What is a favorite fandom headcanon for you?
One of mine is that Dorian would actually like to do something messy like gardening or painting wildly but that he doesn't feel comfortable exposing that side of him until after he gets together with The Iron Bull (which I suppose is also a headcanon lol as long as I'm not trying to date one of them).
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.*
My favorite headcanon? Okay, I see your ‘Dorian isn’t afraid of dirt’ and raise you a ‘Kirkwall is where the original Magisters entered the Fade and started the Blight, because they had ready access to millions of slaves and killed a bunch to do it and even thousands of years later the emanations of that are why Kirkwall mages are so easily corrupted and a magnet for sorrow ever since’.
And for a more companion centric one? The Iron Bull doesn’t love pink just to be contrary. After he lost his eye his brain went a little haywire and he developed a neurological version of Deutan Color Blindness (which is a rare but real occurrence!), and now it’s not just his favorite color but the only one he sees somewhat normally.

Headcanon: Cussing
Dedicated to the very kind Anon who requested it!
I hope you (and all of you, nice folks!) like it. It was wonderful way to get reacquainted with my own Tumblr.
As always, reblogs, comments, likes, are all treasured and appreciated!
--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->
Cassandra: when she was a child, she used to do it a lot. A. Lot. Mostly for the chance to see her relatives shocked and appalled. She heard the guards in her uncle’s estate cussing here and there, when they were sure nobody was nearby. Therefore, if they were doing that, to be a warrior partly involved cussing, right? Growing up, she tones it down a great deal, realizing that cussing can actually weaken your voice during an argument or make you look undignified. This is something the Right Hand of the Divine simply can’t allow. She is not shocked to hear it, mind you, but she keeps the few ones she needs to bark out mostly for when she is not doing anything official near someone important.
Blackwall: he has lived among soldiers. Cussing is part of a normal day as it is training in the sparring ring. Curiously, though, he doesn't like cussing unless it just escapes his mouth out of exasperation. He blames having been in contact with Orlesians too much, but he prefers a well thrown insult to an actual curse. When he acted as a Grey Warden, he tried even harder to refrain himself, wanted to appear a dignified and rightful guidance. When he lets one slip, though, it is a big one!
Dorian: he has a potty mouth, simply put. Oh, sure he tries to correct it a lot, and generally he succeeds in selecting a more refined language. Surely, he doesn’t cuss near Madame de Fer - no way in the Void he is letting anyone Orlesian think they are more refined than he is. However, he cusses in the bedroom. In the heat of passion or during a role-playing he lets go of everything that blocks him, and just... curses. When he is angry, the best curses to spit out at his enemies are in Tevene, and he switched to it almost unconsciously.
Varric: he is a writer. A master of words. Simply put, cursing is boring. Cussing can be fun during a heated moment, but it lacks the mastery of language he so much loves. Cussing is too easy. A quick, sly, possibly brutal reply is a true testament to a writer’s ability, or so he likes to think. He laughs if someone cusses out of frustration (and Hawke used to do it with every breath) and shrugs nonchalantly if someone tries to offend him with it. If Bartand’s insults didn’t bother him, nothing can.
Solas: cussing is debasing, full stop. He will not lower himself engaging in such peasant activity. There are so many other methods you can pick to make your displeasure clear, that he simply cannot understand why someone should choose such trivial words. Even when he is angry, he can’t see the point of it. Especially when he’s angry, actually. Cursing while annoyed means not being able to make his point clear enough. An insult can't substitute an explanation, can it?
Sera: cussing is one of the very few joys the Maker dropped on Thedas and by Andraste’s tits, she is going to take full advantage of it! She cusses as often as she breathes. Nobody can say if it’s because she is just so used to it that she can’t distinguish those words as curses anymore or because she simply doesn’t care. Probably a bit of both. She is particularly extravagant in the words she selects, so much that Varric actually starts to admire her efforts.
The Iron Bull: the Qun disapproves of swearing because it means you have lost control over yourself. Secretly, though, he has always had a thing for swearing. It sounds fun and it actually is a good way to release stress! He likes to swear freely, but not around children.  He uses the curses both as an insult or as a compliment, depending on the audience. To his companions’ amusement, the happiest he is, the more he cusses. He wouldn’t curse while fighting a dragon, though. It would be too disrespectful!
