I may have never known you personally but I can undoubtedly say, that you've shaped an entire generation with your work. I am forever grateful for being introduced to a universe where people can fly, dragons grant wishes, and even for a little while, forget how ruthless the real world can be.

One of the core memories from my childhood is raising my hands in front of the TV to "help" Goku save the world and I'll never forget the fun I had.

You gave us a gift that will keep on giving even after you're gone. I'm glad to have received this gift.

oh yeah i watched kite. from 1998 the ova kite.

i believe i was watching the censored version on tubi (afaik fans of this recommend that anyway so its fine) and it was definitely heavy to the point i am. nnnot sure i can recommend it (discusses sa quite a bit and snippets of said sa are shown onscreen) it was very good. the colorwork is gorgeous and the fight choreo is REALLY fun (at one point a bathroom light going on and off (not in a flashing way dw) was used to increase drama it was FUN) and the main girl is pretty neat. main girl gets to kill the people who wronged her. ends in a way that kind of leaves a pit in your stomach but distinctly not for the reasons mentioned above. there is seemingly a sequel anime to this one that i may check out but ill be checking the cws on that one. anyway Good Ova

I know I've been fairly absent these days. Life has been a mess, but it's beginning to settle down finally. Last night I had some major sleep anxiety and ended up drawing Luffy x Nami from One Piece.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this couple. I can legit ship Nami with any one of the crew, except maybe Franky and Jinbei. That's tough for me to picture for some reason. X'D I finally have caught up with the animated series after being about 5+ years behind. Kinda binge-watched everything and now I'm just stuck on these guys.

There's seriously not enough fanfiction and fanart out there to satisfy my soul at the moment. O.o

Anyways, hope you like! One that has a bit of color to it and the other a bit more plain. Couldn't decide how I wanted this to go. X'D

Also, I really like the idea of Luffy in a T-shirt. O.O

Again... I'm obsessed. X'D

Food shots in Marimite. As you can see, I was only able to scrape together only a few shots over 4 seasons, which is fairly notable, considering that the characters are having tea all of the time. There are lots of scenes where the characters are eating as a primary part of the action and yet the camera pays the food no attention. Notice that there are no Rei or Shimako cakes featured here. The only shots that are really given attention are the two bentos in the middle there, from season 3. Both of them are Fukuzawa bentos. Seems like that's a characterization choice, to highlight how much love Yumi's mom puts into their bentos (in contrast to Sachiko's upbringing). The thing that stood out to me about those bentos, though, is how they're protein-heavy. 3 kinds of meats, teeny bits of veggie portions. Is that normal? But yeah. Food is not focused on in Marimite as a love language, really.
