@littlebear1537 thank you for the question!
On the second pic there is Nikon, a creator (if you can say so) of Source. They don't remember him much, and he died not so long after this memory.

Usually cooking in their apartment was a joint effort, but this day was different. Ava had been running a seminar on a risky surgery she performed recently, which had been a major source of both excitement and anxiety for weeks. The recognition made her so happy, pleased to know she was being acknowledged for her efforts as a doctor. Still, the meeting had gone on for a few hours and Ava was speaking on stage for most of it. That’s enough to drain anyone emotionally but to Ava it meant masking for the whole afternoon and pretending she wasn’t shaking with anxiety. It was all part of the job, she would tell Sarah, but her girlfriend knew it took its toll.
The second she got home from the seminar, Ava was visibly distressed. Too much input was enough to render her overwhelmed, so public speaking was one of those things she tended to push herself through until she broke. Sarah knew she needed space after that, so she didn’t pressure her with questions or too much coddling. Instead she had offered her a hug, not moving to touch Ava unless she instigated it. She wasn’t too offended when Ava shook her head, wrapping her arms around her own body because everything was too much.
Sarah had understood and just asked if she needed some alone time. The blonde had agreed and took a pair of earplugs from Sarah’s hand when they were offered to her. Sometimes she just needed to step back from it all, when even Sarah’s love and comfort could be too much. Her girlfriend didn’t take offense to it because she knew it wasn’t her fault at all. Ava needed space sometimes, they both did, and she would always respect that.
It had been about two hours by then, Ava having retreated to their bedroom soon after getting home. Sarah checked on her a couple times, just to make sure she was alright, and found her asleep. Ava was sprawled out on the bed, Sarah’s pillow trapped in her arms as she held in close to her body. Even if she couldn’t handle direct affection in her sensory overloads, Sarah would be Ava’s main comfort regardless. It was cute, she had to admit, and also reassuring. Ava deserved the rest and she didn’t want to risk startling her awake, so Sarah decided to make dinner on her own.
With music playing over her bluetooth speaker, Sarah had been occupying herself in the kitchen. Crockett had sent her a recipe for a pasta dish he made once when they were visiting him, something Sarah had liked a lot. The preparation was long but the dish simple to make otherwise, so she had been bustling around the space preparing their meal. She had spent a lot of her childhood cooking, since her mom was often absent and her dad had left years before. Cooking for Sarah was familiar and safe, something she was content to use as a distraction. Besides, she adored cooking for people she cared about, so making something warm for Ava to eat once she felt better was the best idea in her mind.
Preoccupied with stirring the sauce she was making, Sarah didn’t hear the shuffling behind her right away. What did catch her attention was the thin arms wrapping around her waist, only making her jump a little before she relaxed just as quickly.
“Hey, Avey,” she murmured, her free hand dropping to settle on Ava’s wrist. Her girlfriend only hummed in reply, pressing her face into Sarah’s shoulder as she leaned into her body.
“You okay?” she continued, moving more carefully as she continued cooking so she didn’t jostle Ava too much. Often Ava would feel guilty for pushing Sarah away when she was overwhelmed, even though her girlfriend promised she understood. Whenever she felt better she would seek out comfort though, for both of them.
“Mhm,” her reply was muffled, “Want help?”
Her voice was raspy with sleep and Sarah knew she wasn’t very alert yet. Naps weren’t either of their favourite things, since they ended up waking groggy and tired, but sometimes it was necessary. Ava certainly seemed to be feeling better, even if she was still tired.
“No, baby, it’s okay. Why don’t you go sit? I’m almost done, anyway.”
She felt the way Ava shook her head against her back before she replied, “I’ll stay.”
Sarah just chuckled softly when the grip on her waist tightened, solidifying the point that she wouldn’t be leaving. She didn’t mind, of course, because attention from Ava was always welcome. Besides, she was happy to know she was back to her normal self, despite the busy day and overwhelming nature of their work.
“You’re so cute when you’re half asleep like this,” Sarah mused as she patted the back of Ava’s hand gently. Her girlfriend just whined halfheartedly, pretending she hated being called cute. In reality she was rendered shy by the comment, which Sarah could tell by the way she hid her face back in her shoulder, but she wouldn’t admit it. Ava was cute and her girlfriend never hesitated to remind her of that, even if it made her flustered.
They lapsed into silence soon after, save for the music playing quietly in the room. Even though Sarah didn’t need help, Ava was content to hold onto her and follow her movements languidly. It was some much needed comfort and she adored moments like this, feeling the stress of her day ebbing away completely. Domestic moments like this, with Sarah humming along to the song playing and leaning into Ava’s embrace, made everything seem a bit more bearable.