Cole: he tries it once for fun and makes Varric and The Iron Bull laugh. He does not do it again, though, because the words are heavy on his tongue, and they cut if told too often. He can see little bruises left on the souls and skin of the people being cussed at. Someone thinks to use it in a friendly way, but it’s dangerous. The outcome too uncertain. No, no, he doesn’t want to take the chance to hurt somebody. Better not saying it.
Vivianne: she would choke on her own tongue than put on such a display of vulgarity. It’s not all snobbery, as most of the people around her think. Sure, cussing is actually something that servants and ... less noble people tend to indulge in. Even the Templars in her Circle frowned hearing their comrades’ curse, let alone Mages. Her true reason, though, is that in the Orlesian Court a few things are as much disapproved as cursing is. You curse and nobody asks you to go to their party, or accept a gift, or meet the people you need to meet. You are even slightly vulgar, and the Court dismisses you as quickly as a lighting running through the sky. Cursing is what can kill you in Orlais. And Vivienne is too clever not to know it.
Advisors
Josephine: she is a proper lady, so she knows cussing is bad. She is also Antivan, with passionate Antivan blood in her veins, so she is not shocked when she hears it. Her good manners however are too ingrained on who she is to let her curse, even if she is distressed or angry. Only Leliana has heard her cursing once, through gritted teeth and pressing her knuckles to her lips. Josephine has made her sworn she won’t ever tell anyone, and she has sweetened the deal with the most exquisite pair of Antivan slippers the Spymaster has ever seen.
Cullen: he curses. He tries not to curse at other people, but he does use some chosen words when he is upset and possibly alone. Or when he is happy and doesn’t know how to articulate his feelings. Fereldan Templars are way different than their Orlesian counterparts. Cursing is not a scandalous thing, it’s part of a normal day in a heavy armour. Now, he doesn’t want to curse too much, especially in front of ladies or children, and he does a wonderful job in restraining himself. During a battle, though? He literally curses his way through the enemies.
Leliana: she curses only thinking about her enemies - so, a lot, but only when she is alone. The Divine Justinia found that exhilarating, when she caught her Left Hand doing so, one day. Leliana doesn’t have any particular belief about cursing, outside the Orlesian court. It’s just another way for people to express themselves.

Cullen goes absolutely mad when his mate is pregnant. From the moment they tell him, he can barely keep his hands to himself. He is in constant awe of them and what they're sacrificing to bring their child into the world. He is careful to temper his hunger, filling his need with praise and doting acts of service.
When they do make love, he is as attentive as he’s always been (since they are always foremost in his mind there is little room for improvement there) but it’s more. When they tell him this, unable to describe it any other way, he chuckles and attributes it to hormones. But they see what he doesn’t.
It’s not just a previously undiscovered kink, but a manifestation of what he subconsciously believes he’s unable to express any other way. He tells them he loves them, that he appreciates everything they do and every moment they have together. That he can’t believe how the Maker has blessed him. But, it never felt like enough before and it certainly doesn’t now.
So, he watches them sleep to ward off nightmares. Touches them, even with a brush of his fingers, when they are near to feel their warmth. Reads to them because they find comfort in his voice. Draws baths and raids the kitchens at all hours of the night. Most of all, he promises that his love and attention will not fade when the child comes. That all of this veneration isn’t just because they’re pregnant.
Though, he says it as if he doesn’t believe it himself, like he’s worried he’s making promises he can’t keep. But they assure him they know and they’ve never doubted. It’s one of the reasons they love him so much. Why they’re happy to carry his child.
And…why they will always match his appetite with equal enthusiasm. After all, hormones tend to make them crave more than just lemon cake in the middle of the night.

Thinking about Eralen once again and how she most definitely fell apart watching Ameridan turn to dust in front of her eyes. Up to that point, she's been benevolent and strong, enduring all the shit she's been put through as the Inquisitor. Solas has also very recently broken her heart with the measly excuse that their love distracts her from her duties as Inquisitor. She's been angry, sad, and raw, but keeping it together as a leader.
Until she meets Ameridan. Until she looks at him and it's like looking in a mirror - and then he fades away with grace and poise that would be impossible to many a lesser man.
