There was no neccesity in assasinating Gaius' character, even if it might explain how the Shadow Decree was able to run without being captured for so long (Idea from a pal) it still came out as complete bullshit for the lack of foreshadow in any previous story event/new story chapter. And implies he enabled the burning of the Union if he was there since the start, something that completely destroys the image of a hero that was established long ago.. Also undermines Hyde as a leader too.
Dude at the start I fully believed it was Chu Yao, a character that was teased 3 times across 3 different character careers and was Raven's classmate and seemed more pausible to attack her bc of that connection + how the dialogue about her went, but nah 💀
Seriously, I want to see the drafts of the story and show me that evil Gaius was planned for some time to not believe it was a last minute twist they threw for the script.

I haven't seen anyone else bring it up but I have a mild beef with the ending of Dislyte's "Dusk & Dawn" story
(Spoilers below cut!)
So Leora turns off the Divine Wave, which should save the townspeople at the expense of Cory, who will die...
But then, out of nowhere and unforeshadowed, Leora overused her Esper powers and that restarts the Divine Wave???
And Cory is left alive to be cute and give quizzes, but... Leora chose to make a sacrifice. And her whole character development was to actually learn that there was always no way to save everyone.
So not only does this deus ex machina excuse Leora of any wrongdoing, but it also sets her back to square 1 of character development...
Like I'm not saying we should kill off a child for the sake of a game, but Leora being able to restart the Divine Wave is a cop-out in my mind.
(Then again I also assumed that the whole thing with Cory was going to be a Joe-esque situation. So I really shouldn't complain...)

HEAVY Spoilers for Elaine and Leora's character lore! Don't read if you don't want to have that pre-knowledge
SOOO essentially what I'm seeing is that they BOTH used to be part of the Shadow Decree
Leora joined because she was fangirling over Embla and joined
Elaine followed Leora, having this obsession with power and wanting to catch up to Leora
Leora left after a mission with Elaine came to a boiling point and she had to face the SD's methods and her sister
Elaine left because victory over her sister didn't give her the satisfaction she thought she would get, and went on a journey of self discovery
UGH I just want them to be happy ! As an older sister myself it hurts me to see this—but also good conflict. Thinking that their story continues from the upcoming event
