a/n: this is probably the most depressing thing i’ve written. it’s just all sad, no happy ending, no fluff, sorry! :/ loosely based off the song “Dancing with your Ghost” by Sasha Sloan, which was like my fav song for a whole ass month. it’s a really good song, highly recommend :)

     11:47. Fuck. You’re going to be late. You waved down the bartender and held up two fingers, signaling for two more beers. It’s fine, you could surely be late just this once. He’d forgive you, right? He always did. You finished the last few sips of your previous beer just as the bartender came to you with two more clutched in his hands. You dropped a $50 in front of him and started leisurely sipping your next beer, slowly feeling your sense of reality fade away. 

     Another half hour and you’d finished both beers. Stumbling slightly, you got up and started your trek back to your dingy Queens apartment. You only lived a few blocks from the bar so you made in home what seemed like record time, but who could really tell when you were two shots away from blacking out. The smell of weed, smoke, and old books filled your nose when you entered your apartment. The old book smell had always been a part of you. You were supposed to be an english major, in fact, this would have been your second year of your bachelors. What a fucking waste. Guess whatever talent you had in english didn’t do you any good. The weed and smoke were new scents that always seemed to follow you. After the incident you couldn’t just talk about your feelings like everyone else had. That didn’t nearly calm the throbbing in your chest or the screaming in your head. You needed something more. Something to make the world go quiet. 

     You walked around piles of laundry and old take out containers to make your way to your room, no doubt where the smell was the strongest. You walked into the room and closed the door behind you, pushing a towel in the crack between the door and the floor to prevent any draft from getting in. You then went to your window and locked it, doing the same with smaller dish rags. No drafts. That’s the only way to know that it’s real. That he’s really there. 

     You scrambled around the room a bit more in your drunken haze and found the disk for your old favorite song. His favorite song too. You put it in the CD player and let the album play a few songs while you searched in the mess of books and dust for a pack of cigarettes. You found a half empty pack just as the song you were waiting for started to play. The soft jazz melody floated through the air and you lit a cigarette, breathing it in slowly, feeling your nerves slightly calm. Talking to him always made you nervous, even when you both could practically feel the love you had for one another, he still made your stomach do somersaults. 

     Just as the first line of the song was echoing through the room, you felt it. The light breeze encompassing your body. He was here. 

     You sat on the bed and waited for him to give you a sign again. It only took a few moments for a slight dip in your bed to appear beside you. Any other person would’ve never even noticed the change, but not you, you were too attentive, too desperate to believe he was there. The temperature in the room had dropped significantly and you held your knees to your chest to preserve body heat, all while looking at the little dip in the comforter. 

     “Peter,” you sighed, smiling softly at the empty space where he would be. “Sorry, I know I’m late.” 

     Your words into the void were only met with silence, they always were though. You sniffled and took another drag from your cigarette. “Just been real hard, y’know? I can’t seem to sleep without a drink or two. I just don’t like how loud everything is.” You shrugged, once again only met with silence. The dip in the bed remained, not wavering in the slightest. 

     You sighed, once again feeling defeated not being able to hear his voice or words of encouragement. “You never let me say goodbye y’know.” You said, casually. “I came to the hospital three times that week. Stayed for over four hours each time. I didn’t—I didn’t know you had already left. Nobody told me jack shit.” Tears of frustration and anguish welled  up in your eyes. Still, you were only met with silence. The song that sifted through the room had stopped and the album continued on. 

     “I know I shouldn’t say this, but, why’d you do it? Huh? Why couldn’t you have just saved yourself? Just this once.” You sniffled. “I know, it’s selfish to say that. But I just—” you huffed out a short sob, “love is a selfish thing, I suppose. Cus’ you know I’d do anything to have you back. Anything.”

     You wallowed in the silence for the next couple of minutes, taking a drag of your cigarette here and there. 

