oh my other complaint about cis intersex people today is when cis intersex people refuse to go into intersex spaces because there are "too many trans people" and they are still "normal." fuck off with that transphobic bullshit-you are not better than us!!!! if you don't want to stand with your trans, gnc, and not cis intersex friends then what the fuck do you want, and why do you want us to carry your burden of the risk when it comes to standing up against intersexism!

It's difficult for me to use Tumblr's search function. Did you reblog/make posts on "and(-etc-)nous" being an anti-intersex slur? I wanted to go back and verify that more since I'm struggling to find resources anywhere. The most I've found so far is the non-binary wiki's "and(-etc-)ne" page having an intersex mention in it but as far as I can tell slurs aren't mentioned and I don't know whether the intersex part or the article itself is iffy. On the matter and in action, I'm ignorant.
I've talked about this a few times before I think, but it was ages ago and I also can't find the posts lmao.
basically i don't really think androgynous is a slur used towards intersex people. i personally think it's fine for anyone to use as a descriptor + i think it has been sufficiently divorced from it's original etymology as essentially the latin translation of "intersex" or "hermaphrodite." So I personally don't have strong feelings about people using it, but I can understand why some intersex people do feel more uncomfortable with the word given its etymology. generally though it's really not going to be my priority to get dyadic/endosex people to stop saying androgynous i think that's like. fine.
i do have slightly stronger feelings about the word "androgyne." for some reason to me, that does feel more connected linguistically to words like hermaphrodite. i feel like the noun form can be used in similar contexts to hermaphrodite and indeed if you google it, that's going to be one of the definitions listed. i feel like it carries a bit more weight as a label and is more associated with intersex people than androgynous. but again this is not really anything that feels like a priority to me and is not something I personally care that much about.
overall for me personally, this is really just not an issue i feel passionate about and i feel fine with dyadic/endosex people saying androgynous or androgyne as long as you all aren't using it specifically in an intersexist context.
other intersex people please feel free to add on, we're allowed to have different opinions on this and i'm always happy to hear from other intersex people.
