Content Types: Ahhhh, a little bit of everything tbh, but I really like making deep dives where I overanalyze everything about a character or relationship but they do take a long time to make so I don’t do them as much. This is primarily a Rynny ship blog!!! Just FYI for all those curious about the main themes of this blog.

Favorite Character (Sing): Johnny! I relate to him a lot. And Ryan, Marcus, Stan, and Barry obviously aren’t far behind on my favorite character list (my content is a bit of a giveaway lol) :)

Second Moon is going to be a sequel to my fic First Moon! I had a lot of fun writing about Simon becoming a were-dragon and writing a story around @frjsti​‘s wonderful illustrations, so this is essentially his 2nd experience of transforming under the full moon. He’ll have Baz there during the transformation and they’ll get to explore some of their new desires in the bedroom. Here’s a snippet from right after the transformation:

‘Baz is singing to me. He’s rubbing his cool fingers through my hair and over my horns and he’s singing to me. I don’t think anyone’s ever sung to me before.

“Who knows how long I've loved you. You know I love you still. Will I wait a lonely lifetime? If you want me to, I will.”

My head is cradled in his lap and the rest of me is curled around him. He must feel me start to stir because he stops his song (I wish he wouldn’t). I rub my face over his thighs as I blink myself awake.

“You gave me a right fright there. I hope you’re feeling better now.”

I turn so I can look up at him and nod, trying to give him a reassuring smile. His thumb rubs over my cheek bone, I mirror the gesture.

My mate.

He pets my horns and combs his fingers through my hair. I feel so safe in his hands.

“What do you want most right now? I could reheat some food, get you some water, draw you a—“ I pull his mouth down to mine in answer. What I want is him, always.’

Bimonthly Media Roundup

- Barbie (Movie) - Hell yeah it's here! Got to see this with my three closest gal pals and the energy at the theatre was fantastic, it was genuinely heartwarming to see how many people were dressing up in their best cutesy/pink clothes in the spirit of the film. The movie itself was also great, one of the funniest things I've seen in a long while, pitch perfect casting, on the nose but still entirely accurate social commentary, Incredible set design, and another life affirming-You are who you choose to be story. If I had to complain I'd say that Barbie should have spent a bit more time actually enjoying aspects of the real world in order to justify her decision at the end, but I understand that they didn't want to mess with the pacing so it's whatever. This movie was pure fun, I'll definitely be showing it to my parents when it comes out on streaming. Oh Also! AroAce Barbie rights baby, she's one of us now!

- The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady (Anime) - Alright, so this was a nice little story. The couple was genuinely cute both in terms of the individual characters being interesting in their own right and also having a lot of nice moments together, I appreciated how much of the story actually had interesting and relevant things going on outside of their relationship, and I'm shocked and enthused about how actually openly queer the story ended up being by the end-No ambiguity here these girls are gay as hell. I actually wish it was a bit longer - I went to the manga expecting more content and while there where a few nice extra scenes for the most part the anime covers all that's out so far. I wonder if the novels go deeper, I'll keep an eye on that as I'd really like to see if the dragon heart fusion plot went anywhere, it kind of fizzled out in the anime. Still if my main complaint is that I want more than that's not too bad, it get's a major thumbs up from me.

- ENNEAD (Webcomic) - Ah yes, the webcomic I wouldn't quite call a guilty pleasure as I don't feel guilt for enjoying a story with such a unique setting and aesthetic, genuinely engaging writing, and stellar art direction, but which nonetheless feels like one given how much I would never recommend it to anyone I know. I just don't have the mental fortitude to defend the sheer amount of trigger warnings this story would have to include before jumping in. That aside, It was on hiatus for awhile but has picked back up so I binged the new season and am enjoying the slightly lighter tone so far - At the very least the protagonist and love interest are getting a lot of cute, banter heavy, nice moments together which is a welcome change from seasons 2 kind of necessary but still tough to read mass of suffering. Also on a meta level, drama aside, it's pretty funny to see Horus trying defend the genocidal, war crime committing, unapologetic bastard that is Seth on the grounds that he's pretty and sad and is trying his best now okay? He's his poor little meow meow.

