I recall an interview given post season 3 where there were hypotheses about a wedding/honeymoon in hawaii, and rosie and I looked at each other and said "why wait? send them to someone else's wedding in hawaii!"
and suddenly that devolved into 3am messages of "you know what tarlos should do? food swap" and "you know that kid we decided to write in? make her more unhinged" and "you know what the fandom deserves? carlos getting railed. write it."
and thus, the ring in was born. also, this reminds me I have to write the sequel, which is impossibly more rogue, so THANK YOU FOR THIS ASK!

i have no idea what fic, but i've been obsessed with sara barellies since her very first album so if i lived in world where she wanted to write a song for one of my fics i would melt into the floor
if i absolutely had to pick a fic, i think maybe Downburst? I think she would smash that out of the park-- she does hopeful melancholy really well

One of our collective favourite things about Alex and Henry is the way that they not only love each other, but have fun with each other in so many different ways – whether that’s as friends with benefits, best friends, boyfriends or husbands – in and out of the bedroom. The thing about sex with Henry is, it’s never the same twice. Sometimes he moves easily, caught up in the rush, and other times he’s tense and taut and wants Alex to work him loose and take him apart. Sometimes nothing gets him off faster than being talked back to, but other times they both want him to use every inch of authority in his blood, not to let Alex get there until he’s told, until he begs.
It’s unpredictable and it’s intoxicating and it’s fun, because Alex has never met a challenge he didn’t love, and he— well, Henry is a challenge, head to toe, beginning to end.
Or: series of snapshots of Alex and Henry’s versatile sex life throughout the years – because the more life changes, the more some things stay the same.

“I’m overthinking it, aren’t I?” Alex asks, mumbling the question into Henry’s shoulder. “You’ve never liked blowjobs next to dumpsters.”
“I don’t recall ever verbalising that particular preference,” Henry replies, trying very hard not to laugh. “But you’re right.”
“Is it the rats?”
“I think it’s the general aesthetic.”
“I think dumpsters have a certain je ne sais quoi.”
Henry snorts. “Do you really?”
“Promise me something,” Alex asks, stepping back and offering his hand for Henry to take. Threading their fingers together obediently, Henry looks up and tries not to feel a certain type of way about how good his husband looks, even when he’s framed by a dingy alleyway.
“Anything, love.”

Seven Sentence Sunday
Hi! You might've noticed my header's absence—that's because @littlemisskittentoes made me this lovely moodboard for my F1 rivals-to-lovers fic which I'm writing for the big bang, and which I'll be sharing a snippet of today.
Also, thanks to everyone who tagged me Wednesday! I didn't quite get it together to post, so I'll be thanking y'all with the rest of my tags below the cut.
Alex opens his mouth, though how he plans to respond, he’s not certain. Before any words come to mind, though, his phone slips through his hand, bouncing onto his shoe before landing on the tile between them.
Alex kneels down to pick it up, momentarily saved from forming a reply. His brain’s still coming up empty, though, when Henry speaks again.
“You might as well suck my cock while you’re down there.” Alex whips his head up to make sure he didn’t just imagine those words coming out of Henry’s mouth. He’s prevented from pinching himself when Henry adds, “It’ll be good practice, looking up at me.”

TIS BEEN A MONTH BUT I AM BACK ~ in the world of Beas, did a big thing at work, learned to ski, celebrated another year around the sun, hit a big ao3 milestone, had the worst writers block the first quarter of the year, got stressy and depressy with the winter, and now … and now SPRING HAS ARRIVED AND I AM LIKE A PLANT EMERGING FROM THE SOIL, here and hopefully ready to be perceived again.

Little Drummerboy
The language is crude, but his filter is decimated by the truth universally acknowledged that he is a man in want of being wanted one fucking time in his life without everyone leaving him. He doesn’t think that is too much to ask, but the universe has never been so kind as to give him human connection that wasn’t fraught with disaster every step of the way.
To be known by the masses but to never be known wholly. To have those screaming his praises in the hundreds of thousands, but nobody to hold him at night when the shivers wrack his body and the demons come out to play.
The Kiss List
It is an undisputed fact of life on the Georgetown campus that Alex Claremont Diaz has a pair of lips and he knows exactly how to use them. Henry Fox, the ex-facto roommate extraordinaire of the “most kissable lips on campus” is entirely aware of just how good of a kisser Alex is. Not through any experience of his own as much as he hates to say it. No.
Alex, his dear, sweet, delusional roommate of three years, has a kiss list. A color coded rank and file excel sheet with coding more complex than what it took to get the first mission to mars up and running. Henry can’t pretend to understand it when Alex comes back into the room giddy as all get out and pulls up the file. He has had a shotgun seat to the rollercoaster that has been Alex’s kissing conundrum over the last few semesters on campus.

