In Akt 8, Edel shows Duck the gem shaped like two hearts intertwined—courage, meaning that she and someone else must work together. She considers teaming up with Rue or Mytho, but neither options work.

Then by the time of Akt 12, she and Fakir team up together. And it’s through them supporting each other during the journey of helping Mytho that both find the courage to defy their fates: Fakir refusing to die and Duck refusing to vanish.

And throughout the 2nd season, you see both of them inspiring the other, like Duck pushing Fakir to confront his rewriting reality powers and Fakir giving Duck the strength to return to her true self.