- When the Third Wheel Strikes Back (Webcomic) - For some reason a bunch of these chapters either got uploaded or translated all at once as their was like 15 with a new one each day there for a minute. Which, great! this is a fun one to binge. When they are well written, the "Please stop including me in the plot I'm just trying to live quietly" protagonists can be a lot of fun as they keep getting dragged kicking and screaming into increasingly world-altering bullshit and that's this story to a T. The humor in general is pretty great so far, and while we don't know too much about them yet I do like both deuteragonists, I'll be happy to see more of their interactions as a trio.

- Link Click (Anime) - Finished our rewatch of season 1, onto season 2. While I'm interested in the plot, I do still wish they would have spent more time with our leads outside of their job as I still don't feel like I know them very well, but eh at least their likable and serve the rising suspense well. The new OP is super cool with it's full scale rewind giving new meaning to each visual and overall the series still looks great. I like the design of the new villain though I hate the "overtly evil anime face" that he (rarely) and his subordinates (often) use - It just makes me irrationally angry with it's lack of nuance I guess.

- Lego Monkie Kid(Cartoon) - I'm a fan of Journey to the West and Sun WuKong adaptations in general so I decided to check this out despite not really being the demographic or a big LEGO fan. I'm a couple episodes into the 2nd season so far and my general opinion is that I like it but don't love it yet. The animation and voice acting is great and lego-fication aside I do like the character designs, I just feel that for now there's not enough of a central plot/lore information on the cast and a bit too much basic fighting for my taste. Mostly I just want them to address how the other journey to the west counterparts relate to the original story (are they reincarnations? Ancestors? Why does the Monkey King seem completely uninterested in them?) and feature more non-fighting related character bonding. Anyway, MK, Mei, and especially Red Son are all fun so far and I love the Macaque's demon design and the "Sun WuKongs bitter ex BF" vibes he's giving off, exited to see more of all of them.

- Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (Video Game) - Hmm. Well I have to agree with the general opinion that the first one was one of the lesser games in the series - I did like some of the new characters like Badd and Lang but man did the cases drag and feature a lot of uninteresting nonsense. I'm not too impressed with the 2nd game yet either though there has been some funny writing moments and Sebastian is kind of hilarious, so I feel like it will probably be better than the first.

- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Video Game) - Getting a bit burnt out from the sheer amount of Stuff to do in this game, but I did enjoy infiltrating the Yiga base and hanging out with them, they're pretty fun. Might take a longer break from it here soon and finish the game at a later date like I did with Persona 5-Great games but man is there a lot of content.

- Crazy Ex Girlfriend (TV) - Getting into the endgame now, the meta jokes are pretty fun and I appreciate the themes of self-reflection and making amends that this season has going not only for Rebecca but for the other characters as well. Songs still slap as well.

So:

A dragon is mortally wounded in a battle with humans and gods and uses magic to flee the battle to die far away from the war she was born into but hates. As she is slowly dying a woman stumbles across the dragon and, through an act of kindness, save’s the dragon’s life.

They talk far into the night, and the dragon decides that she will hide from the war, living among humans and serving her life debt to the woman who saved her. Over time they become close, adopt a child, and the three live together as a found family.

The good: The core of this show is so fucking good, if you can ignore the seriously bullshit anime bullshit going on (Lucoa what the fuck) it is very much worth a watch. The real heart of the show comes into it’s own when their adopted daughter becomes a main focus.

The bad: Besides Tohru (the dragon) the LGBT rep is largely implied, though there is really great room for a HC of Kobayashi as an aroace woman. There is some minor anime nonsense going on. The big problem is the side character Lucoa. The character of Lucoa alone takes this show down from a solid thumbs up to seriously questionable and highly problematic.

Lazily flipping through the channels, Virgil was starting to contemplate giving up on the tv all together.  Clicking through a few more channels, he landed on a movie that he’d seen before, before tossing the remote on the table.  Pulling out his phone, he started to open up an app before his phone was pulled out of his hands.