The way she picks the themes of the original source and uses them in a different setting is just absolutely flawless, the same happens in Little Pages. It's gives you the same feelings of reading rwrb but also reading something new and different all at the same time.
My Brother’s Keeper by @indomitable-love (book-verse)
@janetical: Written in Philip’s POV, it tackles all the canon events in a frustrating yet heart-wrenching way. I knew what I was getting myself into when I noticed the POV, but I really did hate Philip less at the end of this fic. Everything is entailed in this little story: unresolved daddy issues and grief, internalized homophobia and Philip acknowledging Henry’s first time. It will make you cry, and it will end on a somewhat happy note.

@suseagull04: This is a fic I couldn't put down! I'm always a fan of Henry being a writer in fics (so the description alone caught my eye), and the mix of cute moments with firstprince (and David) and plot twists had me hooked! It's also such an interesting look at the life of a writer and how difficult it is for them to have anonymity, which was especially interesting to me because of the writers strike in Hollywood.

I had to put it down a few times because it was truly heartbreaking but it has a happy ending. Don't be fooled like I was about it being all fluff. It's not, it's very nostalgic and they are apart for a long time but I still recommend it because, like I said, it's really beautiful.

@thesleepyskipper: This was just a stunning piece of writing that does such a wonderful job of evoking images of the seaside cliffs, swimming in the cove and spending lazy days in the cottage above. At the same time, we get all that delicious pining and FWB to lovers fun within that beautiful setting. The spicy bits are beautifully done too! Highly recommend!

@gwiazdziarka: Yes, I recently recommended this one as wip, but now it's complete and I just need to bring it up again, because it deserves all the attention. Alex and Henry have the most amazing relationship here that goes outside of usual norms. It's also the warmest and the sweetest thing that I've read in a while. And it has great ace representation.
@read-and-write-: Is Ace!Alex very special to you? Do you want to feel like someone is wrapping you in a soft blanket? Then Mr. BodyPillow is for you! It's beautiful and will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside

This has everything: thrilling sports passages (even though I haven’t ever watched the Tour in my life!), romantic tension, a great read.
Love-Love by @smc-27 (book-verse)
@myheartalivewrites: a tennis AU set at Wimbledon, which obviously holds a special place in RWRB hearts. Alex and Henry as rival tennis players who’ve hooked up once, and then end up as doubles partners. A quick read that left me all warmed up from the inside.

@daisymae-12: Wow I don’t have the words to truly convey how much I loved this fic. It diverges from canon at Kensington and the events that follow are so beautifully written. This fic made me cry over an OC, made me feel seen when I recognized parts of my own cultural background woven into a story, made my heart ache for everything Alex and Henry have been through and made me tear up some more. This is one of the most heart-wrenching canon-divergence fics I’ve ever read and I know I’m going to be thinking about it for a long time.
Baby, All At Once (This Is Enough) by @iboatedhere (book-verse)
@daisymae-12: This fic is such a lovely look into Alex & Henry’s life post-canon and had me absolutely melting from the softness of it all.
Will You Brie Mine? by @cha-melodius (book-verse)
@daisymae-12: A fic featuring cheese and Henry being the one to sell it, what’s not to love? This was such a sweet fic and I loved the interactions between them! @cha-melodius always writes such amazing fics, and this was no exception.

Thank you to @kiwiana-writes, @ships-to-sail, @hgejfmw-hgejhsf and @suseagull04! I honestly haven't done an awful lot of work on either WIP due to the horrors, but here's two for the price of one.
Buffyverse:
“So what’s the plan when you get him free?” June wants to know. “Because I don’t know about vampires, but I get a little cranky when I’ve not fed at all.”
“You should know,” Pez points out. “You kill enough of them.”
“Watch it,” says Nora ominously. Her dark eyes are cloudy, and, Alex notices nervously, so are the skies above them.
Wedfic:
putting old enmity to the side and reaching across the divide today. let me know if you want updates? ps you know i hate to say it but henry is killing it at this wedding
She doesn’t reply. Then the bride spills her drink and there’s ten minutes of Alex inspecting the dress to make sure no bubbles have stained the hem. When Grace confesses Sophia hasn’t eaten yet today, Alex volunteers to go and grab the breakfast they’ve paid for, but there’s a knock at the door and Henry sweeps in pushing - of all things - a gold-and-glass cart with cloches galore.
There’s croissant and Danishes and a dish of fruit cut into stars and hearts and other whimsical shapes. Sophia almost starts to cry, and while Alex rushes forward with a tissue he catches Henry’s eye and winks.
Henry blushes and walks into the doorframe.

