no but it's the way for aziraphale "nothing lasts forever" meant "i'm willing to give up the bookshop if it means i can be with you safely" and for crowley it meant "nothing lasts forever, not the bookshop, not earth, not us"

everyone has already pointed this out and much more intelligently but the whole plot of lore olympus really comes down to rachel telling the audience whom to hate without putting any work into proving why
like we are no strangers to character assassination demeter legion has been going thru it since day one, but rachel is so staggeringly bad at writing genuine villains that she has to pull random ass acts of evil out of nowhere to justify her pinning certain characters as bad guys. and it’s proof of her writing by the seat of her pants yeah, but when in doubt she just throws characters under the bus so long as it props persephone and hades up
the narrative NEVER shows us zeus or demeter doing evil things, but they’ve run afoul of the main couple, so we are told they are villains. zeus has proven he’s a bad husband, sure, but not a bad king - but rachel needs to escape the corner she had written herself into, so suddenly zeus is a wife abusing monster on par with kronos. arguably the only genuine villain we see do something 1000% wrong is apollo, and rachel still can’t decide if he’s some brilliant mastermind or some idiot being played. in fact, the narrative is kinder to apollo than it is to zeus or kronos, and that’s saying something
like yeah it’s lazy writing to have zeus be the Bad Guy when we have fucking kronos and also apparently ouranos but honesty it just feels so disrespectful. rachel simply cannot figure out how to write a bad guy so she just keeps throwing random characters in the woodchipper and hopes it buys her a week. it’s such a waste of potential, such a demonstration of her failings as a writer, and a total disregard and lack of knowledge of the myths she claims to be basing this on

Truly obsessed with the fact that Edward Teach, one of the most brilliant sailors and infamous pirates, finds this silly little guy bleeding out/within an inch of his life on a Spanish Ship and goes,
“That one. That’s the love of my life.”
Said silly little guy is ghastly, weak, and nigh delirious, yet Ed still struts his stuff, attempts to make a good impression, and is all like,
“Him. I want him.”

FYI since I've seen a lot of people talking about the "Isami had an older brother who died" thing and sharing it as established fact - in the Animedia interview where this comes from (in response to a question about what Smith and Isami were like as kids), Obari explicitly says "this hasn't been properly decided, this is just my imagination" and has a lot more "he seems like..." language.
Obviously him saying it makes it reasonably likely to end up becoming canon, and it's a fun idea to run with regardless of canonicity, but I don't want people to end up confused or annoyed if something different happens! It really felt closer to something he was just coming up with off the top of his head at the moment, and it sounds like the characters changed a lot over the course of development so it's always possible that this would change too.

that time when scarlet and violet was released around the same time as sonic frontiers and we were all talking about the bugs and bad framerate in sv but sonic fans were going “HA!!! everyone has to apologize to sonic for giving him shit for 06!! cause now theres a WORSE example and we can shit on pikachu for having a bad game!!!” and like look i actually did like 06 so this isnt coming from someone who hates sonic and wants the franchise to fail or whatever, but its so clear to me that we are never gonna escape toxic workplace culture and crunch in video game development because like, what’s happened to 06 and scarlet/violet arent unique phenomenons specific to those companies, they were the result of crunch culture and i really feel like having fandom wars over that is pointless. this can happen to literally any franchise you are not unique. sonic 06 is not retroactively “good” because something that “deserves” to be hated more finally dropped, yknow? both games suffer from the same problem and nothing will change or get fixed if we ignore that

you know what i'm so tired of? the influx of negative clickbait articles surrounding the possibility of ofmd s3. i've seen things like "taika says he isn't sure whether he wants to return for the third season" and "the show will go on without ed and stede." and the worst recent offender was "stede might be the one to breakup with blackbeard in the third season" because it misconstrued rhys' words when he was talking about ed and stede likely reuniting with the crew.
and like...intuitively i know that they are all indeed just clickbait, and are trying to take advantage of everyone's desperation for any sort of s3 news. and also, i feel like the negativity is pointed and purposeful, because it gets people talking and subsequently spreads the article around faster/gives that particular site more attention.
but man do i hate it, because it does not mix well with my anxiety.
