Who starts putting up decorations in October? Jake, duh. Although, for a week or so it’s a very odd mix of halloween and christmas decorations. Amy just rolls with it. She’s tried to make a calendar for decorating buuuut it failed. No one visits them during that odd time tho.

Who buys the advent calendars? Amy. She KNOWS all the right places and what are the best styles of advent calendars and how many she needs to get and just who gets what. She and Jake have one together. She gets a vintage wooden one and Jake gets a store bought (but of high quality) chocolate one.

Who places mistletoe all around the house? Jake. Jake. Jake. He just can’t resist it. There may be a ton of them over their bed too. His line for oops-we-were-caught is always different too. Amy has secretly started to make a whole binder for those lines.

Who wraps the presents for other people? Amy Santiago and don’t you dare come close Jake Peralta!! It’s a war zone when it’s Wrapping Time™ and Jake is only allowed in the vicinity because they’re married and live together. He tries to put on a noice wrapping mix tape but Amy has her own mix so as soon as he thinks he’s got it, she quickly switches to her carefully curated selection of musics.

Who puts the final star/angel on the top of the Christmas tree? Jake. And he insists that Amy holds him up. While he’s on the steps. It’s all very eye-rolly but she does it anyway. It is a cute moment so, why not?

Who’s the one that hates eggnog? Neither. Although Amy prefers a good perfectly achieved hot chocolate, she will have eggnon. So long it is also perfectly achieved. Jake will drink any and all eggnog he finds.

Who’s the one that bakes Christmas cookies for guests? Amy used to make them all on her own, but after living together for a while, Jake eventually found a spot in the cooking time. He takes care of the decoration and the amount of chocolate chips. Other than that, Amy’s in charge.

Who sends out the Christmas cards? After that one time that Jake got distracted with a Die Hard themed christmas display, Amy now insists on doing it. But Jake goes as well. They do it together and eventually Jake will be trained enough to do it on his own (the squad has a betting poll on when that will happen)

Who knows all the words to twelve days of Christmas? You’d think it’s Amy, but nope. It’s Jake. Doesn’t mean he ever sings it the right way tho.

Who’s the better snowman builder? Jake. Amy has tried to build snowmen but her approach never works. Jake’s the master builder here, much to her chagrin. She made a whole binder on how to make snowmen! How come she can’t do them?!

Who starts snowball fights? Jake, duh. Amy will not participate. Until one of his snowballs ruins Something and then it is War™

Who’s the one that wakes the other on Christmas morning by playing Christmas songs really loudly? Amy. It’s usually payback for Jake waking her up super early on Christmas EVE. She has a ton of fun with the songs tho x)

Who has the ugliest Christmas sweater? Jake. He bought it after Amy sarcastically called it the most beautiful thing ever and that he should get it and lo and behold he did. He wears it every Christmases and Amy is nowhere closer to liking it xD

Who still writes from Santa on the gifts? Jake. He loves the myth and he wants to make a believer out of Amy. She still doesn’t believe but she loves the gesture very, very much.
