Okay, so a Switch update, since I don't think I've done one on here

I got my baby back from that repair shop. As I was picking him up, they told me they straight up don't know what it is and that 'maybe it's the CPU or something'. That seemed bullshit, so I took him back home and decided to plug it into my computer. Turns out I had AutoRCM on the whole time (and I didn't check, what a genius /s, then again, I'm not a professional and they didn't notice it either, sooo). It was stuck in an AutoRCM boot loop the whole time. Pushing payloads works but neither Atmosphere nor Nyx (the GUI of Hekate) do. Hekate works but in text-only mode and some options seem to be missing.

After consulting people on a homebrew forum, we've narrowed it down to (most likely) some issue with the NAND. I was supposed to flash my backup but somehow that option is missing from Hekate. Tried to restore using NxNandManager but it crashes after less than a second. I'm starting to think my eMMC went ahead and died. In a way I kinda hope it's the case - the eMMC is a seperate module on the motherboard, it just snaps into place, no soldering required. The only problem is opening it up (I hate those Y screws so much, fuck you Nintendo <3) and if I ran into trouble with that, I'm sure the friendly misters from my local computer repair shop could deal with it for me, most likely for free. I could potentially order a new module (probably a ripoff one from Aliexpress, they aren't selling these here at all and Amazon only has one, no reviews no nothing, the Aliexpress ones at least have some reviews). Since I'm a good boy and did all my backups, I could flash them to a new eMMC chip and potentially revive the console.

Of course, there's a chance it's not the eMMC. I can't possibly check RAM in any way but it being faulty would kinda explain why Hekate works but its GUI doesn't. One graphics test payload I sent worked though, so I think Nyx using some NAND component that it can't load makes more sense. I think I might just take a chance and order the replacement part. It runs for about 60PLN and while it's not the cheapest, it's definitely way cheaper than getting a new patched Switch for some 1600PLN. I'll still wait for a reply from the guy who's helping me, I'm not gonna be too reckless.
