❝ huh... wuh? oh! ❞ Ezreal'd almost completely forgotten he was out in public, what with the library being as quiet and serene as it was. it was a strange place to find him in, but he wasn't here for himself you see; oh no. he was on a mission, an errand for Aphelios, picking up a rare music catalog that'd apparently just arrived in this place today. supposedly you could rent and buy books in this particular library, and it was a place that Aphelios usually frequented himself. but as he was busy looking after his sister today, he'd asked Ezreal to go out and fetch it for him instead. && Ezreal being the charming and reliable person that he was ( he wasn't ) had happily agreed to come out and get it for him. after all, what're friends for!?

THE ROSEWELL GALA

The night we’ve all been waiting for is finally here; the Rosewell Gala. With the theme this year being ‘Gods & Monsters’ it’s time to go all out and show the world that you’ve learnt as much as you can this week about image and presenting yourself as a star. Remember, it’s very rare that publicity ever turns out to be a bad thing. This event is the definition of luxurious and elite. Everything has to be perfect, or everything you’ve worked for so far may crumble before your eyes...

WHAT IS IT?

The Rosewell Gala is everything and nothing at the same time. The guests are given a theme to which they need to dress appropriately. A three course meal will be served and there’ll also be entertainment. Around the gallery, you’ll also be able to find works of fashion and art from various creators. You can only perform or host an exhibit IF you’re invited to. After the dinner, you’ll be brought to the back room where there’ll be a party with an open bar and music.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

The theme is ‘Gods & Monsters’. You wear what you think is appropriate. The whole point on the event is to see if you know how to make a statement by yourself; it’d be too easy if we told you the do’s and don’ts.

HOW WILL POINTS WORK FOR THIS EVENT?

See below how points will be rewarded and deducted for this event:

MUST HAVES for newborn twins:

BOPPY NEWBORN LOUNGER!!! - ESSENTIAL for bottle feeding two screaming babies at once, good for naps (babies should ALWAYS be supervised if napping in them due to suffocation risk). They’re about $35 each and I found mine at Target. They’re so essential I bought an additional set for my parent’s house for when they babysit so we’re not constantly toting them back and forth.

4moms mamaRoo: So, I have one of your run of the mill swings for my babies, which is wonderful, but sometimes a fussy babe just needs something a lil extra; the mamaRoo is EXACTLY the thing for that. With five different motion settings, five speeds for each, and four different preset audio choices and an auxiliary function for your phone, this thing soothes my screaming, fussy children almost instantly when nothing else works. They’re also a good, gentler option for reflux babies you don’t want swinging back and forth, effectively turning baby into a volcano. Now I’m not saying run out and buy two, at $176 each brand new they’re not the cheapest thing ever. But I have one I bought used (so my model is a bit older, it looks like there’s a new gen out) and if I had the option or finances to buy another one, you’re darn tootin’ that I would.

Zip sleepers: y’all. I have SO many cute snap up sleepers for my babies.. but the million snaps drive me INSANE at diaper changes. I just don’t have the patience for them, and frankly, neither do my 2 month old children. The quicker the diaper change, the better in our book. Target has them I believe, and you can always trust Amazon to have what you need, when you need.

GRIPE WATER!!!!!!: Now, always consult with your pediatrician before giving ANY types of supplements or OTC meds of ANY kind before you administer them to your babies. But, with that being said, Gripe Water is a GODSEND. It’s a bit expensive at $10 per 4oz, and with us having twins and giving it in their milk at damn near every feeding.... we run thru the stuff. But I can DEF tell when they haven’t had it, so we use it constantly. It makes for happier babies, and a happier momma. They ALSO make a NIGHTTIME version, I recently discovered, and my babies never slept so well thru the night and it’s a blessing I will not give up.

GAS DROPS: Another must-have we use at every feeding is gas drops. Now again, consult with your pediatrician before giving them to your baby. Like the gripe water, we mix it in with the milk in their bottles to prevent them from just spitting it right back out. Cause then you don’t know how much they got, if any, and you’re pretty much SOL so that you don’t end up overdosing your child.

