Van agrees to let Swin and Nadia work for him and use them as a proxy to investigate a case where they chase a down man and extort him for his Mira. Afterward, in a flashback sequence, Agnes hands Swin and Nadia one of the Genesis, and in the present, Elaine asks for their help while Nadia complains that her lazy life is being taken away.

Sidequest 1:

One of the side quests involves Eddy, an ex-gangster from Desire from the previous game who used to work for Desire, who has gone missing. The group reaches out to Brenda from the Newberry shop about Eddy, who is her son. She thinks it has to do with Desire but since the group is basically done for. Elaine calls Vermotti who gives them info to reach out in Center Marche telling them of a “Desire Hunt” which is half-grays going after the remaining members of Desire, Eddy included even if he is an ex-member. They reach out to Giselle, who informs them that the remnants of Desire are in the sewers. The group run into a group of half-grays beating up Desire's remnants. Defeating them, they then go to the Saiden district. When they arrive, a man screams out that Furaura has been kidnapped. The group rush to the sewers and Eddy appears to give the group backup. After the fight, BOE (Bank of Edith) people arrive at the scene, with Baselia, the girl that Eddy had “kidnapped” her in the previous game and Rumsfeld. Since they are powerful people, they tell the gangsters to back off and Eddy is reformed and under their protection.

The group returns to the hotel, where it’s explained that Eddy was hiding out at the hotel with Baselia and Rumsfeld waiting for things to cool down, but he got impulsive and decided to act. Thompson arrives to thank the Spriggans for taking on his case and finding Eddy, and the group teases Eddy as Baselia asks if he could show her the house he grew up. He then gets teased as they explain the situation to how cool and selfless Eddy was to his mom.

With the quest complete, talking to Rumsfeld afterward has him questioning why Eddy turned to a life of crime when the environment he grew up in seems fairly normal. Talking to Baselia and Eddy has her asking what Eddy was like when he was a kid, and it’s just more teasing. Talking to Brenda has her wondering how Eddy managed to find such a good girl.

Sidequest 2:

The other side quest involves killing a giant monster at Dirke Memorial Park. You’re allowed in because the manager remembers Elaine, and the group uses this to their advantage. Talking to the Manager afterward optionally has him thanking you for letting people enjoy the park again.

The group arrive at Triton Mall which also has the Triton Tower, andit reminds the group of the tower from Crossbell, but this tower is actually much older and has been around before the Orbal revolution. It was originally just a clock tower that can predict the weather, and it has seen upgrades over the next several decades.

The group explores the mall and see a dancing Mishy. Na-chan seems excited, but Elaine outs herself as a Mishy fanatic, saying that can it really even be called Mishy when the proportions aren’t really the same as the one in Crossbell.

The group visits the Quincy Parlour which was formerly owned by the Auclair family. Na-chan wants to eat, but Elaine says it’s unlikely, while the real reason is that she threw her dad in jail in the previous game. Talking to Bernand the NPC will still have Elaine be treated with respect even though she says she doesn’t deserve it and they applaud for her correcting the President’s wrongdoings.

You can also find Maxim here, who is talking to a reporter. This isn’t a blue quest indicator, so it’s easy to miss, but the reporter asks what motivates him for races, and he says the fans, but more important a group of people keeps him going (Paulette and Yume obviously).

There’s also the Liberl Antenna shop which has imported cuisine and goods from Liberl. Just a nice nod for people who played Sky games.

The group go into the Verne store, which sells Xipha without the combat functionality for the mass market. Another small nod to past games is Swin and Nadia saying they’ve used all sorts of combat units, such as the ENIGMA and ARCUS. Upstairs they see Towa from the Cold Steel games, Princess Zita, and Professor Hamilton.

The group is discovering the power outage mentioned in the previous chapter. They finally arrive at the tower, and Elaine is sent alone while Na-chan tries to use the chance to get Swin to take her out on a date, but he’s more focused on the task at hand.

Elaine returns with no information, but Swin and Nadia inform her that the cleaning robots are linked to the system, and they discover that one robot is not doing its route. The inspection did not discover any abnormalities because nobody would pay attention to a cleaning robot and also the virus deletes itself after the work is done, making it hard to find any trace. Impressed, Elaine asks if they’d like to become Bracers one day because they’re understaffed. Na-chan rejects because the hours would suck and wants to fill up her schedule with just sleeping. Na-chan’s phone rings, alerting them a robot is moving out of position, and they rush to the observatory to find it in the data server room. They destroy it, but they find out the virus is set to self-destruct, and Professor Hamilton appears with Towa and Zita. Hamilton creates a virtual robot that makes Na-chan play the Mare mini-game of hacking into the robot in the digital world to prevent the data from being lost.

