#was watching leverage which has a character with some Jason vibes (Elliot) who in the episode i was watching was undercover as a chef and #taking his job as a chef very seriously and refusing to go look for the mob boss’ money cause he has 200 people to feed at this wedding #goddamnit and no he can’t just leave the peaches on the stove they’ll burn you idiot and my friend decided that he needs to write a fic #where the batfam is going undercover in a fancy restaurant or the like and Jason is working as the chef for it and too busy in the kitchen #to actually do any of the snooping around work and it’s great I love when my friend talks to me about his fic and au ideas so much man #my shit #fox rambles

I am still on my SVU bullshit and started watching the early seasons again. Watching Monogamy now and I did not remember the subplot of Elliot's home troubles at all.

And Liv just chewed him out a bit for not talking to Kathy, after he told her that he can't go home and share these things, these horrors, with his wife.

But the thing is. He used to. In season 1? He did share, he did talk about the cases with Kathy.

So it's kind of fascinating to think about what changed.

[Well. Our universe it seems pretty obvious the answer was show runner change between s1 and s2.]

In universe...an easy explanation is EO was the driver but...I honestly don't see any real romantic undertones between them yet. Might be my AO shipper heart but really don't see different undertones to their relationship until after Alex is gone.

Before that they just read as Family to me, not wrestling with any desires for more/for the possibility of more.

So it leaves me wondering what happened. Was it the Morris Commission and Elliot almost losing his job? Did he tell Kathy and she was horrified to learn he fantasized about killing these perps and he responded by never sharing anything again?

Did he share something and Kathy ended up with nightmares? Did he share and one of the kids overheard?

What. Happened.

#svu #sure elliot is possessive of Liv but is about all of his family. but Liv had 0 hesitation or tension in telling him to talk with his wife #“You keep this up you're going to ruin the best thing you ever had.”#does Liv know he used to talk to Kathy about work? i dunno i dunno #but anyway. that change of the man who talked and leaned on his wife. to the man who walled everything away in the name of protection #is an interesting change still kind of sad about it really. was refreshing having a show where a main character cop had a solid marriage