A Variety of Pacifiers: These are trial and error. If you’re breastfeeding exclusively it’s recommended to hold off on pacifiers for I BELIEVE 2-3 weeks to prevent nipple confusion. Hayden (my baby B) loves only the Phillips AVENT Soothies. NOT the vanilla scented which are supposed to be calming. The vanilla scented ones make both my babies gag for some reason? It may be because when they had feeding tubes in the NICU, the pacifiers they used were vanilla scented and they have an aversion because of that? Who knows. But Harlow (my baby A) loves both the AVENT Soothies (non vanilla), AND the Baby King pacifiers? I have NO clue where they’re from. Dollar Tree?? I got them at my baby shower and Harlow actually PREFERS these over the AVENT ones. Wild stuff. 😂

Soothing Babywash and Lotion: you won’t regret using calming nighttime scents for your babies baths, esp if your baby doesn’t enjoy bath time. We always try to do bath time before their last feeding of the day before bed, and Tho they’re not the biggest fans, we ALL sleep much better on bath nights because of this. We use the Johnson&Johnson brand and have had no issues with the products.

Dishwasher Basket for Bottle Parts: necessary for the standard size bottle nipples, pacifiers, tiny breastpump parts, Dr Browns vent bottle parts, etc. to keep them from either getting lost or melting in the lower part of the dishwasher when they inevitably fall to their death from the top rack of your dishwasher. Amazon has all the options you could possibly need. My husband found mine on clearance at Walmart 😂😅

LOTS OF BURP CLOTHS: At least for us- our babies spit up A LOT. Reflux is a real problem for us. The BEST ones we’ve found so far are the Gerber Newborn Baby Unisex Prefold White Gauze 6-Ply Cloth Diaper, 5-Pack; make sure they are the PREFOLD! We bought a pack thinking they were the thick ones and they were like the single ply super thin cloths that weren’t good for jacksquat. 😭

Bottle warmer: we got the munchkin bottle warmer (I got one at Walmart that now lives at my moms, and a slightly more stylish version at Target, same brand/model just different color) and it warms bottles in 90 seconds or less! Note that if you use the Dr. Browns bottles with the vents, take the vent out while heating or it could overflow, causing a sticky&stinky mess!!

ALSO, while we’re on the topic of Dr. Browns bottles, the 8oz size makes it the PERFECT size for heating two newborn feedings in one bottle so you don’t have to heat two separate times. For example: my babes both get about 3-3.5oz each at a feeding, and I just pour 6-7oz in the big bottle and heat it up! I use the cap from a spare milk collection bottle from the hospital that I had, or you could just use the nipple that comes on the 8oz bottles, either way! I’ll make a post later over how feeding times go with my little ones.

Travel Changing Pad- I use this on the go for sure, but if there’s ever any especially nasty diapers to be dealt with, I whip this baby out at home and my couch, bed, carpet, wherehaveyou stays pristine. Magic.

WALMART BRAND DIAPERS: my favorite brand name diapers are Pampers. That’s what they used in the hospital and I LOVED them. Then I realized how expensive they were. Omg no. And my mom let me in on a little secret: the Walmart brand are almost exactly the same as Pampers, if not THE same. They are just as reliable and the blowouts I’ve dealt with in them, are equivalent to the blowouts in Pampers. And those were the apocalyptic type diaper changes where even God himself could not stop that s*** from coming thru. Bless.

LAUNDRY DETERGENT: PODS. PODS. PODS. Pods for YOUR laundry, and the Tide free and clear or whatever their dye free/scent free pods are for the babies’ laundry. The simplicity and time saving nature of just throwing pods in the laundry instead of measuring detergent saves so much time you didn’t realize you needed. “But...Does it really make that much of a difference?” Yes. Yes it does.

A SLEEP MASK FOR YOU MOMMA!! (and for dad): NAP WHEN YA CAN!! A sleep mask is perfect for when you manage to get both babies down at the same time in the middle of the day and you want some sleep too!!! Essential in my book.

What DIDN’T Work for Us:

HALO TWIN BASSINET: Y’all-I wanted to love this SO badly; with completely mesh sides and a mesh divider so you can see both babies always, and it SWIVELS to get to whichever baby may need you, and the sides lean down slightly to get them out of the bassinet without you having to get out of bed. But...my babies HATED this, it’s quite large even for a double bassinet, and the price tag is even larger at $470 retail. And it’s immobile. Once it’s in one spot, that’s where it lives until you completely disassemble it. I much rather would’ve spent about 1/4 of the price on the Little Folks Twin EZ Fold Ultra Compact Double Bassinet by Delta Children, (available online at Walmart) at $138 that not only wheels to where you need it, but FOLDS UP when not in use or for travel.. at least if my twins hated it too, I wouldn’t have spent half a house payment on it.