She completely loses it in that moment, tears streaming down her face, hiccuping and gasping for air as her chest closes in on itself... Because she just watched herself die as well. This is the one moment she allows herself to grieve the loss of the rest of her life.
And tomorrow, she'll endure once more.

Talia/Amayia
Thank you for the ask.
-
Talia is probably the only one who could ever consistently get Amayia to smile.
Some do get a faint shadow of one, but Talia's mere presence lifts Amayia out of her shyness.
Amayia constantly is seen holding her hands or stroking Talia's back, staring fondly as Talia goes on about something.
Even if its a mundane thing, Amayia adores listening to Talia.
Talia's shirts do go missing a lot of the while, and she has the biggest smile on a person's face when she sees Amayia in hers. And the heaviest blush.
Amayia finds she especially enjoys Talia's blush.
Talia gets back for breaking her brain by lifting Amayia up and carrying her to bed.
Amayia just gets very red and hides her face into Talia's neck, enjoying Talia's show of strength and how warm she is.
They both have matching braids that they do every morning after their bathing.

romanced!cullen reacting to the Inquisitor not coming back to skyhold on time. like maybe they went on a mission themselves and were supposed to be back by now? maybe they snuck off.
Tumblr media
He paced back and forth in his office. A cold night falling over skyhold, yet the commander had sweat on his brow. She was supposed to be back. She was supposed to be in his arms, safe and sound. He felt his heart tighten in his chest, anxiety starting to peak it's ugly head in to pay him a visit. He took a deep breath, running his finger's through his blonde locks. "She's fine. She is absolutely fine." He breathed out, sitting at his desk. A bit of guilt began to pull at his heart. She isnt weak. She's grown. How dare he asume she needs yo be guarded like treasure. He shook his head at the thought. 'But she is treasure.' He thought. 'My treasure.' He turned to look out the thin window, the sky turning orange and pink from the sun giving it's last kiss goodbye to the daylight. 'But she shouldnt have gone alone, she should have brought a party with her!' He gripped the wall in frustration. All he could do is believe in her. But for his own sanity, he asked Leliana to send her scouts around just to keep an eye out for her and so he knee she wasnt in any danger. And damn is she going to get a talking to when she gets back. Not just from him but from the other advisors and definitely Cassandra. He started to feel worry for her at the thought.

Cleaning out my drafts and apparently I came up with these because Christmas with the fam circa 2014 was hella annoying.
Rogue-quisitors are
multi-taskers. They wake up maybe an hour before everyone else, or perhaps come back at that time. They’ve been out or up doing something mischievous and unruly, but so long as no one finds out, it’s not an issue. Like coming up with traps or poisons, the Inquisitor likes to experiment with their food - nothing is ever the same, and they often flit across the room, grasping at every little thing to put their breakfast together, both hands doing something at once. Everything is, of course, put back where they were found, maybe a few centimetres off, and when everyone else is up and eating, someone bellows “Who touched my—” before they shout angrily down the hall for the rogue, who is no where to be found.
a tricky little dancer. They follow no distinct patterns, but rather combine several steps of various dances into one for a fun little mix of their own. They are upbeat, giddy and bouncy, never one to stand still anywhere anyway. Their partner is easily overwhelmed by the confusing footwork, and eventually give up and follow the Inquisitor’s lead to the best of their ability, laughing half the time at the odd things they do.
a coy and old-fashioned romantic. Love notes, sonnets, and childish little gifts are left in their lover’s possession at the most inappropriate times, and the lover can’t figure if the rogue is immature or trying to make them blush when they find a crown of daisies dressing their sword and shield in the company of others. They’re amused by bondage and blindfolds, mostly because they can’t pass up a challenge, no matter where it occurs, and their hands are never tied up for long.

I’ve seen you blogging a lot of Dragon Age (and a lot of other ppl I follow too, honestly) and I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about it. It seems pretty cool!
oh ya sure!! oh boy this is gonna be a lot lmao,, but,, Dragon Age is an RPG by Bioware–they also made Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic, in case you’ve heard of those–and the DA series are easily some of my favorite video games. They go super in depth with lots of lore and there’s tons of world building,, I’m embarrassed by the number of fantasy Elvin words I know and I can tell you way too much about the history of fake countries cause that’s where I’m at lmao,,
Tumblr media
To try and summarize: the first game is called Dragon Age: Origins, and the focus is very much on fleshing out and playing through a backstory that you handcraft for your PC. You can be everything from an elf trying to reclaim their lost history, to a privileged human of the ruling nobility, a sheltered mage that’s locked away from the rest of the world for “their own good,” a dwarf just trying to survive whose always been a fighter at heart–skilled enough to champion a tournament, and so on. I played the City Elf origin and it just about killed me.
