Alpha!LxOmega!Reader (m/m)

-A medieval omegaverse Deathnote oneshot-

Y/N had grown up in a very wealthy society, one where he was were born into privilege and rule. It is a society that the higher born omega's and alpha's placed a great amount of importance on, as they believed that they should be given respect and authority over those of lesser birth. Omegas of rich birth were seen to be of higher importance than those of lesser descent, and arrangements were usually made for them to be mated when they reach maturity.

Y/N was one of these Omegas of high standing. His family had arranged his marriage to an alpha of equal birthright, the esteemed Light Yagami. But Y/N had no desires to follow through with the agreement, instead of harbouring dreams of finding a life and love of his own. Besides that, he thought of Light as a horrid and odious man. He had met him through various social gatherings and balls. And he wanted nothing to do with this pompous man.

However until such time he was to meet his assigned Alpha, his parents had bought a young man to take care of his heats so that he could remain out of heat for three weeks at a time and go about his social obligations.

Y/N was disturbed to learn that the Alpha they had chosen was one who had been sold by his family of poor standing to them for just a small sum of money. He knew of the cruel and unjustified nature of this arrangement and wanted no part of it. Thus, when the Alpha arrived at the family estate, Y/N was quick to push boundaries with the Alpha and even offer to help him escape with an escape route planned in advance. But to Y/N's surprise, the Alpha had no desire to leave.

Though he had been raised to believe that an Omega of higher standing should not bear familiarity with any alphas, let alone one of low stature, Y/N found himself drawn to the reserved and intelligent L. Furthermore, L was also taken by Y/N's open and free spirit. As the weeks passed, it was clear that there was an undeniable connection that had arisen between them.

On the waned of Y/N's heat, L lost control of his own urges and claimed Y/N as his Omega. In the aftermath, it was revealed that with such kind of mate claiming coming from a noble-born omega such as him, it would result in both of them being killed. Fearing for both of their life, Y/N proposed that they should escape and create a life together elsewhere in secrecy. L then agreed and the two embarked on a great adventure together.

Y/N had lived a long and fulfilling life as a vampire. In his thousands of years, he had seen and experienced almost every kind of thing imaginable. But nothing he had ever seen prepared him for what he was feeling in the presence of Mello.

The alpha human bandit clan leader had confronted Y/N for feeding off of members from his bandit clan. Y/N had shrugged it off, telling him that he’d been saving him for last. But instead of attacking Y/N when his back was turned, Mello had invited Y/N to join him and his fellow bandits in defending their hideout against a common enemy - the wherewolves.

The alliance between the bandits and Y/N proved to be a successful one, but it also had unspoken benefits for Mello. He had been stealing glances at Y/N ever since he first laid eyes on him, and he knew that he stood to gain something far more valuable than what the bandits had earned from the battle.

The time came when Y/N was about to enter into heat - a period of several weeks in which he was completely drained of his vampire powers. Knowing that he would be absent for three weeks, Mello urged Y/N to let him take care of his needs while he was in heat. Y/N declined, not wanting to be taken advantage of and not willing to give into his omega instincts so easily.

Unfortunately, an attack from a group of seelies threw a real wrench into his plans. Y/N and Mello were captured and thrown into the seelie dungeons, where Y/N could not teleport himself to freedom due to his weakened state. In order to escape, Mello offered to breed Y/N so that he would partially recover his powers. The thought of being bred by an alpha terrified Y/N, but he knew that he had no choice. To his horror, the mating was not only a physical union but also a claiming, and when Y/N saw the fated mates mark that now covered the length of his neck, he let out a tired hiss.

Mello couldn’t help but chuckle. “You say that you don’t care for me, but your body says something completely different. Come on, Omega, admit that you like me more than you say you do.”

Y/N could only shake his head, his emotions in chaos. He wanted to hate Mello for taking advantage of him in his weakened state, but he also felt a strange sense of comfort and safety being in the alpha’s presence for the first time. He never had any plans belonging to a mate, but now it seemed like those plans rapidly appeared and got forced down his throat. Not that this was the only thing forced down in there. And unlike he led on, he didnt mind those developments at all .