HALO SLEEPSACK: ....Sorry again Halo... We had the Halo SleepSack that got sent home with us from the hospital, and tbh they were just okay in my opinion. My girls somehow would wiggle further into them (this may just be a preemie baby problem, we finally quit using them.), and their faces would get covered or their arms would escape thru the little openings in the sack. I would LOVE to try the SwaddleMe or the Love to Dream Swaddle UP ones, but we’ve become pretty good at blanket swaddling for the time being. Again, these are kind of trial and error to see what your babies like. If you’re good at swaddling with a good ole fashioned blanket, that’s great!! But if you don’t have the time or patience to practice, no shame in going the easier route.

A “DIAPER PAIL”- y’all. This is the most useless thing I spent my money on. I don’t even use it. We tried to, and it’s pointless. My house doesn’t smell like baby poo, or if it does nobody has told me. The amount of diapers that we as parents of twins run thru warrants the trash being taken out almost daily, if not multiple times per day. It just wasn’t worth my money, and I bought a highly reviewed off brand. Save the cash and put it towards something extra.

A Changing Pad- Also pointless. I change my twins wherever we are in the house. If they’re really nasty I use the portable changing pad someone gifted me, the kind that folds up and fits in a diaper bag. I get that the big pad with the little sheets on it is cute for the whole nursery aesthetic, but tbh my nursery is just a room in my house that you don’t really use for a newborn (or two+) anyway. Not practical or realistic.

Baby Shoes: I, for one, don’t see the point in buying baby shoes until they’re up and walking. They outgrow them too quickly. Socks will do just fine. Unless you live in a verrrryyyy cold climate. But I’m sure they make super insulated baby onesies for those types of outings. But here, not necessary. $ave dat money.

WHAT I WISH WE HAD:

Snoo: A SMART BASSINET. It has a built in swaddle, and it rocks your baby with different speed settings, AND can detect when your baby starts to wake and will rock in response to baby fidgeting. WHAT?! I really wish I could afford even just ONE of these, let alone two. They come in at a WHOPPING $1290 😭 they apparently also have rent options? From what I’ve heard. But I can’t even imagine what being able to actually afford two bassinets for $1600 would be like. A momma can dream.

Mark Warburton looks set to give the youth ample opportunities in the first team in 2019/20 and for Marcin Brzozowski, who signed a contract extension on Tuesday that will keep him at Loftus Road until next summer, it’s an exciting time.

“Ama porque no?” Ezequiel follows you into the kitchen.

“Porque estás castigado, y que no tu papá te cacho la semana pasada en una fiesta con Cassandra?” You smirk at him.

He groans. “I didn’t know dad told you.”

“Porfavor Ezequiel, tu papá me dice todo.” You start chopping lettuce and tomatoes. “Ve a sacarme el mandado que quedó en mi carro.”

“So you’re not letting me go then?”

You place the knife down and look at him. “I told you no Ezequiel.”

“Ugh, you’re so lame.” He yells, “Why can’t you be fun like Tia Chelle?”

“Eze-“

“You always used to have my back and used to be fun. Now you’re always on my case about every little thing, it’s annoying.” He snaps.

You’re in disbelief and hurt at his choice of words, you don’t know what to say to him so you stay quiet.

But soon there’s a slam of a door coming from your home office and Jack is marching into the kitchen.

“Repeat what you just said.” He tells your son.

“Dad-“

Jack shakes his head, “Now I know you didn’t just say that to your mother, my wife” he warns, glaring at Ezequiel.

“Bubs it’s okay.” You try to calm him down.

“No it’s not okay, I didn’t raise him to be disrespectful towards you.” He shakes his head looking at EZ.

“How many times do we have to remind you that you’re grounded huh?” He takes a deep breath. “You’re grounded so that means no to going outside, but you can walk that ass upstairs to your room.”

“Dad wh-“

“I don’t want to hear another word from you right now. Go upstairs and before bed, I’m expecting a sincere apology to your mother.” He looks directly at his son. “I can’t believe the words that came out of your mouth.”

