He thought he heard voices. They called out a... name...
But he could not remember what it was.
Elrian Sanctum was before him. He knew this place. This sanctum used to be a training ground for ancient Elrians due to its unique quality of attracting El energy.
...There's something strangely compelling about this site.
2/5 - Collect Trace of Primordial Chaos (Chrysalis, Forgotten Elrian Sanctum) [0/5]
Due to Elrianode not being fully restored, the Elrian sanctum also looked incomplete. He thought that somehow resembled him.
...He could hear voices. However when he listened in, he was already at the entrance.
Is he being rejected by this place that's full of El energy?
Or is it him that refuses to resonate with the El.
Wondering, Elsword headed back inside. Again and again.
3/5 - Collect Grand Compass Pieces (Skin Splitter, Elrianode) [0/20]
As he continued to swing his sword as enemies endlessly approached him, Elsword began to think. Why did I pick up my sword? Why did I come to this place? Who... am I?
I thought I accomplished my goal, yet I...
He sees enemies approaching through his eye lashes. Ah... Is it because you're still here?
4/5 - Defeat Henir Mutated Monsters (Elrianode City/Debrian Laboratory) [0/2000]
He wanted to protect the El.
And... He wanted to protect everyone.
That's why he decided on the easiest answer that would accomplish both.
One sacrifice. Such a small price compared to the El and everyone else...
Did something go wrong? Did the voice he heard know the answer? He headed deeper inside the sanctum as he cut through any enemy that got in his way.
5/5 - Clear El Tower Defense 5 times [0/5]
Though it was blind faith from his subconscious mind, fighting for the continuation of the El was indisputable for him.
That's why there were always questions he asked himself that was never resolved.
Thoughts that haunted his mind whenever he resonated with the El made him waver.
A fixation to the El that he could not explain. The blind faith that did not question his fixation. The reason why he resonates with the El, and his feeling that allowed him to answer so easily to Solace's question. And...
The great destiny he felt at the center of the El.
In the end, he had to be separated from the El. If he was born to become one with the El, there most be some other mission he must complete. And the one who can give him that answer was somewhere inside the sanctum.
When humans can learn that everything was destiny and nothing can be changed, what do they feel? ...He knew the answer, but no longer remembers.
??? headed towards the sanctum. It was time to hear his answer from 'destiny'.

This question suddenly popped into my head. Since when and how did you start making games and creating Art Without Blood projects? And how were the characters in that series created by you?

i started trying to make VNs in high school but never finished anything. i then went to school for game design and got my degree in may.
aeron has existed for a decade, born out of my love for add from elsword and accelerator from to aru. they've changed forms for years. names, abilities, but they have always been not all there. their mine has wandered.
the previous iteration of AWB had a fallen angel girl and a forest spirit who was claimed by nature after his death in a fictional world war. their names are natasha and brutus. natasha's story was too short for a full game, so i wrote a game for her. i eventually wanted to use brutus for a plot line in AWB, but it didn't feel right. his time will come.
i felt the characters needed a theme. an artistic demon, a vengeful angel, and a melancholy spirit didn't work for me. so i made this game's cast artists.
genesis came on a whim. originally his design was more fantasy greek. but i couldn't figure out how to get a shawl to work. so he's a punk now.
erebus is an iteration of a homestuck character i had when i was 12. only green instead of a violet blooded sea dweller.
kayn came of my love for gwyndolin dark souls with the mask and idv's night watch. if anything, the only thing they share is a mask, white hair, and the snowy place they live. kayn is built on his need to be a prince for a dead kingdom, to find who he is, to escape the cold and the echoes of parasites.
dorian was to be used for a different game, but i needed someone for the yandere jam. no one from the original awb is a yandere. so. bam.
adonis came from a pinterest board. lol.

OH BOY ELSHAI. I LIKE THEM ALOT. also picking cynonari for the genshin gay ppl bc theyre ping pong'ing in my brain lately.
girl help. cynonaris normal. literally in no timeline would i ever check "better in fanon" bc we all know how genshin fans act. We All Know. BUT LIKE GIRL THEYRE NORMAL AND THAT MAKES ME GO CRAZY FOR THEM MORE HILARIOUSLY ENOUGH. theyre fucking completely polar opposites personality wise, cynos the serious aloof one, tighnari- i realize this makes it seem like hes not serious. he IS but definitely a lot more warmer and approachable than cyno at first. but then u get to cyno being the type of loser to crack horrible jokes and be into tcg and it just completes itself. they both unconditionally trush the other, and Would without a doubt go through hell and back to secure the safety of the other.
bold of tighnari to have a close relationship with that loser btw.
what do you need close relationships with men for. to kiss them?