The appeal here is you can start with various different branching paths and backstories, all of which culminate in your character becoming a Grey Warden. Essentially, DA has these monstrous sort of demonic creatures called darkspawn and usually they’re very disorganized and attack at random. But sometimes there’s a more powerful demon that can connect to them and control them as a kind of hive mind; they become a more organized army force, and spread a “Blight” and its taint wherever they go–it causes sickness and a long suffering death, makes the land completely uninhabitable, lots of bad shit. There’s only been four Blights before Origins, so they’re pretty rare, usually centuries apart.
Tumblr media
In the event of a Blight, the only thing that can stop the lead demon and its army is a Grey Warden. They’re a,, supposedly “neutral” party in political affairs; they’re meant to be an outside force from other armies and they aren’t divided by nations or anything, if you’re a Warden, you’re a Warden everywhere. So they’re also kinda above the law. Wardens can requisition land and resources, forcibly recruit condemned criminals and high ranking nobles alike–“anything to stop the Blight.” They’re elite warriors, and the only ones who can actually sense the darkspawn. That’s because they’re already tainted by them. You drink some darkspawn blood,, probably you die, but maybe you don’t,, and if you survive,, congrats!! You’re in the Wardens. Forever. You can run, but they’ll probably find you. There’s really no running from the fact that the taint will get you eventually in a few decades though. In Origins you end up being one of the only two surviving Wardens left to defend the country of Ferelden during the Fifth Blight–you have to travel the country, gather allies, try to prove you’re not a war criminal, save the whole world, and don’t forget to pet your dog :’)
Dragon Age 2 is a lot simpler to talk about with all that context out of the way–you’re Hawke, a Ferelden refugee fleeing from the Fifth Blight. The Warden saves the world and everyone throws a big party just as you’re getting settled in your new city. Kirkwall is…a lot,, real creepy place. Maybe it’s that it used to be the center of the Imperium’s slave trade and is still called “The City of Chains.” Maybe it’s all the centuries of blood magic and death that’s seeped into the walls. Maybe it’s those architecture plans you find for the city that point out it’s been built in the shape of one big magical glyph. But there’s something weird there and the whole place is incredibly unsettling. Way more demons crammed into one city than most of the country combined, templars ready to turn on every mage in sight, there’s a lot happening in that one little place.
Tumblr media
I always say that other Dragon Age games are more about the player, but DA2 is really about your party members. It’s your companions’ stories–Hawke is sort of this unsuspecting bystander that just gets dragged under by all the city’s malevolent machinations. And ultimately–accidentally, so very unfortunately–they wind up at the very epicenter of it all. Maybe it’s about Hawke, a snide, sarcastic refugee just trying to provide for their family and take care of their friends. But it’s probably more so the story of a quintessential Byronic antihero tortured by his past and sparking a war for mage freedom, or a charming pirate captain in search of her mysterious lost treasure and who knows more about the city’s supposed “invaders” than she lets on. Or the silver-tongue dwarf with a love of telling stories, and a penchant for extravagant lies–the narrator of it all, and entirely unreliable.
At its core, DA2 is about mages and templars. The mages typically being locked away in towers known as Circles because they’re seen as “too powerful, a danger to themselves and others,” etc. They’re guarded by knights that work for the dominant religious order known as Templars. Only the Templars frequently harass and systematically abuse the mages in their charge instead of “protecting” them. Ultimately, it’s also about betrayal and redemption, how far someone can go before they’re beyond redemption, etc.
DA2 always hits this very melancholic note that neither of the other games quite reach. I think it’s because Origins and Inquisition are very grandiose in scope and scale,, you’re a chosen hero,, you’re saving the world,, the player is incredibly empowered. But in DA2, it really does feel like you have no power. Like you’re just trying to scrape by and look out for the people you care about. Like everything keeps going wrong no matter how hard you try to help, like you’re a failure to your family and somehow lost your friends. DA2 is confined to a single city and so much smaller in scope and scale, but the little glimpses of intimacy that you do get from that unique experience really hits you in the end.
