*Morning sunlight peaks out behind a cloud. In a bedroom a phone alarm goes off and is quickly smacked into silence by an arm reaching out from under a comforter. The hand makes to go back under the covers but stops short, reaches back towards the phone, holds it up with a pause, and slams the phone down again. The covers are thrown aside and...*

Oh heck yeah Formula 1 is back! Dang, that winter break felt long, huh? Well, I for one can say that I’m definitely looking forward to seeing some fast cars going fast again.

And yes indeed, I will once again be doing my F1 liveblogging this season. As usual, this is just going to be, y’know, an unprofessional ramblefest. But hey, anyone following along knew what they were getting into. :P

So, first thing’s first, we got some new drivers and a couple...well “newish” teams. Haas will have two rookies this year, with Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin and AlphaTauri has brought on rookie Yuki Tsunoda. Renualt has turned into Alpine (which I’m still not sure how to pronounce) and has brought Fernado Alonso back into the mix, and Racing Point now Aston Martin. And since last year there were some driver swaps and some who left as well. I won’t go over all of that since it’s uh...easily googleable knowledge. :P But yeah, grid is a fair bit different from last year. And I’m sure that won’t cause any issues with my liveblogging at all. Heh heh...heh...dear gosh, I still sometimes slip up and say Force India... This is going to go...well, it’ll be something alright. :P

So, FP1 is just about to start up! I’m going to grab some coffee and get ready for this F1 season to officially start!
