i am forever projecting onto din and luke and i don’t think that’ll stop anytime soon.

He can remember stories his mother told, of princes and knights. Men falling in love—heroes that saved their lands simply by loving others. The deep enduring love of friendship, the lovers’ powerful devotion, a mother’s lasting hope for her child.

Din sees that all again with Luke and Grogu. And he fears for what it all means. He’s a Mandalorian. He doesn’t love. He’s kind and gentle and harsh and deadly. Love and hatred are not things he feels.

But he remembers the fight with Paz after the darksaber. He remembers falling off the edge. Friendship without love.

Luke does not do anything without love. It is a part of him. And he’s the hero of the New Republic. He’s the kid that brought an entire Empire to its knees. And he still loves like he’s never felt loss.

Din wonders not for the first time and not for the last if perhaps his clan is wrong. It feels like betrayal to think it but he yearns. He wants to feel love without guilt and shame. He wants to love Grogu with freedom. He wants to be the parent his parents were to him.

Based on @headcanonthings‘s cute little post. It amused me, so I had to draw Han being stupid. He’s probably had a little too much of the tihaar, if you know what I’m saying.

Din: I just get so nervous when I look at him...what should I do?

Bo-Katan: (so incredibly tired) Just talk to him, I don’t know.

Din: And say anything?

Bo-Katan: As long as it stops you from bothering me.

Din: Alright...here I go. (approaches Luke) Your ass makes me forget about having dead parents.

Luke:....t-thanks?

Din: Did I need to say anything else?

Bo-Katan: I DIDN’T TELL YOU TO SAY THAT TO BEGIN WITH!!???

Din: If someone came up to me ten years ago, and told me I had to buy a brand new ship with reinforced bulkheads because my riduur likes to "harmlessly tinker" and our ad'ika keeps trying to crawl into the plumbing, and that I've spent thousands of credits to jedi-proof everything, including padding corners a dozen feet up the walls because they float, and leave footprints on the kriffing ceiling, and that I eat frogs at least once a week to appease them, I'd say to you... "You mean somewhere out there I have a husband and child who love me? Where are they and can I go get them now?"

luke is single handedly fixing the mandalorian-jedi bad blood (((by kissing din))) and ezra is single handedly making it worse again (((by calling grogu baby yoda)))

Din is written as a very novel type of masculine ideal. It's not about being the hero, the chosen one, the True Ruler. It's about protecting those who can't protect themselves, showing up to do what needs to be done, eschewing personal glory in favor of the unit.

Y'know we've honestly reached the point where bo katan is probably the least morally fucked up person on a show. Incredible.

Patience. 

Orgus. He sighed heavily, but- his master was right. He needed patience. He couldn’t rush ahead out of guilt, or frustration, or even blind compassion. For even if his skills were sharp and his connection to the Force strong beyond many of his peers and seniors, he was still learning to know himself. And the more he tried to rush, the less quickly he’d learn, and the longer it would take for him to be able to truly help the people of the galaxy.

There was a sudden puff of his master’s amusement through the echoes of their developing bond, like the gentle wind tangling his white fringe into a blizzardy mess on his head - and it curled fondly about him, prickling with the finest hints of exasperation. Corrain blinked owlishly into the roaring flames, nonplussed by the response- and then startled in surprise when Ranna’s hand landed solidly on his shoulder, her expression wobbling with concern.

i, like paz, am the Eldest Sibling, and the right of dunking on your younger siblings at any and all opportunity is sacred and sacrosanct. paz would literally have din in a headlock, giving him a space noogie, while looking bo-katan dead in the eye like "you mess with him you mess with ME."

Can we just appreciate for a moment that when Grogu was taken by Moff Gideon in season 2, Din IMMEDIATELY went to get ALL his bad ass girl friends (Cara Dune, Fennac Shad, Bo Katan) to help him get his son back 🥹🥹🥹
