An idle afternoon "What would you do without me?" said the chair to my cat. "Willingly I'll sit just anywhere for all I care," a retort from my cat that shook the chair. Rude thought the proud chair and offered for the last time, "Breezy day, I'm slightly warm, this is all the chance that you've got." With not much care, the cat replied, " To think about it, I don't want the precious emerald (eyes) to be shining that bright." Reproached chair just remarked once more, "Look at me, stare at me you idle one, when I am occupied don't you dare cry for me at all." Acknowleding though, not completely admitting, my cat finally resolved, "Alright, alright, your company, I admit, I do enjoy. So with your calming shadow let me ease my weary head and gently feel the breeze touching me, snoozing to the leaves rustling by." Celebrating one month anniversary of Benny passing away with love.. It takes courage to love someone and be vulnerable. Exposing yourself to someone with all those feelings and laying it out there takes courage no matter the strength, or the size, or which species you belong to. Timon finally sharing his vulnerability with Sunny. Last time that he was this close to someone was Boxy (our late Boxer, 2014, back when he was a six months old kitten. Since then he has been distant to all our doggos. Sunny is affectionate, and it always take two hands to clap.. So I am also grateful to Sunny for being this kind. This is when you know that your pup is now a dog.. What a blessing, all of this in front of Benny's photo.. He resides in our heart, my sunflower. Dearest Benny, How much have you explored today baba? Last I wrote I wished for you a beautiful journey of field filled with tall grass and flowers with many butterflies for you to chase. Baba I just hope you're happy/peaceful where ever you are. Wherever you are I believe you must be resting well because in that belief we three find comfort. We have missed you and made some effort in these nine days for you, for us. No smiles yet, but little efforts, taking one day at a time.. Since you've been gone... Timon has finally slept after 4 days. And now he complains about a stray called Leslie, thinks we are going adopt that kitten. He is a caring child but he is now going overboard with it. Sunny sleeps with me now, because he thinks that's where you would come out from any given moment. That's an improvement from sitting near your lit lamp (he almost burnt his nose once). That child!! They are all making progress, leaving me behind with this pain. Every early morning I sit in front of your frame, something I look forward to everyday, and your smiling face calms me down. Benny - 2nd Dec 2012 to 10th Nov 2021 To my dearest Benny, Hope you have settled in well. How many butterflies did you catch today? Does the Earth feel soft there, and does your hair still smell of sunflower? Do you have a cabin with a porch if I were to visit? Someday I'll join you too wherever you are. And, I'll be on that porch having my hot cup of tea, sitting with you resting on the hand of my armchair humming to the Beatles while observing one of kind sunrise, bathed by its different shades of hues. But before that there are different shades of sadness, that I'm still processing, to conquer. And yet, in that deep sense of loss, there is this positivity that is coming from the feeling of deep realisation that you have left behind. I came to live this understanding that a person cannot be something else of what they already are till they meet someone and realise that they can be more. Thank you Benny for this, and everyone who has met you can reciprocate the same. And, before we meet on that porch, I need to share what you gave me with others, so that I could be a better human. I need to live because this world with so many atrocities is still beautiful in it's simplicities. We can be happy if we allow ourselves to be, we can love ourselves no matter what flaws and difficulties, if we allow ourselves to! Fighting, after a while didn't make any sense or status because you realised when you are satisfied with yourself, opinions never ever matters.
