on the beach, had many catnip companions and enjoyed eating chicken salad sandwiches. Those are things she still enjoies as of present day. While she's a helpful ally and believes in the plant cause, she is mostly seen in her egyptian temple, only coming to the plants' base if necessary. While her calm demeanor and somewhat cold personality can come from her previous companion, Cleopatra, her sunflower personality is what balances her mood perfectly. She's best friends with another royal plant, Rose and, while she perfers working alone when it comes to royal dutiies, when it comes to helping other plants, she perfers working with Law Pea, Armored Chomper and Bandit Cactus.
7. Alien Flower is a Legend of the Lawn, who comes from an alien plant world and wants to be seen. She gets very angry whan zombies try to hide her away, forcing her to kill them without any remorse. But she's allways helping the plants when to comes to interstellar discoveries. She's also the only plant with a pilot's license when to comes to flying airplanes or spaceships.
8. Vampire Flower is very commited to being a goth plant. She can also be competitive when facing zombies. While she can be a bit annoyed with shenanigans, she at least doesn't put people's spirits down when discussing hope. She's best friends with Count Chompula.
9. Stuffy Sunflower's all about sunshine and rainbows. She gets very upset when even a single zombie hates rainbows. While the OG Sunflower may have a sunny personality, she always gets help by Stuffy in order to cheer people up in their most depressing time. Just ask the plants who went through The Great Depression.

Legit i love it so much when little kids want me to draw for them
My little nephew saw me drawing a chomper piece and he needed to know what it was, then convinced me to draw “his komper” which he chose the fire to be his favorite. Then as soon as i was done he NEEDED me to draw a Spiderman Chomper for him too cause its his other favorite fjfjfj

This is a ref sheet as to how I draw the Peashooter from PVZ: Garden Warfare. And I gotta say, for my first time drawing this iconic plant, it doesn't look so bad.
I'm thinking that, after drawing all the plants and zombies and making bios for their possible in-game personalities, I might make a few short comics about their shenanigans, a few art peices every once in a while too.
Anyway, the bio for the Peashooter (the main one, anyway) is this:
"The Peashooter's an amazing warrior, perservierent and consistent when it comes to taking down zombies. But when not at the enemy lines, he can be quite a reckless adrenaline junkie. But overall, even with those flaws, he still cares for his team, nontheless."
As for the rest of the Peashooters, here are their bios:
1. Fire Pea, due to his ability to permanently stay aflame, can be a bit cocky. Luckly, though, this is only towards the zombies. He's a life-saver when it comes to winter and saving money on his and any other plants' heating bills. His girlfriend is the Fire Flower.
2. Ice Pea, while the coldest Peashooter around, has a warm personality, able to cheer up someone who's feeling down. He's full of the holiday spirit when Christmas arrives.
3. Toxic Pea, while as happy as his BFF, Ice Pea, complains a lot about people feeling distant. This is due to him not having a lot of friends because of his toxic body, which makes him feel quite down sometimes. The Ice Pea is always there for him whenever he feels down.
4. Due to his experience in the jungle, where he grew up, Commando Pea knows every turn and corner when going through a stealth ops. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy that NEVER tolerates any sillyness (although, he does that sometimes for the sake of his teammates when it comes to rookies, though, not willingly). He can be very stubborn sometimes. This is most shown when he fights a horde of zombies without retreating.
5. Agent Pea's your typical spy movie agent: cool under preasure. While he's no-nonsense like the Commando Pea, he's willing to tolerate any sillyness and not get even a bit mad about it, unlike him. With a british accent and a License to Vanquish, Agent Pea's the perfect silent stalker behind enemy lines.
6. Law Pea is always there, whenever there's injustice and suffering and whenever liberty is threatened. He's fast with his weapon/mouth, the Six Shooter and is a great leader and protector. Although, he can be very lazy when there's no action, and due to him being the oldest peashooter (not as old as an old man, thankfully), he'd perfer taking a nap or sitting in his chair doing nothing... unless, of course, there's trouble to be taken care of. His best friends are the acient Sun Pharoah, Armor Chomper and his somewhat love interest, Bandit Cactus.
7. Plasma Pea is a Legend of the Lawn, the smartest peashooter there is. He knows all of existence and can solve any question you have about outer space. He is feared by those who cross his path thanks to his weapon/mouth, the Plasmic Disruptor. He's best friends with the plant Legends of the Lawn, who are Alien Flower, Chomp Thing and Jade Cactus.
8. While he may look gruff and tough, Rock Pea is simply an insecure peashooter who just wants a hug. He, when he was young, was bullied for being a rock plant. While the bulling stoped when he was a teenager, he still felt very insecure and depressed about himself. Eventually though, he met Sunflower, who knew his pain and helped him move on from it. When in battle, while he may be slow, his weapon/mouth, the Rock Shot. He loves to dance, esspecially if it involved anything hawaian.
9. Electro Pea is an adrenaline junkie just like the original, although, he can be a bit of an impatient fellow, sometimes needing someone to calm him down whenever the action ends. He's also a jokester against the zombies; while he's good with pratical jokes, he's not the best when it comes to puns..................but you can always count on him to make a bad pun about how "charged up" he is.
10. The Berry Shooter, although not alive as of right now, was a legend back then. Created by the now dead Aquafina Industries with Crazy Dave as a sucessful last resort to protect their supply of coll drinks, he, alongside his best friend, the Cirtus Cactus, an Aquafina veteran, have protected the industry and their drinks for years. But when Suburbia was being taken over, Dr. Zomboss ended their lives with a powerful heat ray, alongside Aquafina. Even in death, he is honored by all plants, esspecially Rock Pea, who looked up to him in his times of sadness.