Tumblr media
Lastly, there’s Inquisition. You can choose your player’s race like in Origins, but you don’t really get to play out your backstory or anything, you’re just kinda thrown right into it. Inquisition is very go big, so everything is big–lots of exploration, lots of questing, LOTS OF DRAGONS,, THIS GAME IS IMPORTANT SOLELY FOR THE 13.5 DRAGONS YOU GET AS OPPOSED TO THE 1-2 IN EVERY OTHER DRAGON AGE GAME,, SERIOUSLY LACKING ON THE DRAGON PART THERE HONESTLY IT’S KINDA FALSE ADVERTISING,, but yeah I’d say DAI is the most like an open world sort of deal,, very classic high fantasy like Origins (though not so brutal or grisly like Origins), very You are the Chosen Savior stuff,, big departure from Hawke running round the sewers
DAI builds directly off the previous games and decisions players made in them, but it’s also actually very easy to jump right into with no info on prior games. I’d say it’s also the most user friendly, and it’s probably better for new players to start with it to see how they like the world. Combat and mechanics in Origins can be very tedious, and parts of it just haven’t aged well. DA2 is easier mechanically, but much more punishing and harsh with its consequences. DAI is very forgiving by comparison, and you won’t accidentally get party members killed for the calls you make. And while DAI is very lore heavy, I think it’s the perfect place for newcomers to kind of run around and try to explore the living breathing world crafted from that world.
Tumblr media
The essential plot is that you’re following on the heels of the Mage Templar War, and rogue members from the Chantry (church basically) are looking to upstart the Inquisition again, a huge military organization that waged holy wars back in the day. You end up accidentally being in charge of everything because, and I quote, “You killed everyone who was in charge.” Oh yeah, there’s also demons tearing open rifts from their world into yours and you’ve been blessed/cursed with a magic mark on your hand that makes you the Only One who can close those rifts and save the world. Build your army, get drunk with your friends after slaying dragons, dance with your partner after usurping the empress at her own ball, try not to get torn to pieces by the magic in your own hand, get good at reading tarot cards, and maybe don’t romance the Elven God of Trickery on your first (heartbreaking) play through,,
Lastly, there’s actually a fair amount of queer characters in DA, which is pretty cool. And a lot of them are romanceable partners for your character, so you can definitely play a queer PC. So,, off the top of my head–Bi characters (and romance options): Leliana and Zevran [Origins], Fenris, Anders, Isabella, Merrill [DA2], and Josephine [Inquisition]. There’s also Iron Bull, and he’s a pan character who’s romanceable in Inqusition. Dorian is gay and romanceable, and Sera is a romanceable lesbian, both also from Inquisition. Krem is a trans man and Maevaris is a trans woman, the former is a side character (and best friend of Iron Bull) in Inquisition, while the latter only appears in supplementary sources like comics, but she does get mentioned from time to time in Inquisition as Dorian’s close friend. Oh! Also--Solas and Josephine’s routes in Inquisition don’t culminate in a sex scene, so lots of people headcanon them as asexual. And you can also swing Dorian’s romance so it doesn’t have a sex scene if you wanna romance him but kinda play an ace Inquisitor, which is cool! Sorry for the long rant lmao but uhhh, I hope this helps?? :’)

I mentioned on my drawing of the Wardens' Mabaris that I planned on drawing Hawke's mabari from Dragon Age II, and a pet for the Inquisitor from Dragon Age: Inquisition. So here they are.  I based the Mabari pretty heavily off of this photo of a mastiff: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.co… and the pig-like creature, called a tusket, off of screenshots of tuskets from the game. I'll talk a bit about each pet down below.