     “I think I’m going insane.” You finally said. “I mean, I’m talking to myself, thinking that you’re really here listening.” You wiped your tired eyes and looked at the dip in the bed more intently. “But you are here, aren’t you? You’d never disappoint me by not showing up, right?” 

     You shifted around on the bed, finally settling on laying on your back, head turned to continue to stare at the dip. 

     “Even if I am crazy and I’m talking to myself right now, can you blame me? I was finally happy and it only lasted a few months. Of course I’d be off the rails by now.” You stated, trying to think logically if all these ‘encounters’ with Peter had only been in your head. 

     “Doesn’t matter anyways. It’s better tricking myself into believing you’re here than knowing you’re not.” Your eyes started to droop no matter how desperately you wanted to keep them opened to continue your conversation. 

     “Peter, I’m so tired.” You sighed, closing your eyes, sticky with tears. “If I go to sleep, promise you’ll visit again?” 

     Your mind started falling, slowly plummeting into a deep state of unconsciousness. You hummed out more unintelligible nonsense in a feeble attempt to stay awake. Just before the lights in your mind went completely out, you heard a soft, barely there voice come for the dip in the bed, 

     “Promise.”

Hakumyu Tag Game!

From allyyyyy0619. Ever since Harada-hen many people were discussing about Hakumyu in many social medias. And I had this thought of creating a hakumyu tag game (yes it’s pretty random xD) Actually if anyone has seen something like this that has been done before pls let me know and I’ll probably just delete this xD. Alright, here are some questions and have fun! :D

1. Which musical was the first that you have watched? Your impressions on the overall production?

I’m pretty sure I went in order so the first one for me was obviously Saitou-Hen. I’ve had a strange relationship with HakuMyu. I watched Saito - Shinsengumi Kitan within the space of like two weeks so it’s all mashed together in my mind. I only just recently did a proper rewatch of the entire series where I took my time on each stage. It’s clearly obvious to see the massive production value step up they’ve had over the years. I’ve always enjoyed the songs though; the songs have always been top-notch. Naturally some dodgy casting choices also but we can forgive them because the overall product is great fun even if it’s a ‘rip out your heart and feels’ kind of fun.

I’m putting two and three together because it’s the same answer for me: Harada-Hen. 

Just putting it out there. I’ve only seen two HakuMyus in person (Live 2 and HaradaHen) and they are definitely my favourite two. Harada-Hen was this MASSIVE change and step up. It’s phenomenal how different the entire production is in Harada-Hen. 

Also with the previous HakuMyus I struggle to get past the half way point without wanting/needing to turn it off and take a break from it. Not because they’re boring just because I naturally can’t watch a full stage in one sitting at home. I’ve gotten into the habit of turning stages off at the half way point and leaving the rest til the next day. So I naturally get fidgety and stuff now after about an hour and I have to say that’s MY fault and just ruining my own enjoyment of stages xD I’m weird okay...

But I saw HaradaHen FOUR times (and in the flesh) and was not bored at all in fact I hated when we got to the break so it’s definitely a special HakuMyu to me/ Same with Live 2.

Also can I get the CD of all the songs from HaradaHen asap?! Seriously the songs this time around were all amazing! I easily accepted all the new songs straight away!

AND we finally got a proper happy ending in HaradaHen too so it wins int erms of story for happy endings xD

4. Which musical is your least favourite in terms of the song performances and why?

I’ve been relistening to the soundtracks constantly recently trying to figure out which are best and such, and let me tell you: the OkitaHen songs and soundtrack is SO bad! 

Usually I delete songs if I don’t like them one-by-one on my iPhone and seriously I think my OkitaHen album has only about 3 songs left in it, all the others (Hijikata-Hen, Live, Saito-Hen etc.) are still full albums on my iPhone xD just OkitaHen songs, just no.

