[TW RAPE, TW Japanese Imperialism]

(Disclaimer: I am far from an expert on the history of WW2 in Asia, and I only know a little bit more about it that the average American, so I apologize if I say something that is inaccurate here and welcome people to correct me if they know more.)

Part of me wonders if there is a connection between the fact that so much hentai is just entirely made up of or 90% rape (literally everything I’ve seen) and the “comfort women” war crimes committed by the Japanese military during WW2 (and probably at other times). Like pretty much an entire generation of soldiers at the very least knew about this. A whole generation of soldiers kidnapped young women and girls to be gang raped. One of the youngest surviving “comfort women” in SK was 14 when she was taken and even though soldiers commented she was too young she was still made a “comfort woman”. A whole generation lined up not only to rape women and girls but to be the 5th, 10th, or 20th guy to do so. (and other women took part in this and aided in it. They “”cared”” for these women, saw their souls dying and their bodies in pain and felt nothing for them). These people saw nothing wrong with kidnapping women and girls to be raped for hours and hours multiple days of the week and they even took part in the action itself.

And then the war ended and Japan lost, and where did these soldiers go? These men (and women) who had committed one of the worst crimes against women in human history went back into society. How many of them went into animation and eventually made hentai? How many of them started families and taught their sons to view violence against women as appealing? How many of them eventually became producers of hentai? What impact did this large amount of men who committed this horrifying act have on society? Cause they didn’t go to jail or receive any punishment for this. The Japanese government won’t even acknowledge that it happened. How much have these rapists effected porn in Japan?