The gray Mabari on the right is a male dog named Drake. When their firstborn daughter turned out to be a mage, Malcolm and Leandra Hawke decided that their child might require extra protection against any Templars that might come after her, so they saved and scraped together enough money to buy a Mabari pup, praying that the dog would imprint on their daughter and protect her against all dangers. Luckily, the pup took to Valerie Hawke right away, and young Valerie was absolutely delighted with her new canine companion. She tried to name the dog Dragon, since dragons were the biggest, baddest, coolest thing she could think of to name her cool new war hound after. Malcolm tentatively suggested Drake instead, as Drakes are male dragons, and it sounds a bit more like a real name. Valerie agreed, so Drake it was. Drake grew up as Valerie's guard dog, and later helped protect Carver and Bethany as well, when the twins came around, though he was always Valerie's dog. He helped out with work around their farm and always kept a close eye on any Templars in their little village, lest they come after his master. When the family had to flee Lothering from the destruction of the Darkspawn, Drake dutifully followed the family. He grieved Bethany's death with the rest of them, and he struggled to adjust to their new, cramped life in Kirkwall. Valerie did her best to take Drake out as often ass she could, taking him out on jobs, letting him help train recruits with Aveline, and just generally keeping him well-exercised and keep him from being too bored. Eventually, Drake settled well enough into city life, especially when the family moved to the Amell estate and their lodgings were more comfortable. He stood by Valerie's side through all the heartache to come - the loss of Carver to the Grey Wardens, the loss of Leandra to a horrifying death, the betrayal of Anders and having to execute her own friend, and eventually having to flee Kirkwall after helping save the mages. No matter what losses Valerie suffered, no matter how she blamed herself, Drake was always there, always by her side, always full of love for his master and never blaming her for a bit of it. When Valerie left to aid the Inqusition in their pursuit of Corypheus, Drake stayed behind with Merrill, to keep watch over her while she worked to help the alienages. He would rather be by his master's side, but Valerie couldn't risk her beloved pet with the stakes so high, not with how old he's getting, and she needs her beloved Merrill safe. Eventually, they will be reunited, and Drake will be at his master's side once again. Unlike the stoic Enasal and the goofy Liquorice, Drake is an easy-going, chill sort of dog, far more laid-back and prone to thinking before he acts than his often rash master. However, he is far too loyal to Valerie to ever leave her side, so he allows himself to be roped into all of her schemes with a dog's equivalent of the roll of hhe eyes, even the ones he knows are foolish, because he has to be there to help her if something goes wrong. He is a steady, loyal presence in Valerie's tumultuous life. He never fully liked Leandra, since she could be rather harsh to Drake's master, and he wasn't above growling at Carver when he got too snippy with Valerie, though he protected Valerie's younger siblings just as fiercely as his own master. He adores Merrill for the happiness she brings to his Valerie's life, and he enjoys hanging out with Valerie's other friends, especially Varric, who is always a good partner to play Wicked Grace with. The pig-like creature, a fictional species called a Tusket, is a male Tusket named Wrinkles. Inquisitor Kenina Adaar (drawn at that link very beautifully by @ghilenart) was out on a mission with some of her inner circle in the Fallow Mire when a nearby squealing sounded quite loudly. Out of fear that the sound would alert any nearby undead to their presence, they hunted down the source of the squealing to find a Tusket that had gotten its foot caught by a fallen rock and was now trapped in place. Kenina couldn't bring herself to kill the creature to silence it, not when it was looking at her with those scared eyes, so instead she freed it from the rock, even sparing one of her own elfroot potions to soothe the pain of its leg. That done, the Inquisitor and her companions went on their way, ready to return to their mission. Except the Tusket didn't leave. It followed behind the group like a lost puppy, clearly grateful for the aid and curious about its rescuers. Kenina had always had a soft spot for animals, and couldn't help dropping little bits of food for the Tusket, or cooing to it when they stopped to camp at night and the Tusket inched closer and closer. When he finally came close enough to touch, she scritched behind its ear and it leaned into the touch with a happy snort. The rest of Kenina's companions were less enthused about their tagalong, but the Tusket eventually proved itself to them by squealing an alarm to them one night, just in time to warn them about an Avvar attack. After that, the Tusket was welcome warmly into the group. When it was time or them to leave the Fallow Mire, Kenina was delighted that the Tusket continued to follow them. They brought him back to Skyhold with them, where Kenina named him Wrinkles and declared him to be her pet. Though she leaves him behind at Skyhold for all but the safest of outings, she spends as much of her time as she can with him when she is at Skyhold, and she dotes on her beloved pet and spoils him rotten, sneaking him bits of her food at mealtimes and giving him belly rubs and wrapping ribbons around his neck and tying them in big bows. Wrinkles, for his part, adores his Qunari master and follows her around as closely as her own shadow, snorting happily. When Kenina is away from Skyhold, Josephine looks after her lover's pet. Though she isn't as besotted with Wrinkles as Kenina is and was initially unsure how to look after such a pet, she comes to love Wrinkles dearly as well. After the events of the Exalted Council, Wrinkles moves in with Kenina and Josephine as they move in to the Montilyet estate, where all of Josephine's siblings, especially Yvette, spoil him rotten. I'm really happy with how both of these guys turned out here.  I played around with different ideas for a pet for Kenina for a while, but I think having a Tusket rather fits her, and I just love the idea of her spoiling this thing rotten and him completely adoring her in return.  And of course, I had to draw Hawke's Mabari as well. I'm going with the idea of Mabaris having a longer lifespan than regular dogs, for it to make sense for him to still be alive by Inquisition.  Anyway, this was fun, I hope you guys enjoyed hearing about my Dragon Age pet headcanons.