“Hey!” He huffed, before suddenly his lap was full of royalty.

“Is for horses.” Roman said, setting his phone to the side, before wrapping his hands around the sides of Virgil’s neck.

Pulling him closer, Roman waited until he got a small nod before pressing their lips together.  Virgil’s hands moved to Roman’s hips, holding on as Roman deepened the kiss, thumbs brushing Virgil’s jaw.  Shifting closer, Roman tilted Virgil’s chin up more, letting out a soft groan as Virgil’s hands slid under his top.

“Don’t get too hansy now, we are on the couch.” Roman mumbled against his lips, sucking softly on the Virgil’s bottom lip.

“You started it.” Virgil shot back, letting his hands slide higher up, fingers spread wide.

“Virgil.”

“Roman.” Virgil smirked, groaning as Roman kissed him again, holding on tight as Roman sunk them out of the room.

A Not-So-Classic Fairy Tale

(Carry On Countdown Day 14)

(Ok so I feel like I need to explain for this to make sense; it’s like Beauty and the Beast but Agatha is Belle, Simon is Gaston, and Baz is Lefou Ok? Ok.)

Once upon a time, in the far away land of Watford, where magic and curses and dragons were real, there lived a girl. Her name was Agatha. She was beautiful and fair. She had long blonde hair, and stunning green eyes. Her magic was clean and pretty, it resembled daisy’s in a field and pink, soft velvet. Practically all the men (and some of the women) in the quaint village wished she were theirs. Especially a certain lad by the name of Simon Snow.

Simon was golden. The town was as infatuated with him as they were with Agatha. Though he had started life as a poor orphaned child with nothing to his name, he quickly became a favorite among the townsfolk. He was a hero, strong, powerful, and full of heart. He had bronze hair and tan skin; a galaxy of moles and freckles. His magic was explosive, like green smoke. It felt like a super-nova: too much all at once and impossible to control.

It made sense, in a classic fairy tale sort of way, that the pair would end up together. The hero boy and the pretty maiden girl. But Simon had been chasing her for a while. Presenting her with flowers, showing off his sword tricks, talking to her about how adorable their children would be.

None of it worked however. Agatha, though there was probably not an accurate term for it at the time, was Aromantic. She had no intentions of settling down with Simon Snow; in fact, she  had no intentions of settling down with anyone. Agatha wished she could hide away somewhere else, with only her father and her best friend, Penelope.

Unfortunately Simon was completely oblivious to Agatha’s feelings. But he was oblivious to a lot of things. Including his own feelings at times. The biggest thing he over looked thought, was Basilton, his friend. Their relationship had started with hate, Basilton coming from a wealthy family in Egypt and Simon being an orphan and caused many disputes between the boys.

Now, Basilton was Simon’s most loyal companion and trusted friend. He was tall with long black hair, usually pulled into a small pony tail, and had dark skin. His magic swift and graceful, he loved using fire. Basilton, did not fit well into the perfect fairy tale story arc however. He had more than platonic feelings for Simon. Basilton repressed these emotions because he knew that stories never end with the price and the price. He also knew his friend was head over heels in love with Agatha (and he was fairly certain Simon Snow was not interested in other men).

One fateful day, Simon had proposed to Agatha. He’d asked Basilton to help set up something magical, literally. The ‘show’ was spectacular. It consisted of roses and fireworks, a whole orchestra, and a heart of fire with Simon in the center holding a ring. Agatha was more interested in the spell Basilton had used for the fireworks than the ring in Simon’s hand. She, as kindly as she possibly could, refused his offer of marriage, and retreated to her cottage.

Simon, left in the aftermath of his confession with nothing to show for his effort, felt distraught. He didn’t understand why Agatha didn’t love him. He didn’t understand why things weren’t working out like he always thought they would. Defeated, he sulked to the town square and decided ale might help his mood. As he sat on a stool, Basilton spotted him.

“So… how did it go…? Eh? Should I write the minister? Request he arrive early tomorrow?” Basilton nudged his friend, surely the pair would be happily wed within the week. He pushed his personal opinions of that away and focused on being a supportive friend. If Simon was happy, Basilton could be happy.

