I think it's very funny how if you go with the frenzied flame ending,at the last step before you get burned Melina is like "Bestie, thou art in danger of not passing the vibe check, prithee thee return from whence you came " and then after you get burned she's like "Bestie, thou hast failed the vibe check, farewell" ,then after you burn down the glow stick tree she shows up on screen and says "Worstie, thine death shall come by none other than my own hands" Iconic.
I'm doing some elden ring theorizing with @dan-from-onami and I always found Melina really interesting because she just leaves you when you get to Lyndell to see her mother- but we never really see who her mother is.
Once we get to Marika, Melina has already sacrificed herself to burn down the tree, but I'm wondering if she only sacrificed her body- or maybe just a version of her body/soul to be used as kindling. Dan pointed out that Marika is impaled with a spike when we first see her, and Radagon doesn't really have that type of weapon so it likely wasn't him.
But I'm wondering, if Melina truly is Marika and Radagon's child and if she is referring to Marika when she says she is going to see her mother in Lyndell, could she secretly be Messmer? Their features are similar to me mostly due to the closed eye, and each child of Radagon and Marika are cursed horribly in some way (Malenia with Rot, Miquella with eternal youth), maybe Messmer also has a curse and can turn into Melina similar to how Marika can turn into Radagon.
Dan said that he did find it weird how all significant others of Marika/Radagon have 3 children, but Marika/Radagon themselves only had 2.
But now I find it funny that if Melina is Messmer the impaler: Hun did you just want to visit mummy to make sure she was still impaled, or did you want to just have some Sunday tea catching up? LMFAO