Random dragon age thought:
So as far as Origins playthroughs I’ve actually done, i only got around to doing ones that would’ve led to Stroud as Warden Companion in Inqusition (did a couple of Cousland games that led to Alistair king+Warden his queen, a Amell that led to Alistair king and his Warden mistress, my attempt at an Aeducan leading to Alistair and Warden riding off into Wardeny sunset together never came to fruition—attempt one was one of the times PS3 died, can’t remember if it was first death that led to loosing EVERYTHING because stupid me forgot no ps plus=no online savesand yes it’s been 4 years and I’m still bitter about that, or if it was the post-brief resurrection death that took it out for good. Second attempt was me trying to go back to Origins and eventually DA2 on PC after having upgraded to ps4, only to realize ehhhhhh no I’m not a pc gamer, and not enjoying it).
That being said through, I’ve made different world states via dragon keep so as to have varied backgrounds in my DAI games, so I’ve experienced all three Warden companion options. And that’s led me to a realization:
I for the life of me cannot get behind Loghain as Warden Companion. Not because of disliking Loghain, or feelings of the idea of doing an Orgins game where I’ve let him live and ditched Alistair for him is on the same level of sacrificing the Chargers or keeping Cullen on lyrium (aka NOOOOOOPE NEVER GONNA HAPPEN IN MY GAME. TOO FUCKING DEPRESSING) (same goes for various da2 options like yeeting Fenris to Danarius and such). Both of these things are true, but not my main issue with Loghain as Warden in DAI.
It’s Hawke. Or more specifically, how/why Hawke may know the Warden. Stroud and Alistair make sense: Hawke meets Stroud if sibling becomes a Warden, and if sibling doesn’t become a Warden, there’s still the Qunari invasion. Alistair if Warden is the one met during Qunari time, possibly with Warden sibling if Carver/Bethany had that fate.
So, when Hawke starts investigating red lyrium hooking up with Stroud or Alistair makes sense—they’ve met before, and possibly their sibling is or at least was for a time (Qunari invasion) working with them. Loghain? No such backstory. It just feels so random. Like I said, Stroud or Alistair=Hawke has met them at least once. Loghain just feels like Hawke sought out help from any Warden, and oh wow it just so happened to be this guy who was previously a known character in dragon age world.
I kinda wish there’d been option to have idk maybe Nathaniel as a Warden companion. Sure, that leads to some variables—what if he’s not alive, what if Hawke didn’t go find him in da2—but eh no more so than variables that prevent Alistair from being the Warden companion in Dai (king, dead, exiled drunk). Again, Hawke has met him and possible sibling working with him angle. Then there’s the idea well maybe even if Hawke didn’t go back to deep roads, maybe Delilah being in Kirkwall leads Nathaniel to detouring there during or after big fight to protect his sister and that leading to him and Hawke meeting*.
*okay, I’m aware that level of headcanoning required there could also work for Loghain (maybe he was near Kirkwall for some reason at some point!) but ~shrug~. I guess I can headcanon for Nathaniel a lot easier than I can for Loghain.
My current DAI game is with a Loghain Warden world state, and I’m playing here lies the abyss just so “ughh this bugs me so much. How or why did he and Hawke meet?!” So I may be keeping Loghain out of world states in the future.