“Cut it out, will ya?” Simon, sighed, feeling as if salt was being rubbed in his wound, even though he knew the mans intentions were pure.

“Aw, why Snow, did the golden girl turn you down?” He inquired, half mockingly, half confused/concerned.

“Yes, she did so can you please drop it?”  Basilton’s playful smile instantly dropped.

“Oh Simon-” he sat next the other man, “-I had no idea, I’m sorry I would not have said that i-”

“It’s fine Baz, how were you to know?” Simon leaned into his companion as Basilton put a comforting arm around him. “I mean what’s wrong with me? Huh Basilton? Is it my looks, my magic? She rejected me. Humiliated me. Why?”

“Snow. It disturbs me to see you like this, “He turned to face the other man, “looking so down and distraught.” He took his shoulders, “look around-” Basilton gestured to the others in the bar, “Every guy here would love to be you Snow. Even if your magic is a mess.“ He teased.

“Everyone’s inspired by you, you’re the towns favorite guy.” Basilton stood up. “Honestly Agatha must be blind, ‘cause it’s not hard to see why.” Simon smiled at his friends attempt to cheer him up.

“Basilton, you can stop.” He pressed the darker mans shoulder.

“Stop!? Preposterous, I won’t hear of it!” Simon blushed. “Look at you! Bronze skin, blue eyes, no ones compares to your looks!”

“Seriously Baz, enough” This only made Basilton get louder.

“Your magic is unmatched! Your sword skills impeccable! Not to mention your punches!” He playfully hit Simon's arms. Basilton was on the verge of shouting and Simon, with the help of alcohol, decided to let loose.

“As a specimen, yes, I’m intimidating!” He mockingly declared and took a bow.

“My, what a guy!” Basilton gestured to his friend, the whole bar now paying attention to the popular, if not odd, pair.

“Simon Snow is the best!” He exclaimed. “And the rest are a mess.” He whispered to Simon.

Basilton continued lavishing his companion with compliments, trying to boost his confidence and also finally expressing some of his feelings inadvertently. The pair becoming more obnoxious and drunk as time passed. Basilton ended his stream of flattering remarks with,

“And his name’s” He drawled, “S-I-M-O-N S-wait.” He giggled, leaning on Simon for support. “What’s nest-next? S-O-W-N…? No no s-w… whatever. Simon Snow!!” And everyone cheered.

As the intoxicated pair laughed with each other, Simon remembered why Basilton was trying to cheer him up and became upset again.

“Basilton, thank you, but all this boost-boo-boosting my self-esteem isn’t gonna make Agatha love me. Face it, no one will love me.” Simon sunk into a chair.

“Now Snow,” Basilton whispered in the crowded room. “We know that isn’t true.”

“You can stop lying to make me feel better, Basilton.” Simon’s head hung.

“Snow, you could have anyone in this world you want, stop being so hung up on Wellbelove.”

“I know, I know it’s dumb I just-” Simon stopped, staring into Basilton’s gray eyes.

During the mage’s dramatic telling of Simon’s likable traits, the boy had realized some things.

 At first he realized how lucky was to have Basilton as a friend, he was willing to make a fool of himself in public just to cheer Simon up. 

Then he realized that no matter how many things Basilton found to praise him, Simon was still not good enough for Agatha, and he would never be as good as Basilton. Sure Simon was popular and ‘the most powerful magician alive’ but he couldn’t control his magic and he stuttered. Basilton however, was flawless in practically everything. His magic was powerful and controlled. His fighting skills, be it fencing, boxing, you name it, were refined and breathtaking to watch. In fact, Simon realized, everything about his friend Basilton was breathtaking. His tall figure, gorgeous hair, dark skin, even his quick wit and sarcastic comments made Simon envy him all the more.

Until, Simon came to his third and last realization: He had feelings for Basil, romantic feelings. At first he thought is absurd, Simon had never found himself attracted to another male, but as he thought on it more, it made a lot of sense to him. So when his friend had finished his ‘performance’ of sorts Simon realized there were now two people he had wanted that he could never have.

