I’m not even going to lie, that was the most insane men’s free skate I have ever witnessed. Adam jumps to the podium after being in the first warm-up group, Yuma wins his third Worlds silver, and Ilia with a flawless free skate after all the question marks this week. The emotions. The whiplash. The drama.
Congratulations to Kaori Sakamoto for winning three back-to-back World Championship titles!! Kaori is the first woman to win three consecutive titles since Peggy Flemming in 1968! Along with Mao Asada, Kaori is also the Japanese woman with the most World titles. (x) (x)
I just assembled all the links for easily watching the Korean nationals replays for my mother (who enjoys watching skating but needs specific instructions on how to find it). Sharing here in case it's useful for anyone else, since the blog navigation took a bit for me to figure out.
For singles, each group has five or six videos, one of each skater, in order on the page. I've found that the videos seem to time out and show me an error message after I've watched three or so, or maybe just have the page open for a certain period of time; if you refresh when that happens it fixes it (or just refresh the main page between watching every few videos).
Off to watch the women's free skate, the only part of this event with any degree of unpredictability in the results!
