Aroma: Brown sugar, toasted grain, roast malt, earth

Pour: Tea brown, clear with off white head that reduces to skim

Taste: Wheat, grass, malt and toasted brown bread on the wash with crisp notes of berry fruit and autumnal dankness. Mouth is spiky and lightly oily with aftertaste of grain and malt. Crisp carbonation and a nice bite at the finish. Lovely mix of fresh lager and malty ale. Great stuff.

Brew #275: 8° Brewing Wayfarer Sour IPA

Abv: 4%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Peach, lemon

Pour: Pale cloudy yellow with slight white froth disappearing.

Taste: High carbonation, big smack of the Citra hops with lemon peel and hints of grapefruit. Then comes the dry raspy biting finish. Medium dry and thirst quenching - it's got a lovely way of luring you back for another sup.

Notes: 330ml bottle, hops - Amarillo, Citra, 8 strains of super 8 lactobacilli.

Brew #274: 8° Brewing Nomad India Pale Lager

Abv: 5%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Mango, caramel, slight citrus

Pour: Pale clear amber with half finger of white froth

Taste: Cedar and pine burst with some mellow toffee malt underneath. Nice bitter bite at the end with faint tropical notes hovering around. Great beer.

Notes: 330ml bottle, 54IBUs, hops-Cascade, Nelson Sauvin, Citra

Aroma: Orange, citrus zest, light herbs

Pour: Opaque yellow with white froth

Taste: Lovely airy citrus upfront with light fruity notes underneath. Cedar bitter bite at the end. Greta stuff, refreshing and very drinakable.

Notes: 330ml bottle, hops - Amarillo/Mandarina Bavaria/Equinox/Citra

Brew #160: 8° Supernova Double IPA

ABV: 8%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Cedar, peach

Pour: Opaque amber with a finger of white froth dissipating to a skim

Taste: Big citrus bang with some honey fruit washing around in the mix. Nice dry bite at the end with an aftertaste of marmalade. Very potent kick off this.

Notes: 330ml bottle, hops - Simcoe/Amarillo/Enigma

Brew #159: 8° Brewing Co. Amarillo Single Hop IPA

ABV: 5.7%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Melon, grapes

Pour: Opaque amber with a bubbly white froth disappearing

Taste: Sweet honey melon notes upfront before a slight, hoppy undertone but that fruit hit washes back in with apricot and grapes and all sorts of sunny tropical fun. Mild bite to finish with fruity aftertaste, medium carbonation and light resinous mouthfeel. Quality sup this.

Brew #158: 8° Brewing Co. Galaxy Single Hop IPA

ABV: 5.7%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Citrus, tropical fruit

Pour: Opaque amber with a finger of white froth reducing

Taste: Those citrus aromas are all over the tongue in the initial wash before a sweeter, peachy middle. Finishes out on a light, hoppy bite, medium dry. Good, summery feeling IPA with a decent range of flavour across the palate.

Brew #118: 8° Brewing Co. Vic Secret Black IPA

ABV: 6%

Served: Off the shelf

Aroma: Apricot, watermelon, candyfloss

Pour: Cola black with two fingers of tan froth

Taste: Very little fruit on the palate, lovely roasted malt flavours and for some reason I’m getting a big whack of barbequed ribs?? Oz hops for the win I think, it finishes out on a dry almost chalky bite. Curious and intriguing, it lulls you in on the nose and kicks you back on the tongue. There are very subtle pine and grapefruit undertones as it goes on however.
