Starting Dragonsong's Reprise (DSR) today with some raid homies, and I'm so excited.

I'll be back on PLD for the fight, yay! BiS gear has been properly glamed over with a knightly look, and I'm very much looking forward to saving Haurchefant, even if it's not canon.

WE DID IT , IT FINALLY HAPPENED

Ya boy finally beat his first ever raid tier ;u;

(Gonna be a little sappy but you all will live with it; 6.0 spoilers)

I've been in FFXIV for about 10 years now - came in during the final patches of ARR to sprint and be ready for HW - but never looked into raiding because I convinced myself that was only for "good" or talented players. Then came 6.0 and all the existential "was it good?" conversations and then finally at the end when Zenos asks why you fight, I sort of had that epiphany of "I DO wanna fight stronger bosses for that rush, to see if I am stronger." It sounds trope-y as hell but that straight up was my turning point and once I had beaten the MSQ at the time I started looking to guides, general strats, etc. I joined statics with friends and bounced around, suffered in party finder, got better, and I guess the rest is history!

This one was such a feel good victory though, coming in as a fill for a friend's group on a class I hadn't really anticipated using but liked and speed-learned my way through P11S (since my main group never cleared P10S but I had in PF, which is fine! We all originally were in it for the fun, I'm just competitive as hell) all the way until the end and making friends with everyone along the way in the process.

Late night PF is wild.

A few months back, I put together a second static to help some very deserving friends who had lost their previous groups clear the current Savage tier.

Well, half the folks in this picture just got their first P12S clear tonight! Super happy for them. Now we just have to keep going until everyone gets an axolotl.

FFXIV Savage Raider Pro Tip

Fireworks take the same amount of time to use as tinctures.

In all seriousness this is a great method to get a feel for using a tincture in your opener, and you can substitute tinctures on your hotbar with heavenscrackers or other fireworks while progging so you can still default to muscle memory and tell when you've messed up your tincture usage.

In less seriousness it's always fun to see how long it takes for people to notice that you're popping fireworks during prog. My static has adopted this wholesale and with the latest Rising event we've stocked up on thousands of heavenscrackers. Openers are pretty wild with all the extra confetti.

"I have P10S on farm" feels like one of those phrases that should be good enough to put on a real resume.
