Last Song Listened To: So Much (for) Stardust by Fall Out Boy. Whoever put that post about Fall Out Boy's new album on my dash, thank you. I've listened to the entire album, it has gotten so stuck in my head I added several songs from it to my shuffle, and it's somehow now spawned a fic playlist.

Last Movie: ...oh god, I think it may have actually been Cocaine Bear?

Craving: Sleeps does sound pretty good, ngl. So Imma steal Deryn's answer.

What are you wearing rn? Super comfy lounge/yoga pants, a tanktop, and a hoodie because I like to keep the house cold, but then bundle up.

How tall are you? 5'4

Piercings: I used to have pierced ears and a navel piercing, but at some point didn't feel like having to deal with it so they've more or less all closed up at this point

Tattoos: Alas, none. Sometimes I want one, but I can never decide what I want to etch on my skin for eternity.

Glasses/contacts: Neither

Last Drink: Coffee. I was going to make a cup of tea, but got distracted with a different brewing method for my new AeroPress (which I had been struggling with getting a good cup out of).

Last Show: Um... let's see, what was the last non-YouTube thing I watched? I think it may have been the Book of Boba Fett finale, so I could finally start watching the new season of Mandalorian

Last thing you ate: A slice of toast from a dill red onion bread I picked up at a festival @kitsonpaws and I went to. It was delightful. As an aside, I have so much bread in my freezer rn

Favorite Color: My color du jour is like this deep, darkish teal. It's so pretty.

Current Obsession: I think it's probably this stupid AU that's decided to take up residence in my brain.

Unrelated Obsession: Honestly that Fall Out Boy album. So many lyrics and melodies keep getting stuck in my head.

Any Pets: A little old lady Alaskan Klee Kai (Meeka), and the one, the only, the man the myth the legend, the Griffin

Do you have a crush on anyone? I don't think I have one at the moment

Favorite Fictional Character: To the surprise of no one, right now it's one disaster spy princess, who stole my heart and my brain several years ago and really hasn't let go yet

Last Place Traveled: Oh goodness, let's not count things around town, I guess that would be up to Dallas last Christmas to see my family

I actually worked on a thing! Thanks @starknstarwars for the tag. I legit have no idea who is writing or drawing atm because my life is utter chaos, so I’m going to throw some names into the wind. If you’d like to use this as an opportunity to share your WIP, please use me as a tag.

Now calmer, Fynta walked into the room where Aric sat on his bed, legs folded and eyes closed. He still wore military fatigues, and Fynta eased onto her bed to watch the rise and fall of his chest. He looked at peace, which is probably why she’d never been good at the meditation part of wielding the Force.

The caf maker chimed, and Aric’s ears twitched. Fynta watched the Cathar inhale deeply, then sniff the air. Finally, his eyes opened. “Caf?”

Fynta chuckled. “I assume you want some?”

Aric answered in a yawn, then rubbed his face with one hand. “How long until Taris?”

“Just waiting on landing permissions.” Fynta didn’t move from her spot, watching the way Aric’s muscles relaxed into his posture, how the stress from their earlier disagreement had faded. “Does meditation actually work?”

The Cathar blinked at Fynta, then down at the hands resting in his lap. “I guess. Never thought about it. Meditation is something all Jedi are expected to master as Padawans.” When his gaze drifted up, Fynta felt the weight of it. “Is that not something Sith do?”

“Of course.” Fynta waved a hand and found a reason to look somewhere other than at Aric. “I believe I’ve already explained that I was a terrible student. Never could get the hang of sitting still that long.”

The low rumble sent a chill up Fynta’s spine, and she cut her eyes back to Aric. It had almost sounded like a laugh, but the man’s mouth never opened. Pulling her legs into a position to match Aric’s, Fynta offered a bemused stare. “Tell me your secret, Jedi. What makes meditation so important?”

“It calms the mind,” Aric answered with the immediacy of indoctrination. Then, his lips quirked into a smile. “Something you might benefit from.”

Fynta knew that Aric was referring to their brief encounter on Rishi, where she’d dropped her defenses with enough speed that he toppled into her thoughts. It had been a childish thing to do, a way to scare him away. The damn Cathar had only become more determined to join her on the quest to kill Nox. Now that they were well into the journey, Fynta was glad that he had.

“Okay, so what do you think about when you meditate?” Fynta straightened her spine and propped her hands in her lap. “Teach me your ways, oh wise one.”

Aric’s scowl didn’t budge, but he did answer Fynta’s question. “The goal is to clear the mind. Don’t actively think of anything, but reach for peace in the moment.”

“Peace is a lie,” Fynta quoted, though her joke only earned an eye roll from the Jedi. She cleared her throat. She cleared her throat and beat down her amusement. “Sorry, what do you do with this peace once you find it?”

Instead of answering Fynta, Aric closed his eyes. “Do as I do and listen to my breathing.”

Fynta obeyed, schooling her features to match Aric’s and expanding her senses to reach him. Each breath drew longer, and Fynta felt her muscles relaxing. The galaxy gradually drifted away, leaving Fynta weightless with only Aric’s presence as an anchor. She felt the air in his lungs as if it was her own, the stretch and relaxation of each muscle with the effort. Cool serenity surrounded Fynta, and it sparked a memory of the pool she and Theron had discovered on Rishi. They’d decided to bathe and wash their clothes, then one thing had led to another and—

Aric snarled. “Damn it, woman.”

Fynta realized her mistake too late and peeked one eye open to find the Cathar glaring at her. “Oops.”

