For #WomensHistoryMonth I’ve been showcasing incredible women who exhibit rising feminine leadership and the powerful messages that drive them to shine. I hope you have found inspiration to develop your unique voice too. I’m not too proud to share my own image and message within this container because showing up, standing out and serving my purpose is what I support other women in doing and I know the more examples we see of that the better. When asking women to #showUp in their unique style of #FeminineLeadership I’m also asking myself to see them as their Higher Self —which is my superpower. I’m not toned and trim, I don’t have a smooth hairless body, I‘m not in love with my skin color, but I wore a bikini in Puerto Rico last week on the beach and celebrated life. My chaffed thighs and bikini bumps and cellulite saw the sun and I ate meat on a stick and drank fancy cocktails without worrying about calories or what other people thought. If any of this makes you cringe, thinking “Good for you, but no way could I possibly…” here’s the secret —it’s HARD and it takes a lot of WORK. Not hard work to “not care” or to manipulate my body into a configuration “I can deal with”, it takes a lot of hard work looking at myself and accepting myself and retraining my brain. Are you hard on yourself? Do you hold yourself to unrealistic beauty standards? Is there a nagging villain voice in your ear telling you “You’re not ______ enough”, despite knowing deep down inside that you’re perfect just the way you are? We can truly be our own worst enemy. We can “know” we’re good enough, but how do we really believe it? I love teaching women how to protect themselves against themselves! I am a secular humanist, that's what I believe.

Behind. But if you met my 8 year old self I loved being in front, and then I saw what I looked like and never went before a camera again.
