Some astrologers are of the opinion that the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on 18th August, while some say that the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated in the eighth Muhurta of Ashtami date which will be on 19th August. This year the 5250th birth anniversary of Lord Krishna will be celebrated.

हिंदू धर्म में कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी का बहुत अधिक महत्व होता है। भगवान श्री कृष्ण के जन्मोत्सव को कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी के नाम से जाना जाता है। हर साल भाद्रपद यानी भादो मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार मनाया जाता है। कुछ ज्योतिषाचार्यों का मत है कि जन्माष्टमी का पर्व 18 अगस्त को मनाया जाएगा, जबकि कुछ का कहना है कि जन्माष्टमी का पर्व अष्टमी तिथि के आठवें मुहूर्त में मनाया जाता है जो कि 19 अगस्त को रहेगा। इस साल भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का 5250वां जन्मोत्सव मनाया जाएगा।

अष्टमी तिथि-

आधी रात को मनाया जाता है जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार-

जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार अष्टमी तिथि के दिन रात 12 बजे मनाया जाता है। ऐसे में 18 अगस्त की रात जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार मनाया जाना चाहिए। कई लोगों का मानना है कि भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का जन्म अष्टमी तिथि के आठवें मुहूर्त में हुआ था जो कि 19 अगस्त को रहेगा।

Updated Formative Presentation Script

This is my mind map of the creative community which is in black boxes and my creative practice which is in dark blue boxes. These are the people and work I will be talking about today.

Aside from design, my other talent and passion lies in music and I play the piano and viola. From being a part of a world premiere production with New Zealand Opera, to accompanying singers, and teaching kids; my musical journey has enriched my personal growth.

I came across this campaign titled “Modern Classics” released in December 2022 in New Zealand. It was created for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO), by ad agency Stanley St. This print medium campaign contains 3 media assets. The APO is an organisation I have connected with as I participated as a violist in their Summer School for 3 years.

The classical orchestra was once the epitome of cultural entertainment, but now struggles to captivate the younger audiences. Using AI-generated visuals, this series offered a reimagined look at the roles and celebrity status these legendary figures would take up if they were alive today.

Moving onto a scholarly source I found; Miranda Finn’s project at the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts introduces “InForm,” a mobile app educating non-musicians on the structural components of three fundamental musical forms (fugue, sonata, and rondo) via interactive graphics and audio.

I would be open to designing for CD’s, album covers, posters advertisements for concerts and festivals. Additionally, I would like to do work that engages and inspires the newer generations in music education and provide the opportunity for them to explore it.

Alongside graphic design, I would like to pursue a career in the User Experience (UX), or Customer Experience (CX) design. In my Interaction Design Studio class last semester, I redesigned Webjet’s website and focused on the flight booking section.

I conducted user research such as surveys and user testing to identify problems, weaknesses of Webjet as well as competitor analysis, examining, and comparing similar websites. Using wireframing and prototyping in Figma, I employed a design system with typography, colour, icons, grid and components. I improved the design’s consistency and cohesiveness so that users could build the most streamline travel journey.

This project made me realise that I enjoy working on designs that improve customers’ interactions with products, services, and systems in a way that is intuitive, smooth, and pleasant.

The next person I have chosen from the creative community is Stephen James Hart. He is a creative director specialising in graphic design, typography and photography, and serves as Creative Director at Gateway Church in Hamilton.

In addition to branding like this one done for Gateway Aotearoa, he has also made album designs for newly released worship songs which blends my music and spiritual affinity into design

I want to make graphic designs that reinforce the messages the church aims to convey to the congregation and create an atmosphere of worship and community, highlight and advertise occasions or services.

Another person from the creative community I will mention is Jessica Hische, a lettering artist and author based in California. She has worked with clients creating custom lettering artwork for established brands, classic books, postage stamps, and so much more. Her unique blend and integration of typography and illustration into visually aesthetic works inspires me to hone these crafts and draw inspiration from her.

History-Making Profits, World-Ending Emissions is a project by Jory and Co, a design studio focused on social and environmental impact. In this work, they created a distinctive brand, website, infographics, video, and social assets to be used and referenced by the national media and partner climate organisations.

I’m interested in design for social good and branding. I want to utilise my creative skills to raise awareness, promote important causes and inspire action within society. This is an example of a project I did relating to that.

Teachers Count is an integrated awareness campaign concerned with the primary and secondary school teacher shortage in New Zealand and encourages Generation Z to pursue this area of the education sector. The collateral includes a poster, zine, notebooks, pens, and stickers.

My graphic design forte is yet to be found, whether typography, illustration, photography, collage or another avenue. As I continue to produce more work, I will explore and discover which crafts I lean into. The creatives and their work I have discussed today exemplify some of the designs and aesthetics I aspire to master and amplify.
