it's so telling when someone says radical feminism is "white woman shit" and you bring up the fact that in many places such as africa or asia, the only feminism that prominently exists is radical feminism, and for those places it's just considered regular feminism that you get told those women live in places that aren't progressive enough for them to understand their actions properly. to say these women are too dumb to realize that their beliefs are "bad" simply because they don't align with western mainstream liberal feminism is rooted in xenophobia and racism, not to mention a lack of understanding of the struggles and violence women from these countries regularly go through, which can range anywhere from fgm to men rubbing and wiping their cum on the back of women's clothes in trains. but of course, as usual, there's no intelligent response to this so you just end up getting blocked or get rape wished on you.

So apparently Swedish and Polish facial reconstructionists decided to try to recreate the famous Incan "Ice Maiden" mummy dubbed "Juanita".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Truthfully, I feel like these European reconstructionists ( do not know how to re-create Andean facial features and the results ended up... terribly uncanny. So down below, with the use of photoshop, I edited the bust with more Andean Indigenous Peruvian facial features to honor the "Ice Maiden".
My version:
Tumblr media
I made her brows straighter and longer, got rid of the cleft chin, gave her a down-turned mouth, broader lips (not small), I made her lips a little larger too and I made her nose longer/bigger and wider around the nasal Ala. I also broadened her nostrils a tad
and I made her under-eyes more puffy
I widened her bone structure
I emphasized her sideburns
My version (on top):
Tumblr media
original (white euros created) below:
Tumblr media
I hope that in the future, more Andean/Indigenous Peruvian facial reconstructionists have opportunities to work on revealing the faces of their kin and ancestors. We needed more andean people involved in her reconstruction.
Let me know what you think of my edits down below too!
I hope you enjoy them!

We're starting to really talk about how oppression affects people on an epigenetic level for those victimized
We need to also look at how epigenetics are affected in oppressors and white supremacy
Because how in the hell you're gonna go to a South Asian country as a refugee from Europe and start tryna throw a fucking "white only" party and hating on the native people like what the fuck

I'm not scared of getting older, I'm scared of new opportunities getting shut off from me :(
#hey fun fact! did you know that in South Korea they require you to put your date of birth gender and photograph on your résumé?#and how just COINCIDENTALLY it's near impossible for you to start a new career in a new field if you're above 30?#well! it sucks!#I'm not in my thirties yet (mid-twenties) but. the pressure is on.#'do I look old' not as in 'is my skin smooth am I pretty do I have wrinkles'#but as in 'do you think I could theoretically get away with lying about my age on a résumé if it ever came down to it'#mmari rambles#mmari rants#vent post#also this is only tangentially related#but in general and not just in Korea people (especially women) are so concerned about looking old because#society is so weird about certain life experiences as this universal 'life stages' and 'milestones'#that absolutely everyone has to go through#and hitting- or rather being percieved as a certain age#comes with a bunch of societal expectations and restrictions on what's acceptable behavior#so if you haven't yet hit a certain milestone or don't feel ready to hit a certain milestone#or don't wan't to go near that milestone at all ever in your life#you feel like it's in your best interests to appear younger#and ofc there's a layer of misogyny in this too because for women the window of acceptable time to figure yourself out is much smaller#it's 'girl' when you're a kid then 'young woman' in your twenties then maybe 5 years of 'professional working woman'#and from then on it's 'MOTHER MOTHER HOMEMAKER MOTHER GRANDMOTHER'?#so if you're a woman who likes her career or just likes being financially independent or just don't want to be married#or is married but don't want children#of course there are women in their 40s and 50s who want to still look like they're in their 30s and 20s#(and of course there are other factors to this#like society teaching women & fem-aligned people that their value is intrisically tied to their looks etc etc#but this is getting WAY too off topic)#*but I think in general and not just in korea people (esp women) are so concerned about looking old because#forgot to put 'I think' in there lol

sometimes it genuinely escapes me that i have an identity that no one else has
i am me, yknow
#When you take an original character and slap on a new race or feature of identity to them you're saying you cant make an original characte#character with that kind of value.#like sometimes i forgot not everyone else is bengali American and when i find another one out in the wild its like#woah.... woah hi#and then it really like hits me yknow#cuz i can be as homo as i want. its easy to find others#but to find a bengali person with similar interests to me? i don't have that#aint even gotta be bengali. love my pakistani and indian siblings#and ig seein velma doin the race swappy thing#at first i was like “bro does it really matter all that much man like its a shit show stop getting angry over it” i was#honestly treating it lik rage bait lmaooo i still dont think its fully processed its not#but then i saw another bengali dude talk about it. like actually talk about it#and then it hit me like. i am south asian. this velma is south asian.#but is she actually? is this character I am seeing right now#is this what people see when they learn i am brown? is this what they imagine? is this an actual brown women?#and the answer is no. maybe if it was mindy kaling then yes it would be#now i cant say race swapping makes me angry. i don't care bro#literally its so much more EFFORT to care and why should i it'll all die down when its over#hate watching does nothing but fuel the things you dislike#but ig i rlly like sat down and thought about it. like rlly think about it#this character. even if the original ip WAS south asian. or even if this was an original character#its not perpetuating what its like. no no no not at all#its just putting the label on#making it known and#i dont know man i never expected stuff like this to irk me#i saw the guy i watch say this that stuck with me#smthn like that#and idk man#sorry for the rant but FUUUUUCK its hit me my identity is my identity

This song has kept my millions of scattered pieces together. Still trying to finish the puzzle but this and their "Skin of My Teeth" have kept me in check. I'm not alone. Not that they'd ever know how much they've helped me through a HUGE chunk of my life... As they have so many others. I missed the rock and roll Demi. Their ability to connect through lyrics and music production is... It blows my mind. Many may not know... actually no one knows. I am an alcoholic. I barely drink anymore. But a prominent Non-binary figure with similar views of my own sexuality that I can relate to due to life circumstances.... They’ve touched the deepest part of my heart. Hey Demi, marry me?