‘Don’t Touch My Baby’ Signs Don’t Work Because Etsy is Too Cute
You don’t really want anyone touching your baby—let alone random strangers. Cooing from a safe distance, or tactfully tickling a sock-covered foot is usually fine. But once an adult’s grimy hand is on a trajectory for your baby’s cheek, you’re tempted to grab it. You don’t. But you kinda wish you did. You feel weird about it. That is why, at least on the surface, hanging a “Don’t Touch My Baby” sign from your stroller makes some sense. The latest big trend in parenting gear appeals to a parental impulse, but that, unfortunately, does not mean it works in practice.
Even as these trespassing signs take Etsy by storm, creating a mini-industry of baby-related signage, experts are voicing concern. “‘Don’t Touch’ signs tend to have cute images and rhyming messages,” explains James Kellaris, a professor of signage and visual marketing at the University of Cincinnati. “I predict the baby gets touched before people process the sign.”

There’s an entire field of research dedicated to studying signage, but there is still “no magic formula for an effective sign,” Kellaris says. “Because communication depends on the sign, the person seeing it, and the context in which it is encountered.” A shoddy plywood sign that says EAT may do a perfectly good job in front a roadside diner, but would probably be a disservice to an upscale restaurant in the city. That said, there are a handful of general rules of good signage.

“Effective signs are legible from a distance, easy to process at a glance, positioned to advantage, and composed of aesthetically congruent elements,” Kellaris says. “For example, the background color should mean something in relation to the message.”
The bulk of available “Don’t Touch My Baby” signs are adorable and cheerful looking — being, after all, baby gear — which means that the medium is bound to undermine the message. More aggressive signage might work better but would also spoil the general cute baby aesthetic.
There’s a simple reason that design matters when it comes to signage. We face constant information overload, so our brains filter out most of what our eyes see. We generally notice signs, however, due to a phenomenon known as the Authority Effect. “People tend to regard signs as an authoritative source,” Kellaris says. “And authority triggers automatic compliance.” Designing an effective sign, then, is all about taking advantage of the Authority Effect, and shifting attention toward the message quickly and efficiently.

The current spate of “Don’t Touch My Baby” signs are generally word-heavy, with cute phrases and explanations, such as Stop! If you cough or sneeze, don’t touch little me! Mommy thanks you very much. “Keep the text super short,” Kellaris suggests. “‘Do not touch’ with or without a ‘Please.’” And sign designers shouldn’t beat around the bush, Kellaris adds. In lieu of cute rhymes and baby imagery, it should be made clear that the sign means STOP. “Instead of an image of an adorable teddy bear to attract attention and soften the social blow, consider using a universally recognized symbol, such as a medical alert symbol, warning, or stop icon.”
So, will “Don’t Touch My Baby Signs” prevent gross strangers from touching your baby? Likely not, unless the signs conform to the near-universal rules of good design. Red would help. An octagon would help. But finding those signs is difficult.
Besides, Kellaris is not convinced that every message should be sent by way of signage. In this case, he suggests that parents hover over their babies and bat away germ-covered hands themselves. “Signs are no substitute for verbal communication in this context,” Kellaris says. “If mama bear doesn’t want her cub touched, she should feel at liberty to growl!”