Ezequiel is defeated and walks out of the kitchen without another word.

“You okay baby?” Jack asks you, hugging you to him.

“Yeah, I’m just surprised that’s all.” You whisper.

“He’s a teenage boy, he’s going to say hurtful things, it’s not an excuse but it’s part of life. I’ll be there to set his ass straight all the time.”

You nod but don’t say anything, still a little shaken up from the words your son just said to you

“Hey, look at me.” Jack demands. “You’re the best mom our kids could ever ask for or need. Do not let what our angry sixteen year old son said get to you, because he couldn’t be more wrong.”

“He’s never been so angry with me before.”

“He’s going to have to get used to hearing no, he’s not doing well in school so until he changes that, it’s to school, practice and back home.” He lifts you up and sets you down on the counter.

You nod, “Thank you baby.”

“For what?”

“For defending me like that, it’s always hot when you get mad, your nose doing that flaring thing I like.” You shrug and wink at him. “It was so hot.”

Jack smirks. “Mhmm.” He spreads your thighs. “Let’s make him regret speaking to you that way.”

You lift up your dress, and pull it up to your chest. “Get to it papi.”

“Daddy, daddy.” Mia yells, running into the kitchen.

“Yes, my daughter?”

Jack notices Mia looking around the kitchen, then smiles wide “We have a situation.”

That has Jack alerted and sitting up straight “What’s wrong?

“Well it’s an Ezequiel situation.” She looks to the side and calls over her brother. “Tell him.”

Ezequiel shakes his head no, “Momma gonna get hurt.”

“Why would mommy get hurt little man? What’s wrong?”

“Well daddy, you know how Ez started school?” Mia asks

Jack is nodding, still very much confused. “Yeah?”

Mia smiles, patting her brother's shoulder. “Well Ez likes a girl.”

Jack perks up and smiles “Ohh does he??”

Ez hides behind his sister, chewing on a baby carrot that he somehow managed to get out from his pocket. “I guess.”

Mia rolls his eyes “He does daddy, he’s in love.” She teases.

Ezequiel starts shaking his head “not love.”

“Okay, maybe not in love like you and mommy but daddy he has a crush.” Mia giggles.

“Okay, and where do I come in on this?”

Ezequiel starts tugging at the corner of his shirt “I wanna get her flowers”

Mia smiles “See, he only buys flowers for mommy so he really likes this girl.”

Jack nods “You want to buy her flowers little man? That’s so thoughtful of you.”

“But don’t tell momma.”

“What? Why?”

Ezequiel shrugs, “She's gonna be sad.”

Jack smiles at his son, “Your momma will understand. But if you don’t want to tell her right now then that’s totally fine.” He brushes EZ’s curls to the side, “Now, this is coming out of your piggy bank.”

Ez eyes go wide “But daddy, I don’t have money.”

“Ezequiel, we gave you your allowance last week.”

He smiles nervously, “I bought baby carrots, Uncle Druski didn’t have money so I had to buy them with my money.”

Mia chuckles, “Uncle Dru never has money for us, but when he goes sees girls dance, he’s rich.”

Jack gasps, “ALIZE MIA HARLOW.”

“What? What did I do?”

Jack shakes his head, “I don’t even want to know where you know that from.”

Mia shrugs, “Uncle Copey and Sunni told Nino Urb last night.”

Ez groans, “So can we go buy the flowers before bed time?”

“Yeah, let’s go little man. Mia, you stay here with your mom.”

Mia nods, “I’m not lying if she asks where you two went.”

Jack rolls his eyes, “Girl, I’m not asking you to, just tell her we went to run a quick errand.”

“Isn’t that lying?”

“Mia, noo, because that’s what we’re doing.”

“Okay, okay geesh.” Mia rolls her eyes. “Hurry up”

“So little man.” Jack starts, looking down at Ezequiel. “Do you know which ones you want?”

He shrugs, staring at all the different colors of flowers scattered around. “I don’t know.”

“That’s totally fine, what’s her favorite color?”

Ezequiel groans, “I don’t know.”

Jack chuckles, “What color is her backpack and lunchbox?”

“Ohhh, it’s pink.”

“So get her pink ones.”

He nods, “Thank you daddy.” He starts looking around at every bucket that’s filled with different kinds of flowers and roses until he finds the one he thinks is perfect.