Seven Sentence Sunday🌟
Thank you @kiwiana-writes and @firenati0n for the tags! :) I'm early for once, so I get to post more than seven sentences as a treat
I'm back with more of Gonna Give You Something (So You Know What's on My Mind) aka the white elephant fic aka what's low key crack treated seriously aka me back on my roommates/friends to lovers shit (despite this being my first time writing that trope technically but shhhh) - here's a part that makes me grin... let the quote unquote seduction begin
“But you're—”
“Hot? Charming? Real fuckin’ sexy?” Alex slings an arm over Henry’s shoulder. “Roguishly handsome with an ass you could bounce a quarter off of?”
While Henry doesn’t disagree with these things, the pressing attribute he meant to raise remains.
“Straight?”
Alex scrunches his nose as if Henry said something deeply offensive and tilts his head to the side. A stray curl falls over his eye, and his expression falters when he twists his lips to blow it out of the way. The action shouldn’t be as attractive as it is, but Henry has always been a weak, weak man when it comes to anything involving Alex, no matter how simple it may be.
“Mm, try again, sweetheart,” Alex retorts, pushing Henry’s knees apart and crowding further between his legs. “I know you’re smarter than that.”
Henry, honest to God, gulps.
“Are you not?” he asks, voice reduced to a meek whisper.

Burned out on work, Alex goes to visit June who is on assignment in a sleepy Vermont town called Snow's Landing. June is determined for him to see where she's been living for the last six months and to love it as much as she does. The most intriguing part of it all is June's best friend there, a man named Henry, that Alex believed was a jerk at first but is starting to discover a new side of as they spend more time together.
I’ll Have a Flu Christmas
Plans go awry when Alex comes down with the flu right before Christmas while Henry waits for him to fly over and meet him in England. Prepared to spend Christmas sick and alone, Alex doesn't expect Henry to take matters into his own hands.
Ye Merry Gentlemen
Across three different years, at different points in their lives, Alex and Henry celebrate Christmas together.
Countdown
(Cheating a little here because it’s a NYE fic, but that’s coming up too)
New Year's Eve 2022 finds Alex and Henry replaying some of the best moments of their year and getting up to their usual shenanigans, with maybe a surprise or two in store.
A Long Way From the Playground

Henry and Alex were best friends growing up until they went to separate colleges and they grew apart. HELLO ROSIE! sorry as per usual for lateness etc etc i was busy being the third raccoon in the trench coat.
this is a hard question for me because, as you know, my music taste sucks. BUT i do take a lot of lyric inspo from Imogen Heap, so i suppose i would have to pick her. she could write a song for any of my fics but Speak for Yourself would be iconic since the name of the fic is an Imogen Heap album and all the chapters are named after songs from that album sksksljadl.

It’s the most wonderful time of year!
Some friends and I are doing our annual RWRB fic exchange, and starting today for the next 8 days, will be posting our fics anonymously to the don we now (more) gay fanfiction collection with the authors for each fic to be revealed closer to the new year!!

Alex is an anonymous thirst-trapping chef on TikTok. Henry is an amateur cook who needs a recipe for Friendsgiving. Alex knows Henry's watching. Henry doesn't know it's Alex. Shenanigans ensue.

here's a snip from the proposal au titled "the full spectrum of human emotion" which required some...research on roop's part. enjoy lol:
Alex swings one leg around to straddle Henry, one hand holding onto the chair, another resting on Henry’s shoulder. His hips do a slow, dirty grind on a very stressed Henry, taking on a life of their own. Alex is feeling wholly possessed by the horny ghost of cowboy Matthew McConaughey from Magic Mike, a series he felt compelled to revisit after his late-stage bisexual awakening. He tries to focus on the beat of the music, the warmth of Henry’s chest as Alex sways up and down. The bass line of “Pony” has nothing on the thudding of his heart roaring in his ears.
Henry's face tips back as he takes in Alex in his current state—sweaty, gyrating, focused. His eyes close, but not before Alex sees his pupils blown out, only a ring of blue visible. Alex offers up a prayer of gratitude to Steven Soderbergh for giving him a series of movies that is directly responsible for the very delicious position he's in right now. As a self-respecting cowboy, he isn't planning on looking a gift horse in the mouth. Or a gift pony, he should say.

Henry is looking expectantly at Alex, something buried in his gaze that Alex's liquor-addled brain can't fully comprehend. It looks not dissimilar to his eyes when he had wrapped large fingers around Alex's waist at the engagement party and pulled him a little closer after meeting Liam for the first time. Unfortunately, the thought is really just as fucking appealing now as it was during that party. He can't be fucking helped.
"Yeah, I was just going to go get a drink anyway." Liam shoots Henry a small smile, squeezes Alex's bicep in goodbye, and walks away.
"Jealous, are we?" Alex can't help but needle him just a little. "It's okay if you are, I won't stop you." The idea of Ice Queen Henry being green with envy is doing a lot for Alex and his neurons right now. He really is completely fucking hopeless.
"You're incorrigible," Henry says with a small laugh. "But he had his turn." His mouth lifts up at the corner, a little crooked, a whole lot endearing. "Now it's mine."