5. Which musical is your least favourite in terms of the storyline and why?

HA this one is easy: Kazama-Hen. Without getting too hatey - Chizuru is a fucking dumb bitch iwho is responsible for everyone’s deaths and unhappiness in this one. I am never rewatching Kazama-Hen just because of how ANGRY her and her choices make me in this one.

6. The musical that you didn’t initially love, but has/have grown on you?

Pretty much all of them? First time around they were all just one big mush but rewatching them for a second time, I’ve started seeing their differences and each one’s charm. But the biggest surprise... Reimeiroku. First time around I was like ‘wtf we need this?!’ and then the second time around I got to know Serizawa more and realised he had this whole disease and stuff going on and I was immediately totally into it!

7. Original or latest casts?

LATEST! Seriously, after Harada-Hen my ranking has changed completely! Before HaradaHen I was like ‘NO ONE can surpass Shuuto as Shinpachi! NO ONE! He is perfect!’ and then I left HaradaHen and was like ‘Shuuto who? He got nothing in Fukuyama!’ xD and we all know my deep dislike for 2nd Gen Shinsengumi like Shohei and RenRen (not the actors themselves but as the HakuMyu characters). I am SO in love with Fukuyama, Tsubasa and Naya as their HakuMyu characters <3 they’re perfect.

8. Live 1 or Live 2?

LIVE 2!!!!!!!! << I’m MakiChan bias and we got to see him shirtless and it was my first HakuMyu in the flesh so yeah, LIVE 2!!!

9. Favourite actors/characters?

10. Actor/actress whom you think has the best vocal skills?

Ooooh this one is a juicy question... I’ve actually enjoyed Kikuchi Mika, Fujikoso Yumi and Isobe Karin as Chizuru, but the best...

Actor would be naturally either Yazaki or Shougo

Actress would be... I’m going to stay bias and say Karin <3 I freaking love her and her arrangement was a little different to previous Myus too which was interesting. After Karin then Yumi me thinks.

11. Actor/actress whom you think did the best in bringing out the character into life

Oh jesus this one is hard... The actor who straight away nailed their character I think is Fukuyama Shoudai and Ikeda Junya. Everyone else seemed to take about 2 or 3 Myus to really understand their character. MakiChan is almost there, Gaku finally got it down this time around. Even Yazakai and Shougo took a few Myus to get their characters just right also.

12. HIjikata,Souji,Saito or Harada,Shinpachi,Heisuke?

This is interesting... I’m going to the San Bakas just because my deep deep hate for Hijikata is never going to go, sorry Okita xD -- Yes, I HATE Hijikata! Always have, always will! Come at me!

Fukuyama Shoudai and Kizu Tsubasa. I had like NO opinion of them after and during Live 2 but thanks to the DVD release event and HaradaHen, I am so in love with them as their characters!

I already mentioned this too: Second Gen Saito and Heisuke. Shohei and RenRen are perfectly fine actors, but they were just NOT suitable for these roles and characters. Espceially when you compare them to Ryo, Naya, Ikeda and Tsubasa. AND we can all agree was Hide’s Hijikata was a mistake too, right?

Chizuru’s Yoiyami no Machi -- I am so in love with this son! Any time it comes on I try my bloody hardest to sing it even though I’m tone deaf xD

Kazama’s Itsuka Makotoni is a great song too! I didn’t like it so much at first but I love the Hijikata version with Chizuru’s screaming and shouting in it xD

Also the new Eating song from Shinsengumi Kitan I HATED at first but now I love doing the little dance bob along with the cast and stuff. It’s no drinking song or kinniku love but it’s fun xD

24. Which production are you most looking forward to?

One where Yamazaki doesn’t die xD

Also I really want Yamazaki-Hen and Shinpachi-Hen SO LONG as TakaChan and Shoudai are the leads.