Jack and Ezequiel are walking around the flower shop, with the flowers EZ had picked, until he makes a quick stop.

“What’s wrong?” Jack asks him.

Ezequiel looks up at him, “You buy momma some too.”

“From you?” Jack raises his eyebrows.

“Us two.” He shrugs, thinking hard.

“Hmm, okay, your plan and I’m listening.” Jack takes out his phone. “Let’s hurry up because your mom is wondering where we’re at.”

Ezequiel gasps, “Mia.”

“She probably didn’t say anything, don’t worry little man.”

Jack and Ezequiel were about to walk into the house but the little man was worried, fidgeting with the little flowers on his arms.

“What if momma is there?”

“She’s gonna be there bud, just run straight to your bedroom and I’ll handle your mother.”

Ezequiel sighs, “Okay, let’s do this.” He pushes the door open as he walks in slowly, Jack following behind him with a smile on his face.

Once they make it towards the living room, Ezequiel looks back at Jack with worry.

“Go, I got this.” Jack nods, trying to block him from your point of view.

“I saw those, are they for me little man?” You gush.

“No, bye.” Ezequiel yells and runs away to escape into his bedroom.

You raise your eyebrows, turning your head to Jack. “What was that about?”

“Nothing.” Jack shrugs, setting the flower arrangement he had holding on the center of the coffee table.

You’re eyeing Jack, can’t help but feel that your two boys are keeping something from you.

“What? Is there something on my face?” He asks, chuckling as he sits next to you.

You raise your eyebrows at him, “What are you hiding?”

“Baby relax, it’s nothing.”

“It’s definitely something if my son ran straight to his bedroom and didn’t even come to hug me or kiss me.” You cross your arms, “He always does, no matter if he was gone for a few or for hours, he always hugs me and gives me my cheesy kisses. So what did you do to my son?”

“What did I do? Why do I always have to do something?” He laughs.

“Because, you, Urban and Clay are always up to no good when it comes to my children.”

“I promise you, it’s nothing big nor bad.” He pats his chest, “Now lay that pretty head on me, and let’s watch this movie.”

Before you could answer him, you hear footsteps coming down the stairs, you look up and see both your kids walking into the living room.

Mia instantly skips over to the couch, smirking. You already she’s up to no good.

“Mom, guess what?”

“Mia.” Jack warns.

You look between them three. “What Mia?”

“Oh nothing.” Mia chuckles.

Ezequiel, who was standing by the couch, was deep in thought. “¿Qué tienes mi niño?”

He looks up at you and tugs at the zipper of his hoodie. “Can I tell you something?”

“Of course mi vida, always.”

“Promise you won’t get mad?”

You quickly turn to look at Jack, but he’s smirking too, identical as Mia’s little smirk. If there is one thing your husband and daughter share, it is how they love to stir the pot, and play pranks. They love to team up and make everyone around them sweat.

“Momma?” Ezequiel’s soft little voice brings you back.

“Yes, sorry baby.” You smile at him. “What’s going on?”

“I buy flowers.”

You nod, “I know I saw them, they’re beautiful baby.”

“But they not for you this time.”

You try your best to conceal your shocked reaction. “Ohhh??” You cough, “so who are they for?”

He starts fidgeting, patting his pockets and when he can’t find what he was looking for, he starts scratching the side of his thumbs with his index fingers and looking around the living room.

“Here little man.” Jack hands him one of his many little fidget toys.

“Thank yous.” He takes a deep breath, squeezing the fidget toy.

“Ezequiel, todo esta bien mi amor, ven.” You reach out for him, he takes hold of your hand and you pull him in and sit him between you and Jack. “Whoever the flowers are for, it’s okay baby. I’m not mad.”

“But momma.” He whispers. “It’s for a girl.”he covers his face with his hands.

“A girl? What girl?”

“Cheesy has a little crush on a girl from his class. He wanted to buy her flowers but didn’t want you to get upset because he always gets you some with daddy.” Mia says, she makes her way to you and Ezequiel, she kneels down to be in front of her brother.

“Cheesy, it’s okay.” She ruffles his little curly hair. “I was kidding when I said she’ll be hurt.”

“Mia.” You gasp out.

“Sorry.”

Jack shakes his head at his daughter, but reaches for Ezequiel and puts him on his lap. “Little man, everything is okay.”