self-sacrificial characters with some sort of inferiority complex that pushes them to Be A Hero at the cost of their selves, just so it means their family will be safe. fucking idiots who were willing to give up their literal identities and senses of selves just so their family wouldnt. i think they can kiss and work through their problems.
also its funny to think about the implications using the other job paths lore (ie, genesis having literally No Emotions or sense of identity other than "protect elrios and the el" which could make for some interesting enemies to lovers imo) other funny implications are to think abt elesis holding a grudge against haivan cuz like, fair of her to, and just flipping out when she learns her little baby brother has a crush on haivan of all people.
discourse crossed out bc Some People Out There, not naming names but u know <3 probably think its weird bc haivans got no Confirmed Age even though he goes out of his way to say hes not much younger than add (who is 21 at that point in story.) hes not a kid. dont be weird abt it.

More Quick Thoughts on Elsword
Been playing Elsword on and off a lot more recently. I have a few essays in the works for the series but I wanted to cover some shorter thoughts and opinions on the game that can honestly be summarized in a paragraph or two. So... here we are.
Characters and Classes
Most classes nowadays boil down to what the community categorizes as their Clearing (AoE Skills to clear arenas), Bossing (Single Target DPS against a raid boss), MP Management (you know what this is), and Support (buffing and debuffing abilities/passives). All classes are usually good in about two of these four areas with a handful of exceptions. The exceptions that are good in almost all four like Knight Emperor, Empire Sword, and Nova Imperator usually only do all four decently without fully excelling in one of the four categories, or at the very least their other classes excel to the point of make the all-rounders irrelevant. And from my understanding taking a support class is a double-edged sword as the general Elsword community is very hostile toward support users if they’re even slightly unprepared, under-geared, or spotty in their skill rotation.
In other words, endgame Elsword is full of a bunch of sweatlords.
This is somewhat expected as a lot of endgame players are sweatlords, but with how easy it is to reach level 99 and have access to the endgame content it feels a little weird for the playerbase to be that sweaty, at least if the general consensus is to be believed. And if it is that’s doubly bad for me since I’m the madman that who’s favor classes are outdated DPS classes like Anemos Catastrophe, or Support classes that are seen as subpar for the recent raids like Revenant.
Speaking of...
4th Path Predictions (Part 2)
It seems that most of the 4th Paths that have came out have been filling whatever missing niche that specific character didn’t have. For the usually balanced Elsword he got Genesis, which went full DPS without looking back. Eve, who also had a decent balance of support and DPS over all, went about the same way and had a DPS class that could essentially solo the whole damn game during her first week. Ara, Raven, and LuCiel who all have mostly a DPS focus in their classes have had their 4th Path focused much more on support to fill the niche. So, going by that logic, here’s my updated prediction.
Full Support Rena with limited DPS
DPS Chung with a self-buffing mechanic
Support Elesis that’s basically an inverse of Elsword’s 4th Path function-wise
Support Add... doing Support Add things
I don’t know enough about Ain’s general kit to say anything with confidence and Laby and Noah already have a good balance between their three classes that their 4th Path could go in any direction. If I had to guess we’ll get a DPS Noah to balance the support and healing of his 2nd and 3rd Paths, and a Support Laby that probably won’t be as busted as Radiant Soul’s supporting can be (though I hear it’s lackluster nowadays compared to Celestia and Surya).
Ice Burners
So I finally dabbled with Ice Burners as an experiment and boy do I not like them. For those new, Ice Burners are a gacha item that give you a randomized item of various usefulness, ranging from some high level gear sets, to various recovery items, to el shards of any type, to... costume sets. Specifically, very quality costume sets with high stats and some additional bonuses, making them very desirable for endgame maximizing. These costumes come in parts and have a 1% chance or less of spawning. And while the ice burners only cost $1 of real currency per use, this is clearly a scam. Not helping this is the fact that the costume shop proper went through a severe downgrade since the last time I was there, only having 7-ish pages worth of items.
This is outright insidious, no two ways about it. I’ll spare you all a long conversation on how I feel about gacha systems since I’ve already discussed it, but I can only pray the fans of this series that have stuck with Elsword make some noise about wanting old costume items back.
Anyway, that’s it. Hopefully I’ll have a decent essay over the next few days discussing either my favorite classes or the English voice acting.

fuck it I'll count Genesis, 7 for 7, tentatively
no translation on Rena's 4th yet but the impression I'm getting is magical storyteller/songwriter (judging by her bow as Prophetess very clearly being a harp), which is definitely quite the interesting way to spin things
we haven't really had a bard around yet so it's definitely a welcome addition to the insanity that is this game
#as it stands though the chances of me playing this game again are uh#basically almost nil#even with the knowledge that laby's is up next in august#probably end of august if I had to guess given we're also expecting a raid