25. What does Hakumyu means to you?

Oh this is difficult. I haven’t even been in this fandom one year yet! I guess I’m only just starting to figure out what HakuMyu is to me. I mean it has things I love: It’s a musical, it has some of my (now) fav actors in, it’s got demons, it has both amazing feelings and also rip your heart out feelings. I think the main charm of HakuMyu is that although it’s technically an awful story, they make it fun and enjoyable and you enjoy going through that pain with the characters and every time the stages are a little different and the songs (we all know) are amazing. But yeah.. I’m still figuring out what it means to me. Definitely HaradaHen 10000% captured the real and true heart of Hakuouki for me personally.

Alright! I’m Done!

MY SECOND BLOG!! It only took me about a week or so to make one.. my bad. Let's talk about school. School, it may be the reason I haven't wrote anything or had anything to write about...? Okay, that's the truth. That is why I haven't made a second blog. I have no friends in Drivers Ed, so I'm sitting here typing this out on my phone because I can't seem to find any motivation to study for my test in approximately twelve minutes. Soooo, I'm going to tell you all about my weekend!! It all started Friday, I made it through my first week as a sophomore!! That is honestly so shocking to me, I only shed a few tears and had two or three breakdowns. #NewRecord - jk jk. But, when I got home I got ready to go out to dinner with a friend... BEN!!! I had such an amazing night from the decision to get mozzarella sticks or not, several glasses of sweet tea, almost ordering a grilled cheese (I didn't realize that was what it was...) endless bottomless fries that we didn't as lo for, walking across busy streets to go get ice cream but end up getting Starbucks, and saying my goodbyes for the next month... I held it together and did not cry when we dropped him off, but my heart surely hurt watching him leave. After several sweet goodbye texts that night, I went into a deep slumber. (I spelt so hard for about eleven hours... I was tired from my exhausting high schooler life)... okay quick update: I had to stop writing because I had to go to seventh... BUT I ACED MY TEST SO GO ME! Now, as I sit for the final bell to ring, I will pick up where I left off... I woke up Saturday morning fully refreshed from a week that had definitely taken its toll on me. I woke up and made myself a good breakfast (2 scrambled eggs with a bagel covered in cream cheese and a glass of coffee) then started my day. I drove to Opelika to get lunch... majority of it ended up on me instead of inside of my mouth...! But then I drove all the way to Atmore, Alabama (on the interstate.. which is kinda scary for it only being like my second time driving on the interstate) but we had such a good girls weekend. My mom, nana, and I all spent the day chatting and eating... mostly eating. I saw a casino for the first time in my life!! I was so shocked and stunned about what it looked like. But then, we went to enter the Gary Allan concert... and an officer checked my ID to see if I was sixteen (I am not sixteen for another month) and he either 1. Counted wrong or 2. Just let me slide by. I don't know, but I was so shook. The concert started shortly after and I danced and sung my little heart out. I'm beyond thankful for my parents who introduced me to him at the age of three. The first song I ever learned was a Gary Allan song. One of my earliest memories is sitting in our house in South Carolina, playing Nothing On But The Radio on repeat and singing it to the top of my baby lungs. After the concert ended, i of course was hungry and needed a snack. So, we stopped to get me food and then I stayed in the hotel while my Mom and Nana went to gamble. (obvi I am too young for all that) I remember falling asleep while watching Say Yes To The Dress and drinking a Diet Coke. I woke up the next morning from a crazy dream... that I won't get into because it's legit, like I said, crazy. But we went to get breakfast, then drove home. On the way home, we stopped at World Market (one of my fav stores) and I bought this super cute new purse, I love it, and then went to Target. I finally purchased a planner to stay organized. I then finally got home... then I FaceTimed Ben!! And I was so excited to talk to him, I'm already missing him. He showed me his dorm room and partial parts of the campus. I send my love and prayers that you enjoy your time down there!! But then, I started homework, studied, ate dinner, showered, watched Big Brother, spent the night ranting about crazy rules we have to school, and then went to bed... to only wake up to a new week to start. Sooo, until next week, or until I have another eventful weekend or day to post about, I hope you enjoyed!!