“But is momma okay?” He asks worriedly.

That tugs at your heartstrings, your little boy worried about your feelings and how you’ll react, is definitely making you feel emotional.

“I’m okay baby.” You smile at him. “I think it’s nice and thoughtful that you bought a classmate some beautiful flowers. I bet she’ll love them.”

“So you’re not mad?” He looks at you.

You shake your head, “Never, you spoil me so much with flowers everyday, I’m lucky.”

He takes a breath of relief and hugs you. “You’re the best.”

“No, you are.”

He smiles, “You always my number one girl.”

“HEY WHAT ABOUT ME?” Mia pouts out.

“You after momma.”

She rolls her eyes, “I’ll take it I guess.”

“I’m going out with your aunts, baby.” You finish tying your heel and go stand in front of the mirror to look at your entire outfit for the night.

EZ comes to stand next to you, looking at you through the mirror “You look so cute”

You can’t help but smile “Thank you my sweet boy.”

“Stay here with us?” He pouts

“Oh baby, I promised your tias I would go out.” You kneel to be eye level with him. “Tomorrow I’ll stay home all day and we’ll do some fun stuff.”

He shakes his head and looks at his Jack. “Daddy, tell momma she stays here wiff us.”

“Your mom deserves some time out with her friends.”

“B-but she looks too cute.”

You can’t help but chuckle and stand up, Jack winks at you from his spot on the bed, “He’s definitely my son.”

Jack Harlow x Reader : COACH HARLOW

A/N : Thanks to my bby @harlowsbby for this beautiful idea. I hope I did it justice 💜 & to @harlowcomehome for always reassuring me about my writing because I was doubting this one bad.

Today was an exciting day, it was the 4th annual kickball tournament of The Homies, and your husband was going to join in on the fun.

The kids were also excited about it, it’s all they’ve been talking about non stop since they found out, even asking if they could be on the team and play.

You were finishing up getting EZ dressed so you can meet Jack at the stadium. “Momma, is daddy wearing shirt like me?”

You nod, tying his New Balance shoes “Yess baby, even the same shoes.”

“Yay, we gonna be twinsies.”

“Cheesy, you need to get a hat because daddy is wearing that too.” Mia announces as she’s making her way inside the bedroom. “Oh and some shades.”

“Momma, I don’t have hats or shades.” He gasps.

You smile at him, “Don’t worry baby, daddy called me saying he’s got you covered with that. Now let’s head out.”

“Mommy.” Mia giggles. “Look at nino Urby, he’s all tanned and his shorts are really, really short.”

You look ahead and find Urban standing next to Cole and Jack, and Mia was indeed correct. “He’s just like your father, being out in the sun too much will get them all burned quickly.”

“But daddy is really pale, like his shirt, momma.”

“EZEQUIEL.” You laugh. “You’re correct but still don’t say that to him.”

Mia nods “Come on Cheesy, let’s go annoy uncle Ace and Shloob.” She takes a hold of her brothers hand and they run off.

Jack spots you and smiles at you and starts jogging your way.

“Well you look hot.” You tell him as soon as he’s in front of you. “My kids are somewhere around bothering their uncles. Do you want to sneak off somewhere before my husband notices??”

Jack rolls his eyes, pulling you in. “Role play only in bed.” He gives you a quick kiss. “Those were your words if I recall correctly.”

You shrug and tug at his KY necklace. “You know I’m a mess when you wear this chain.”

“Yeah, that’s why I wore it.”

“Mhmm.” You look at him up and down. “I love that the jerseys have your foundation logo.”

“You did good by suggesting it.”

“I know, you should listen to your wife more.” You smirk.

“Don’t I always?” He raises his eyebrows but before you could answer him, your two children were tackling their father to the ground.

You can’t help but smile and admire them, Jack really is a great father and you couldn’t be more thankful for him.

“Daddy, I need hat and shades like yours so we can be twinems.”

“Neelam has that for you little man.” Jack stands up from the ground, the kids attached to him like some koalas. “You guys want to learn how to play?”

EZ nods excitedly, while Mia pulls away and stands in front of her father, raising her eyebrows at him. “Isn’t it just kicking the ball and running around?”

You can’t help but let out a little chuckle at Jack’s offended look on his face. “Not exactly.” He signals Urban to throw him the ball.