“Anyone you say?” Simon asked with a sliver of hope buried under miles of doubt.

Basilton unsure of where he was going with this reassured, “Yes Snow, anyone.”

Timidly, yet characteristically brave, Simon asked in a low voice, “A-any one? Even, even yo-you?”

Basilton looked into the eyes of the boy he longed for, sure that this was his drunk mind play tricks on him. He touched the smaller boys chin, rubbing his thumb over his favorite mole. Basilton didn’t understand how the great Simon Snow could want him, but he wasn’t lying when he said the boy could get anyone.

Slowly, carefully, Basilton leaned in until their foreheads were touching. “Yes, Simon, especially me.” And with that Simon Snow was kissing Basilton Pitch.

The men had started courting each other. It was awkward at first, with the town being a little disappointed the Golden Pair wasn’t as “meant to be” as previously thought, yet they weren’t exactly surprised at the news of Basilton and Simon.

Eventually Basilton did write the minister, this time to officiate his own marriage to Simon Snow, not Agatha’s.

Eventually, Agatha did hide away with Penelope. She had had enough of the small town and their small ways, so she decided to leave. Her and her closest friend traveled until they came upon an old enchanted castle, but that is another story, for another time.

And so they all lived happily ever after.

I have a lot of things to say in this authors note. 1st can we all admit that the scene in Beauty and the Beast where Gastons friend (Lefou) does a whole musical number to cheer up his friend is a little gay. Like just a little bit gay. 2nd This was all me just shamelessly plugging my hc that Agatha is aroace. 3rd adding on to that, can we have more classic style fairy tales with a-spectrum main characters? Please?4th I’m sorry for the cheesy title but I can’t think of anything better. 5th I’m actually proud of myself for this plot idea and this is the most I’ve written so far for any countdown prompt. Ok I think that’s all sorry for my rambling.

Note: Logan is Ace.

Logan groaned softly as he felt the first tendrils of his heat starting to crawl through his veins, making him feel warm.  He knew that in less than two days he would be in his full blown heat, his body wanting something he didn’t normally.  When he wasn’t a slave to his biology, he really hated anything more than deep kisses. Before he had met Roman, it hadn’t been a problem when his heats showed up, he would just lock himself away until it was over.  Even before they started living together, Logan was able to hide himself away for a while.  But now….

“Fuck.”  He heard Roman groan soon after he heard the front door close.

Making his way slowly into the room, he took in the sight of Roman taking deep breaths through his mouth.  Roman’s eyes slid over to Logan, making him swallow hard before letting out a breath, Logan shivering.

“You’re going to be in heat soon.”  Roman stated, watching Logan nod.

“I am,” Logan frowned, wrapping his hands around his stomach, trying to stop his hands from shaking.

“I should go.”  Roman said, running his fingers through his hair.

“What?” Logan asked, watching him grab his things again.

“You smell amazing, Lo.  And I know how our bodies work and the second that you’re in heat and I’m there, you’re going to beg me to fuck you.  And I’m not going to pretend that I wouldn’t go into rut.  So I’m going to go, I’ll stay with Virge or Rem until you’re heat is over.  Because I’m not going to force you to submit to something you don’t enjoy.

I may be an Alpha, but I’m not a brainless meathead.  You are my partner and I love you, so I’m going to go.”

Logan opened and closed his mouth a few times, tears welling in his eyes as Roman grabbed his coat.

“W-wait.”

“I have to get out of here, Lo,” Roman said softly, coming over and cupping his cheek, thumb wiping away a tear.”I promise, I’m not leaving you, I love you too much.  But I won’t force anything on you.”

“I love you too.”  Logan sniffled.

Roman smiled softly, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to his lips before pulling back again.

“I’ll have Pat come over and grab some of my clothes, and I’ll be back when you call.  Ok?”

“Ok.” Logan nodded, letting Roman kiss him again before he headed towards the door.

“I’ll return in a few days my love.”  Roman told him, blowing him a kiss, Logan catching it.

“See you then, my prince.” Logan told him, watching him go, a warm feeling in his heart.
