all hot priest needed was a therapy session with fiona shaw’s character and he’d be back with fleabag in no time
#yeah I’m one of those ppl who don’t buy his ‘it’ll pass’ line#he’s not choosing god over her he’s choosing fear#he’s afraid to give up everything he knows and everything he’s worked towards his whole life#when he ought to know that love for and with soemone else is the closest way to god#it’s literally god actualised and materialised#he’s not a monk and this self-denial is not moral it’s fear-based which means I don’t accept the ending#he uses priesthood as a clutch from his trauma thinking that’s all he can offer now#but he doesn’t actually deal with his trauma he just bottles it up into helping others#they may be separated for a couple of months or even a year but there’s no way they never get back together#fiona Shaw needs to ask him some deadpan straightforward questions and sort him the fuck out#fleabag#hot priest#hot priest x Fleabag#mine