i started playing tresspasser today/night
if not the break up and the post ‘he’s gone’ feelings, it’s incredibly...lonely without Solas around
i never realized like, if you fancy a person in that game, and then suddenly they aren’t there?
i mean...there is a sense of loss any way, if not for Solas. all of my friends are scattered to the winds
and honestly, i knew this feeling with Hawke, and ik inda fear it now if i ever play dragon age origins? to know where they end up, to fall in love with them myself??? just...not a great feeling
i mean, i suppose it doesn’t matter though, whatever
it’s weird to me also, because i never really knew ALL of tresspasser...just, you know, the ‘I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE WHEN YOU WALKED IN’ Solas part
but talking to every one after 2 years apart? i didnt even KNWO it was 2 years...
...it really made Lyssia lonely in a way i didn’t know she was gonna have to expeirence, and it kinda kills me inside in an amazingly painfulway
like...the Warden’s group doesn’t stay together, Hawke’s group doesn’t stay together, and the inquisition gets all broken up and im like..???
can i not?? just keeP?? my FAmIlY ToGETHER????
and it’s...funny, from Lyssia’s point of view. because during the fifth blight, she ‘lost’ her family to them, then joined Hawke’s. then during the rebellion, she lost Hawke’s family, and now jus with the inqusition being finished...she lost that too
Lyssia isn’t abel to keep familes..thought i haven’t finished it, and im...cautiously hopeful that maybe they’ll stay...but i know they dont
so it just makes me sad, again.
it makes me sad because itsj ust...how the world goes, and it peturbs me to no end.
....Varric giving Lyssia a title and a HOME at Kirkwall though, it really...really made me tear up. because Lyssia never HAD one, she just stayed with Hawke (or Fenris, or Varric, or Anders, or Merrill. she was the homeless hobo child who bummed off every one)
and the idea she could go back...but, surpRISE, no one is there...i mean, Carver and Bethany are probaby their repairing with their mother and such
and i mean..Varric is there too, and probably Fenris. probably Fenris, because Garret isn’t the Hawke who goes to Wesshaupt, that’s Marian. so of COURSE Isabella goes with her
look at all those headcanons, lol...any way
Merrill probably lives in the ailienge too? maybe??? i dont know the female or Sebastian well enough, so they probably are chill too?
Aveline is...still herself, obviously.
and then Lyssia’s dalish clans (Lavellathan and the one her Granny A runs) ruling a town???? that is connected to Kirkwall??? it just..makes me wanna cry its so great
i wonder where Lucy and Dick go after inquisition? i mean, the warden and her bae...i guess to fix up the wardens. Morrigan leaving with Kieren is kinda sad, but she’s chosen to be apart from us and that sucks because half brother but you know, whatever
people keep asking Lyssia about Solas too, and it just...its disheartening in a way i didn’t really want to expeirence. its why maybe ive also been dragging my feet with inquisition. i mean, the ‘heart break’ Solas gives us isn’t really that bad. not any more painful then seeing Hawke’s mother die or shit like that. you cry a little bit and you get over because fiction
but its....funny, this time round. it was funny seeing his little slip ups, knowing his quirks, knowing where i wanted to stand in the conversations we had. it was funny knowing where it was going and then DOING it again, the break up sceen
and itjust...kinda triggered something that recently happened, which is also hilarious. you have a new appreceiation for ficational heart break when youve expierneced it first hadn. its also funny because its so fucking similiar that i could bust a gut
its so disgustingly similiar
Solas you stupid egg. you stupid, pessimisitc, fatalisitc, adorable, dorky, heart breaking egg
with your stupid witty remarks and your stupid stubbornness to let go of the past and move on past it. your stupid shitty refusal to let me help and just hiding away from me because fucking meet me in the pit scrub
lol...
i dont know whats going to hapen to Lyssia, and im ....not persay excited for the next game. are we going to follow Hawke? is it going to follow the inqusitor? the warden? some one new??
am i not going to get the chance to find my dread wolf? am i going to have to kill him from the eyes of some one who doesn’t know, or care?
he didn’t get a balacony scene, nor a sec scene (though lol i think he implied some desire)
please just give us the option to like, save him and let him be happy with his romanced person.please. not in a ‘let them both die’ kinda way but in a ‘he doesnt destroy the world and he’s redeemed and he and his inquisitor gf go and live on a farm together’
please just let evey one go live on a farm