Sidequest 3:

There’s a new sidequest on the bulletin board abou a cellphone scam. The guy who requested it, Ned, is actually right next to the board. The new T-Phones (that everyone uses) costs too much and the guy was approached by a shady group. They claimed they smuggled a bunch and the condition to buying it for super cheap is to not tell the police or bracers about it because it’s an extremely gray area. Ned bought one, but it turned out to be junk, so he’s asking for help.

Stopping by the Liberl shop, the group discover that the clerk Lila has seen a shady group handing out posters in the courtyard. Taking the broken T-Phone to the Verne store, the technician opens it up and finds out it’s just an Enigma stuffed inside the casing of a T-Phone.

Swin and Nadia go on a “date” to lure them out and buy six of the fake ones. After tailing the men into the sewers, they close the case, and they’re captured and are dealt with by the Bracers and the Police. Elaine uses her authority to have Ned not thrown in jail.

In the main story, the group goes to the 13th District which should not exist. Talking to nearby NPCs will comment on Elaine being with the group, and another NPC talks about how the darklight town district is more lively now that Almata is gone.

It’s revealed that Na-chan had a big brother, but he died a long time ago and now Na-chan and Su-chan have each other. Nadia keeps mentioning doing all this for “for that child’s sake” so it’s assumed something happened to Lapis.

They gather card keys to progress further and find a black Aurora terminal similar to the one found in Basel with Professor Callaghan’s mind transfer in Chapter 4 of Kuro 1 and deduce this is why the orbal power failures are happening. They fight several black wolf-like creatures but are overwhelmed as the numbers keep going.

Nadia gives a small speech to Swin about how when things get tough, they shouldn’t give up as long as they smile. The two sacrifice themselves to give Elaine some time to escape and die. Elaine cries out and time is reverted to before they enter deep.

Elaine retains some memories but is fuzzy and decides to trust her intuition and call Zin to give support to the 3-man party.

The Sidetalk while progressing the map has Nadia and Swin feel like they know the layout of the map already but it’s truly their first time going through here. They win this time again thanks to Elaine’s “premonition” and the Demi-Grendels revert to Desire gang members. A voice calls out to the group saying that there are unlimited resources down here and endless despair to keep the Demi-Grendels to keep coming back. The group dies with Zin being the survivor and time reverts again.

The group then decide to look around in the district to gather more information. You can talk to Morgan from the previous game, who sells merchants. Hermes is also here entertaining a child that belongs to the bartender who prays that the boy can get a good future. You can go to the adult part of town and Na-chan will get mad and say that the older women better not take Swin from her.

At the arena, the group finds Walter and defeat him. They gather information confirming the Black Aurora was based on the one from Kuro 1’s Callaghan/Basel incident, and that Professor Novartis somehow salvaged it. Swin accidentally slips that even Zin couldn’t help defeat the Demi-Grendels which triggers Walter asking the group to take him with him because of the rivalry he has with Zin.

This time, Walter is able to cancel out the Demi-Grendel transformations by punching really hard, commenting that Zin is just too much of a softie. However, Walter gets overwhelmed eventually and Zin comes to his aid, pissing him off, and also annoyed that Elaine must’ve contacted him after all. Zin teases Walter saying it was too much for Walter to handle which is why he’s here and Walter’s mad that Zin is running his mouth. A big monster named Demi-Grendel-Godom arrives. It’s swiftly defeated and Walter & Zin destroy the Black Aurora causing the Red-looking Hollow to appear.

She introduces herself as Altera, Grendel-Zolga’s exclusive Hollow. She reveals that the Demi-Grendels are actually failures compared to the real Grendel. Na-chan and Swin confront Altera, claiming that Altera stole a power from a girl they know. Elaine puts the dots together and Swin reveals that the girl from the Babel Incident (Lapis) is currently in a coma.

Altera scoffs at the idea, but Na-chan reiterates that it has to be true because Altera used Elysium coding just now. Swin then reveals that he had Nadia analyze the code, and because Lapis and Elysium are special in that it’s unique and doesn’t even have copies of its structure on the Orbal net that it has to be true that Altera must have stolen Lapis’s power. Altera gets annoyed, calling herself a noble Hollow and the power she has is all hers. Grendel-Zolga appears and takes Altera and runs away. Walter departs the party.
