You know, I've always thought the Shitennou were cool, ahaha. TBH I never actually saw them in anime, be it classic or Crystal, but I just... think they're cool anyway. When I started watching as a kid it's already in the Black Moon arc, but I had owned the "Digest Album" (Book 1, Book 2) thing that summarises the Dark Kingdom plot. Then I found the manga and saw that the 4 of them "went good" and stuck around for longer in the manga so instantly for me manga >>>>>> anime just because of that.

(I wanted them to come back for real, but they didn't, boohoo)

By my current preference I would've probably like Kunzite the most, but for whatever reason way back whenever my favourite is Nephrite. I don't even really know why either, maybe it's because I used to just really really prefer dark hair and the other 3 all have light-coloured hair.

Random: It's probably obvious/people already knew (because I'm like 10 years late to the party), but I just thought it's so funny that Takeuchi-sensei said Zoi's hair is fluffy and silky ("cat hair"). It's really visible in how he kinda has hair strands flying around that the other 3 don't, but it's just such a cute description LOL...

Late submission for @smvillainsweek Day 1, theme Corruption / Redemption. The end of the Golden Kingdom (and the beginning of the Dark Kingdom), shortly before the past life events of episode 44 of the 90s anime (and Prince Endymion's confrontation with the Shitennou in the PC Engine Game).

The chambers (beds? sarcophagus?) are based on the one Mamoru is put into in late season 1, when he's being mind controlled to serve the Dark Kingdom...

"I won't let you hurt him!"

Late submission for Day 6 of @smvillainsweek 2023, Theme: Weapon / Shield. Based on a scene from chapter 6 of "A Gift by Starlight" by Mina Martin, a story tagged "Naru the Vampire Slayer" 🩸✨ The story absolutely lives up to that premise and is cool as hell. This gritty hospital fight scene captured my imagination and I wanted to see it from the moment I read it. If you aren't familiar with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I'm not very), the story still mostly makes sense and fills you in on what you need to know- I absolutely recommend it to any Neph/Naru fans!! One of the very best.
