‘tHe cHoSen OnE’ but the one who chose them was just some guy who most certainly did not have his life together so i’m unsure if it’s really something to brag about
#every time someone hypes riku up as having initially been the super cool chosen one#i can’t help but think like. i understand why this was cool back in 2002 when ppl didn’t know where he got it#but in hindsight yall he was chosen by freakin terra. not saying terra isn’t epic or that that scene wasn’t incredibly beautiful and poetic#but some ppl are acting like the heavens themselves opened up and bestowed the keyblade upon riku bathed in a divine light#terra saw some random kid and was like ‘i kin him. let’s give him a weapon i think he looks trustworthy :)’#also in hindsight bc there are SO many keyblade wielders and probably bequeathments this was probably just one link in a chain of legacy#and for neku. ok joshua is obviously a deity so that’s pretty special to be singled out by the god of the city#but like. in a bad way. singled out for being the most like him also—- but that means singled out as a bad person lol#idc if josh is the composer he’s still a skinny smug crinkled receipt with mental illness#kingdom hearts#subaseka tag#the world ends with you#mine: twewy#mine: kh#this isn’t a salt post btw. i think both of these characters and their situations are super cool and awesome#i’m just fighting the narrative that these two are just typical chosen one hero archetypes bc both of them are such a huge subversion
