Balls deep in an essay right now so this is nothing but Kyle's tags on that ask do have me thinking about the narrative ties that could be made between jin guangyao who despite growing up in a brothel absolutely despises it and is deliberately cruel to brothel workers in order to advance into cultivation society whereas shen jiu abhors cultivation society and and the only place he feels truly safe is in brothels where he's seemingly close with the brothel workers