“So this is what you do.” Jacks starts, earning a groan from his oldest, but an excited shriek from his youngest.

After thirty minutes of Jack explaining to the kids how kickball works, he’s ready to let them have a little practice game with the guys.

“Remember Mia, you kick the ball from the side of your foot, not the front.”

That has her groaning, “Dad, I thought that was for soccer.”

Everyone chuckles, which causes Mia to glare at all of her uncles and her dad. “It’s not even funny, so I don’t know why you’re all laughing.”

“Damn, she’s a feisty little seven year old huh?” Cole asks Jack

“Oh, you have no idea.” Jack smiles, nodding.

“Daddy, can we play now?” Ezequiel asks.

“Yeah, you’re up first little man.”

Urban rolls the ball towards Ezequiel and to your surprise he ends up kicking it really far and and hard.

“RUN EZ”

“GO GO GO.”

“HELL YEAH LITTLE MAN.”

“HE GETS THAT KICK FROM ME.” Urban yells the last part.

Jack rolls his eyes “Keep thinking that.”

Ezequiel makes it to third base and does a little shake of his body to celebrate his success. “Your turn Mia bug.” He yells to his sister.

“Nino Urb, not too hard okay?”

Urban nods, “I got you princess.” He tosses the ball towards Mia but she misses and doesn’t kick it. “It’s okay, you get three tries.”

“Throw it straight, you’re throwing it to the side and I’m right here.” Mia grumbles out.

“Keep your eyes on the ball Mia.” Jack yells.

“What do you think I’m doing?”

You chuckle but not loud enough that she can hear you. “Mia, está bien mami, tú puedes.”

She turns to look at you, pouting “Pero se están riendo de mí.”

“Guys, can you please not laugh? She’s trying her best.”

“Mia, I’m tossing it slower this time okay?” Urban yells.

Mia nods and waits for the ball to be a foot closer so she can kick it. “YES” she yells as she sees that she ended up kicking it and tries to run to second base but she ends up kicking the ball straight into Urban’s hands.

“MIA YOU’RE OUT.” Nemo yells.

You, Jack and Urban glare at him, while Mia stops mid run and sees Urban drop the ball immediately.

“UGH I DON’T WANNA PLAY ANYMORE.” She stomps her way towards you and hugs your legs. “Nino Urby, why did you catch it? And Nemo, you are annoying.”

Urban smiles sadly at her “I didn’t catch it, you have good aim that you kicked it into my hands bug.” You know he’s lying but you’re not about to make your daughter feel worse.

“Daddy, I hate this game and I don’t want to play.”

“She’s competitive like you, Jackman.” Cole adds.

Jack starts jogging his way towards you and Mia once he notices that she really is frustrated and got her feelings hurt about the game.

Jack kneels in front of her “Mia, baby?”

“Hmm?” Is all she mutters out, scrubbing at her eyes.

“You and I are the same, you know?” He stands up and holds Mia to him. “We both love to win and we hate when the game doesn’t go our way, but we have to realize that at the end of the day, it’s just a game and we should enjoy the time with our loved ones, just running around and laughing.”

“But daddy, what’s the fun in that? I want to win.”

You and Jack share a smile because you’ve heard him say those exact words more than you can count. “The fun is being with family.”

Mia sighs, “I guess. But is it okay if I just watch?” She looks behind Jack, towards the field “Plus, I think Cheesy is the sporty one, he did really well.”

Jack smiles, “You did too, baby.”

She rolls her eyes, “Thank you for being nice.” she taps his shoulder signaling him to let her down. “Now go win, me and mommy will be cheering you on.”

“You got it Mia.” They do their little handshake and Mia watches her dad run off towards the middle of the field where her brother and uncles were.

Mia crosses her arms, looking towards the field, then back at you with raised eyebrows. “Mommy, can we get wings and icey? It’s gonna be a long day seeing these silly boys run around in a triangle.”

You smile, and fix your sunglasses. “Yes let’s go, I’m dying in this heat.”

“How much you wanna bet daddy and uncles are gonna loose?”

You gasp, “Mia, we’re supposed to be cheering them on.”

She shrugs, “We will, but I know and you know that they’ll lose.”

“You are evil, young lady.” You shake your head.

“I get it from my daddy.” She smiles.