Unfolding himself, Aric shoved from his bunk. “I can see why you never mastered the art of meditation. Your thoughts are like a herd of manka cats.”

“Yeah,” Fynta agreed. There was no defense if it was the truth. Slapping her hands on her thighs, Fynta pushed herself upright and headed for the other room. “It was worth a shot, how about that caf?”

Protective is probably one his strongest traits (Alongside impulsiveness, recklessness and a healthy dose of stupidity).

When he was younger, protective wasn’t really an adjective on his radar. What did he have to be protective of? Crow had no family, he simply followed his whims, did what he liked, dared to take pointless risks that put himself and others in danger and simply happened not to die.

Then he met some people he cared about, and he started to think more about keeping them safe. He began to fight for a reason, to save them, to make sure their purpose was seen through.

Then he had a kid and it’s what his world became. He learned how important being that shield was. He put his whole life aside to keep her free from the Empire, from the Jedi, free from a Galaxy that’d eat her up and spit her out.

Then she grew up and wanted out on her own and although he finds it difficult, he knows he has to let go. He was never really over-bearing, but was always aware of the dangers and possibilities around. He didn’t take stupdi risks anymore.

Then he met Ahuska, and found someone else to protect who would protect him back this time. If you asked him now? His life’s purpose is to protect the ones he cares about.

PERSONALITY

I love meeting new people. People tell me that I’m funny. Helping others with their problems is a big priority for me. (If their problems are dead, they’re solved!) I enjoy physical challenges. I enjoy mental challenges. I’m playfully rude with people I know well. I started saying something ironically and now I can’t stop saying it. There is something I would change about my personality. ABILITY

Character meme

I stole this from @dingoat because it looked like fun.

your muse’s name: Noara Starspark, she was born with the surname Lewton and will be Cadera once she and Torian get properly married.

one favourite picture:

It absolutely has to be this one that Dingoat did for me ages ago. It’s the first piece of art, and one of the few, that I have of Noara and Torian together. When I made Noara I didn’t intend to ship her with him but now it’s hard to imagine a version of her that doesn’t find her way to him even when they are raised on opposite sides of a war and with every reason to distrust and dislike one another. They both just look so happy and at peace together in this picture I love it - enough that I had a phone case made with it printed on it so it’s little surprise it is my favorite.

faceclaim of your muse:

I hadn’t actually chosen one for her before now, I don’t draw so I never felt the need to find inspiration for her looks outside of the game, but Emily Rudd is a good representation of what I imagine for Noara.

two headcanons you have for your muse:

Being told that love was the path to the dark side and complete loss of herself never sat well with her, she couldn’t understand how that could be. Love was supposed to be the best thing in the world, the reason to fight the never-ending war she had been groomed for from the time she was a toddler. Despite the warnings she was often given Noara has always been a bit in love with the idea of experiencing love. She wanted to be in love and, more importantly, she wanted someone to say they loved her. It didn’t even have to be romantic love, Noara just wanted to know that someone cared about her unlike her family that gave her away or the Jedi who would just replace her when she died with another like her without the freedom of choosing how they lead their life.

Fighting is a source of true internal conflict for Noara. She thrives in the heat of a fight, reveling in the exertion and adrenaline and lives for pulling off reality defying feats with the Force (impossible leaps and jumps, throwing people farther than she could physically, lifting things she couldn’t manage on her own) and the thrill of victory was the greatest thing she had ever felt (until a certain Mandalorian that is) but she hates taking lives. Whenever possible she spares her opponents but that is easier said than done when wielding a weapon that can so easily cut through flesh with a flick of her wrist. She isn’t able to do it as much as she would like, and doesn’t fault people who don’t avoid it like she does, but will always prefer opponents that are smart enough to surrender before she has to kill them. Or droids. Those she never feels guilty about turning into scrap metal.

three things that your muse likes doing in their free time:

Exercising, she works hard to keep herself in shape. Building and keeping muscle tone with her metabolism and body type can be difficult without a strict routine. Running, push/pull ups, sparring, and other similar activities are her go to ones but when she is on a planet with terrain that has features to vary her routine she always takes advantage. She loves going swimming or rock climbing when she can, if she can scale a cliff and then jump into the ocean afterward all the better.

Reading. Noara always has a collection of books on her datapad, all romances. It goes back to her desire to experience love in all its forms, reading gives her a chance to live vicariously through the characters without taking the risk of getting herself or anyone else hurt.

Baking and cooking. Noara isn’t very good at it, Jedi don’t really get home ec. lessons because no one expects them to set up house someday, but she is improving all the time. She is determined to be able to do something she sees as a “normal” activity for a person her age, something maybe she could have learned from her mother if she’d gotten the chance. She doesn’t tell anyone that another reason she wants to know that if she is ever a mother she can teach them what her’s never did.

seven people your muse loves / likes:

Torian Cadera, no matter which version or story line of Noara is involved, there is never anyone she loves the way she loves him.

The others depend on the version, and who is around for her to form those attachments to. In my shared Jedi Sitter story with @cinlat Noara loves her found family long before even meeting Torian. Aric she loves as a father figure, Cormac as an overprotective big brother, Elara as a stern but loving sister, and little baby Tayl as her nephew. Fynta is a mixture of big sister, mother, confidant and protector for her, someone she admires and dreams of being as strong and confidant as someday. In that story she will eventually meet her biological family, her parents and younger brother and two younger sisters, who I am sort of grouping together as the seventh.
